  1. The members of this community are priveleged to play on this server, but what doesn't seem to be understood is this server is priveleged to have players.

There are good and bad things in regards to management, but when criticisms are given, there is a consistent fear of being banned. People in the last 2 or 3 years have put significant levels of hours into this server, let alone the amount of money, but say 1 thing wrong or even make a suggestion on the forum in regards to PD and you are in threat of being banned is one of the reasons why toxicity grows at the bottom. If people cannot express their opinions without being chastised for it, something is very wrong. That sends out an air of intense insecurity. Take the criticism the same way it comes from the top down, or, look at how feedback is given.

There are a certain few staff who go above and beyond to get to know the community and for that you should be applauded. Others make a judgement call that impacts often 40 plus people at one time based on bias, and singular instances. You can do your best but if a certain person doesn't like your leader they will do everything in their power to make sure any privileges you have are revoked.

Expression of issues is hard to do when emotions are involved. Some are better than others. But if you refuse to hear the points that are being made you will breed an air of disdain.

If our discords in private cannot be used to discuss issues, other discords get created, which end up leading to even more rule breaks as they are completely unmonitored. Complaining in private is often 100x worse for the outcome. People need to vent. It has to be done. We are all people at the end of the day.

Leaders alone cannot run a group, but groups are run by multiple people. Every person has a role and if the group they are in feel they are leading them down the wrong path or doing the group injustice they will be organically removed. Forcing leadership changes for things that only a glimpse has been shown is a deadly path and I urge you not to do it. For me, and with Aztecas, I would not have reached the position without the leadership that existed. When there was issues with the old leadership it organically sorted itself out. There needs to be numerous discussions with staff and players. When staff begin to make that decision, unconscious bias comes into play.

And speaking of, if people refuse to investigate issues when brought up and purely shot down due to emotions, that is wrong.

There needs to be strict rules on time between characters and if moving to an alt, not attending a scene. PD is the fall back for criminals. And criminals is fun for PD. Metagaming scenes will occur and if something is not done to stop that, well, that's on you.

The way we are spoken to by some members of staff is abhorrent, if we cannot speak back in a constructive manner. Simply ignoring issues will not make it go away. Again, there are staff who are amazing. If you take offence to this point step back and ask yourself are you part and parcel of the issue. Those who tried to help are often looked down on or almost like a sympathiser. Stand up more. And be the change you want to see.

A criminal on this server in a lot of ways is seen as a lesser human than a PD character. The way people who play criminal are spoken to and about is shameful. Every person is equal.

Mental health plays a huge reason why people become heavily invested in roleplay. We do it to escape realities for a short time. When people are berated for rp, and requests for alt rp are not responded to for weeks and months, it reduces that realism. Set times for responses and implementation of rp needs to exist. We understand your human too and it takes time so for example approve or decline alt rp within a month, and then agree when it will occur. Sitting waiting on alt rp is honestly so frustrating that at times the concepts and ideas are just given up on. I personally have been lucky to have mine approved at times, but if I want to alt rp wiggling the phone out of my pocket when I have escaped in cuffs, that should be looked at and approved by the admin online. The admin can approve and decline as they see fit. Guidelines can exist and it will encourage more rp overall. And no I'm not talking about bomb making approved on the spot. So please do not try to take this out of context.

The public robbery rule was brought in to prevent people being robbed everywhere. It was a benefit overall. The idea the city was full of people was truly a great concept. However when it is only applied to criminals, something is wrong. Police seem not know or understand that this is a rule we have had in place for quite some time now. I was told only a few weeks ago that there are no other considered people in the city. I explained there are and had to /report 1 and ask a staff member to explain this concept to them.

PD need to follow the rules the same as criminals. Criminals wake up every day and check the forums. Read the decisions. We spend hours reading every day the outcomes of reports as this feeds what we do. I recently met a PD officer who didn't know what the archive for reports is. That speaks volumes. And on that point, rulings seem to be contradictory at times. Of course each scenario will be different, but often times it will be the same scenario but a different mod takes the report and I know personally depending on which admin takes it what the result will be, regardless of the issue. This is wrong and needs serious looking at.

Jail times are too long. Simple. An ooc punishment for an ic issue is beyond acceptable. Fine the life out of them, but putting someone in doc for 9/10 and I have seen 19 hours for rp that was enjoyed on both sides is unacceptable. I believe most PD would think themselves fair and read this and think, wow I would never. But there are those who do. If you see it, call them out. Make it a whistle blowing mission.

Coming from that point, there should be a reward system for whistle blowing on PD.

Notice above how I mention PD and not SD? I would like to thank the SD department of this server for the RP and fairness that is displayed. Not all perfect but significantly more fair than PD. PD need to take a long look at the issues internally and if what Bala said is to be taken on, remove the Rot from the top. Poor leaders is not only for criminals.

I have many many many more points to make but I would like to see the rest of what the community have to say.

  2. La Puesta en Marcha
    “The Setup”

The last community event that Aztecas had hosted went off without a hitch, and with the new year there was a lull in the activity around the city. The people who were antagonising and attacking was diminishing and the vatos were spending time focusing on themselves.

    Ahq2LSh.png

Everyone in the group had a job to do, and the Aztecas had become a well oiled machine. Between making drugs, chopping cars, smuggling and sourcing imports, selling weapons, mediating groups conflicts - there was never a dull moment and each day was making them stronger. With a bit of free time, Alicia met with the vatos after having met with the owners of <REDACTED> and securing a deal with them. They would do the work and allow them entry to the establishment provided the vatos were respectful and were willing to get their hands dirty.

    ZBZ3KsV.png

    Fb6UPwA.png

It was during a trip to El Burro and giving the vatos a history listen on NLA/Aztecas and how they came to be as powerful as they were, Alicia saw a familiar face - Senorita Rosa. The old woman stepped out cautiously from her house and beckoned her over with a huge smile on her face.

    yY1Mfxi.png

“I cannot believe you managed to get Teresita across the border. I have missed her so much and my days are not many, gracias bonita”

Alicia smiled to the old woman and gently placed a hand on her shoulder

“Senora, for you and the latinos that have come here looking for the American dream, I will do what I can with the resources I have.”

The woman clicked her fingers and pointed to the door of her house. She hobbled inside, Alicia watched as the frail woman almost tripped across her door. She leaned down to a cupboard in the kitchen and produced out some old dusty bottles of Whiskey.

“You know Nina, I was waiting for a special occasion, but it seems they are few and far between these days - take this and enjoy the night”.

Alicia smiled, the people of her Barrios were the ones she would never forget or lose sight of, and protecting them and most importantly, making their lives in this cut throat city a time they could be free and peaceful. The reason they had left their homes in the first place.
She called the vatos in town and they pulled up to Senorita Rosa’s home where a speaker was produced and they partied long into the night.
As she sat watching the people of El Burro and the Aztecas dancing and laughing together, she smirked - this is what she had been working for. There was nothing else in her mind other than enjoying the moment. But it was cut short and it was suddenly back to business. The snap back into reality stuck with her. How could it feel like there are two completely different sides to this city.

    tWYJUcA.png

A few days had passed and the words of Rosa stood in her mind. Good things happened every day in this city, but they were often outweighed by the negative. The work that gets done is consistently overshadowed by lies and opinions of enemies. People tried to hurt them, hurt their familias, their businesses. But they never backed down. Her connects in Mexico had brought wonderful news of new lines of imports and they had begun working on new opportunities, not for them and for self gain, but for all the hispanics and latinos that were treated like dogs within the city, by uninformed people.

Driving around in her Kamacho she closed her eyes for a second on the side of the road, smiling to herself at the happy faces of those around her, dancing and living in the moment. Musica was inherently important to them, but it was also a catalyst of change. Great movements had come from music. It was a universal language. As she opened her eyes she found herself staring directly in the gates of the Sisyphus Theater. Tilting her head she drove into the carpark and took a look around. She jumped up on the stage and screamed. The echo filled the hills around. Things seemed so unfair in this city. No matter what good they had done, it was constantly criticised.

    j8BhBy5.png

She sat down on the edge of the stage swinging her legs. She missed her home, she missed her mami. She did not miss the egotistical putos y putas that made her leave. Full of mixed emotions she looked around the arena completely empty, but beautiful in the sun. It reminded her of the music events she would attend as a teenager back in Puerto Rico. It had been a long time since she had just enjoyed a night, and her vatos too.

Slowly a plan formed in her head. At their last event, she was shown some of the talent that Los Santos had to offer, with Frankie V from <REDACTED> having blown everybody away. She thought about the times she had sat at Los Santos Customs listening to the beautiful sounds of Sean Brunotte, a talent that had not gone unnoticed. Pierre Tremblay had been recognised by many, particularly from the bank, and Alicia had the pleasure of hearing his songs while people happily sang along. Each having a distinctive sound and stage presence. Finally she thought of the Christmas Burnout Nation event and how much hype Don Mozzarella had brought as DJ Cheezit.

    “I wonder….”

She took out her phone and dropped a message to each of them.

“Hola, would you be interested in performing some live music?”

The first text came back from Pierre - “Happily, give me details”. Then the second, “I would be happy to!” and the third “Give me time and dates”.
She grinned from ear to ear. Maybe this was something they could pull off but she certainly could not do it alone.

Grabbing a notepad and pen she made a list of the things she would need to make this event a reality.

    Música En Vivo
    Performers
    Location
    Sound equipment and lighting
    Date & Time
    Security
    Food/Drink
    Medical
    Parking
    Flyers & Advertisement

This was achievable. She quickly called on the radio and asked for the Aztecas who were not busy chopping and cooking to make their way to the location.

They pulled up and walked around to where she was standing. Alicia explained to them what she was hoping to achieve and how she needed help. She walked them around the stage and surrounding area, scouting it out for both sound and security. They determined where each section would be located and listed out the jobs.

    Dzovmqf.png

    qBiNY5c.png

For the following 3 days Alicia spent all of her time out at the venue sorting out some of the minor details. She needed to get the word out, this would only work if everyone was welcome. Music doesn’t care about gangs or colours. She knew she could rely on her familia to pull this whole thing off.

    kKepn9Q.png

They had secured a time and dates for the event to occur, now they just needed to set it up.

The vatos all metup to determine what was left to

    W5W4RQJ.png

    W5W4RQJ.png
She reached out to Carla and the two chicas went out to the venue and spoke with the owner, requesting rental of the theatre and the equipment for the lights and sounds. They each untangled cables and plugged in to the electrical boxes on the wall. The switch was flipped and the lights came on. Alicia walked up to the mic and turned the power on before tapping on it on hearing the crackle echo through the theater. Things were actually in motion.

    QyS910Q.png

    8eg7wYX.png

She reached out to Juan and sent him the specifications for the flyers.

“It’s an inclusive event, don’t have the logo front and center or the federales will be all over it”.

Within minutes, she received an email on her phone with a beautiful image

    “Good enough?”
    “Perfect.”

    Hd8kMiY.png

For the second time she called the vatos back to the location.

“I need security for this. Someone in the carpark to keep watch of the cars, we all know how opportunistic people can be. No one gets in with any weapons, there will be no bloodshed at this. No one sneaks in the back. This is a community event, and we know most people don’t have the same cash as others, let’s make things fair, no entry cost but anyone who wants to make a donation can.”

Each of them nodded and the vatos put their names down

“Lewis, Ahmed, you both lead entrance security, Lucy & Alex your on Exit”. Rafi and Vlad, you are going to support the entrance. Lucy & Andrew you are both on Medical duty, you have both earned your medical licenses. Jay Gallo you are on food detail. Anyone you trust can assist and support you in these duties.”

    naxYs0m.png

The night was slowly creeping up on them and she had one final thing to prepare. How was she going to advertise it. She grabbed her phone and scrolled through the hundreds of contacts she had accumulated. Starting with every major gang in the city she sent a text to their high commands letting them know the details. Having met with so many up and coming gangs, and listening to the problems and issues they were facing lately, it was nice to see some smileys and happy messages received back. That night they met with Kudo Kai and she let them know of their upcoming event, Dax and Sherlock both looked at her with smiles on their faces.

“We will reach out to you shortly”.

    0BliMyD.png

She presumed they were busy and needed some time to see who would be available to come. An old friend of Alicia’s worked for weasel so she gave him a call. She let him know of the event and they worked out a deal for promoting this festival.

    A269PhM.png

The weasel employee worked tirelessly and soon a brightly coloured ad filled the billboards of Los Santos

Música En Vivo, Saturday 6th Feb, Sisyphus Theater

Everything was now in place but the clock was ticking.

    Only 24 hours to go..

  3. 28 minutes ago, Bala said:

I can see what you are saying, when you have to restart your game for getting the boot it's a bit long.

But at the same time, wouldn't this make being afk more convenient? I'm just not sure it's what we need.

In some cases people are RPing and forget to move or like for PD we're doing paperwork, but then in others, people are just idle.

Maybe as well as the text coming up with the math, you get like a sound prompt?

A sound prompt would truly help - i have missed AFK math while in RP and having long conversations and it would bring my attention back to it for me personally and I am sure others would have this happen to them too

  4. Mi Familia Sobre Todos

    "My Family Above All Else"

With the amount of PD interactions, the Aztecas movements were being tracked heavily by the PD forces of LSPD. It seemed everywhere they went, helicopters hovered above, and one by one the Vatos were being picked off by the federales. DOC became a hive of activity with various members of the Cartel being arrested and paraded around like trophies in cuffs. It broke the familia’s heart to watch their friends and families being locked away for so many years.

    mX30TTm.png

Inside prison the vatos had a lot to offer and even began working on themselves with plenty of exercise and yoga activities, and even interacting with people who outside they would view as their enemy, why make time inside unpleasant. While serving some time alongside Alicia and Carlos, they discussed the past, how things are and where they hope to go.

Ricky had been a huge part of Aztecas lives since they first encountered each other and had help support them through everything thick and thin, and always with respect. He was someone who understood the world they lived in. As Ricky had done so much for them, they felt they could return the favour, and offered him a position within Aztecas, as an Officiales. When the guards came to let them know their release time was coming each one grinned with excitement.

They were excited to have him join with them and knew the value add that he would bring.

    jliZkD5.png

The last couple of days, things had begun quietening down. Now was the time to focus on themselves and ensure that everyone was away of their expectations and requirements. The vatos voiced their concerns, the things that they thought were working and called out where they required training.

A high standard was expected from them, but they had the resources within their group already of those who were experienced and able to provide this.

    R7Xf5s4.png

They grouped up and made their first moves across the city to begin what was required and expected of them.

    0o0CAmx.png

Over the last couple of weeks, Yuki had reached out to Alicia talking about the lives they once had, an almost identical conversation that they had just had with Ricky a few weeks prior. Yuki had done a lot for them throughout her time in Triads and had taken her time to assess did she enjoy what Aztecas represented. Knowing that Lucy had joined only a short time before, she knew she would be surrounded by people she trusted and had the strength of a familia behind her.

Alicia made sure that everyone who was not involved in important activities came to the church where they caught up, recapped what had happened at the meeting before, and went through the initiation process that is expected. Once her nervousness was eased by the vatos, Yuki took the time to respond to each question and they listed out the skills she would be able to bring. Yuki was an established criminal within the city and having someone as seasoned as her would be nothing but an asset. Their familia was growing and getting stronger, but they never lost their primary objective - a place for people to feel safe, secure and at home with their familias.

    cyzi6cT.png

    xk7IpE6.png

Alicia send a message back to her connects in Mexico asking how things were going. The recent economic change had created a whole new line of business for them and she wanted a part of it. Alicia’s eyes glistened listening to the news, the way the trade was working but more importantly the money they were making. She jumped in a Kamacho next to Carlos and smiled

I have found us some new business...”

  5. Tiempo de trabajar

    "Back to Work"

The vatos were back in the full swing of operations and been working tirelessly to build up new relations with all the new groups and people who had come into the city. One of the most important things in the vatos lives is the privilege and honour of promotions. They are an accolade of your achievements within a group and earn more responsibility as you progress up through the ranks. The vatos were excited to have this opportunity and with the snow they took full advantage and had snowball fights before their ceremony.

    C2KJKvx.png

    IGYtvdg.png

Each vato lined up and eagerly awaited to see would their name be called. People were called forward and Carlos etched lined into their necks to symbolise their ranks and promotions. As blood ran down the necks of many of the vatos, two special promotions saw two of the vatos move from Asesino to Officiales, the first step towards high command, an honour within the familia.

    ljNuruP.png

    HApjajI.png

    yGMxPJx.png

    swkn3Vu.png

The vatos needed some relaxation with everything that was going on so they decided to hold a rave in the West Hanger of the airport, sometimes we just need to let loose.

    i1vyiqX.png

    u8MtUPy.png

The vatos gathered up and the music started pumping and the drugs began to flow. Goblins, Lost, LFM, OTF, 67s and a few others made their way out and joined in. Everyone was in great spirits.

    es6hRgW.png

    5WjWVPO.png

Then the dreaded sound of a helicopter above them made them scatter.

    But not quick enough..

    kpfSWOp.png

Unfortunately for Gabe, Lucy, Yuki and Alicia the cops took a special interest in them and pulled them over as they leary eyed tried to leave. They questioned what they were there for, and were satisfied with their responses marking them all as 10-16s. As they were about to pull off, a drop landed in the West Hanger. The worst possible timing. The marranos did not believe this was not theirs and were convinced that the drop belonged to them and ended up with a trip to mission row. The 3 girls were placed in a singular cell and questioned for hours. Gabe, Lucy and Yuki ended up protecting Alicia and allowing her to get out of jail and return to her familia.

    EN1sjKE.png

    YvY4glk.png

After meeting and assessing a couple of the new fish to the familia, a quick meet and greet was setup between the groups for the new people and some issues were brought forward and hashed out between the groups. Looking forward to the New Year and planning out events and general chit chat after each person called out their names and introduced the new vatos.  The snow had left but now they were in full energy to get their operations in order and ensure everything is in order.

  6. Y A Casa Vamos
    "And Home We Go"

Many of the vatos had travelled home for Navidad to spend time with their familias and friends back in Mexico and other countries around the world. It was a beautiful Christmas for most, getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city of Los Santos for a few brief days. Some of the vatos who wanted to stay in the city continued working and doing what was needed to keep things going.

When most of the vatos had returned they had a quick catch up and informed the High Command of what had been happening and what went well and what needed improvements that they had seen.

They even welcomed some new homies into their group that had been living in the city and looking for a place to call home.

    fmGmhF1.png

    Rfhno8j.png

Of course SD and PD missed us a lot over the Christmas and had to drop in and say welcome back

    P5ansFl.png

Alicia Gabe and Jack took a trip over to Deathrow at Chumash to talk with Mike and the rest of the crew chilling at the studio and chatted about some general things before discussing potential for a New Year’s eve party.. There were no better people in the city to plan a huge bash with than the music moguls.

    u68IDjt.png

Over the Christmas some people were incredibly productive cooking and finding cars to chop so when everything was settled back into place they began their usual flow of operations. Many of them had smuggled the best Cocaine back from Mexico when they were travelling back to Los Santos from the break and sorted out some of the local dealers in Grove. They took out a brick from the back of the car and cut it open with a key. Taylor put a bit on the key and gave him a bump.

    d3hBUcI.png

    He sniffed it up and rubbed his nose;

“Fuck, I haven’t had snow this pure in a long time”
    “Directly imported”
    “Get me more yeah?”

They shook hands, passed over the packages and received the cash.

  7. Fiesta de Burnout - Yule Feast

One day Gabe and Alicia were speaking to the Burnout crew at their HQ in the city when they announced they were hosting a party, but not just any kind of party, a World Food Fair. They handed the Aztecas an invitation to their event on the 18th of December. Not only would there would be food and dancing but there would be a raffle held also. Alicia and Gabe excitedly went back to the vatos and let them know. They couldn’t wait.

    8eNGS67.png

A couple of days before the event Alicia sat down and prepared a menu. It had to be something tasty but quick to eat, and representative of their culture. She made a list of all the things she would need and hopped into the car with Gabe.

First stop, they needed to drop by the store and grab some things. Browsing through the shelves she slowly ticked off everything on the list. She packed up each item and placed them in to the plastic bags

    mZ6KIuu.png

She ticked each item off her list as she bought it and they made a trip across town to the butchers to buy the freshest and best meat in Los Santos.

    N8aMgX5.png

With all the items packed up they headed over to the Burnout party location and stored the meats in the fridge and began preparing all the different types of food they would be serving. She stood at the station for hours making Guacamole dip, marinating the chicken and dicing the beef. Eventually everything was ready and the she placed the dishes back in the fridge ready for cooking later. The smell of chillis and spices was all around the carpark.

Finally the time had come and the blip on the map signalled the location for everyone to come. They pulled out their best lowriders and made their way to the spot. Alicia placed small plates and sauce cups on the table and filled each one ready for the people to taste. She turned on the BBQ and threw the meats on the aroma filling the air. She looked on the table and made sure each item was ready.

    Guacamole and Nachos
    Chicken Tamales
    Pork & Beef Mini Tacos

    WMIyTrf.png

The final thing they needed was a lot of Tequila and having a bit left over from the party they placed the bottles of Gold Label on the table ready for people to have shots with their food, no better condiment.

An Daichead Gadai and FSO also began setting up their stations and the Burnout staff ran around making sure everything was ready. People began to make their way to the place and plates of food and drink were flowing. A huge queue of people stood in front of Hazel as she sold tickets to the raffle.

    8YLXEQZ.png

    adVb9K7.png

The Vatos ate, drank and danced around their lowriders until DJ Don took to the Party Bus stage and got everyone up dancing. People came over and tasted all the foods, admiring the colours and tastes from Mexico.

    NvgoTIK.png

    YZ5Ry0C.png

The event was a huge success and everyone enjoyed their time.

Once the raffle winner was announced they packed up their stations and made their way home.
Alicia dropped off the extra food to the Church and made sure the cars were parked up carefully.

There wasn’t much happening in the city at this time and they checked their cash flows. "Hmm they looking a little light today", she thought, "Let’s hit a couple of stores".

The first store went off a complete success with SD not even arriving until they had well gone.

    ngprytc.png

Little did they know one of them had returned to Mission Row and was live watching the cameras. With a sense of confidence they arrived to the second location. This did not turn out as they had hoped and suddenly flurries of bullets filled the store and the cops pushed in. They threw handcuffs on her and tended to the wounds they had inflicted on the homies.

Sometimes things don’t always go as planned!

  8. La Fiesta del Paleto

Abilio and Alicia sat talking about the state of the city and the things that were going on, lamenting on the past and looking forward to the future. After talking for a brief time, Abilio suggested

“Well with everything going on, why don’t we have a party for the Vatos and their friends”

Alicia knew how much work the homies had been putting in and was excited to part take. They chatted about some further plans and both went back to let their familia know of the upcoming party. Abilio created a fabulous poster and the vatos went around Paleto sticking the flyers to the fronts of doors and polls around Paleto and handing them out at various locations throughout Los Santos. Alicia sent some texts around to the major gangs within the city along with some smaller ones to invite them up and allow them to network and meet more people. Every one of them was excited to attend.

    ANL33ww.jpg

LFM & Aztecas worked hard rolling blunts for days in advance preparing for the big event. The Vatos pulled their cars out from the garage and gave them a shine down and a polish, ready to show them off at the party and lounge around Paleto in them. They were excited and the morning of the party you could feel the electricity in the air as everyone prepared.

The Vatos gathered first in the Church, each one driving their lowrider and carefully parking their show cars. The city had recently imported some beautiful new lowriders to the motor stores and they were more than ready to show off their shiny new toys. Crowds of people gathered outside the gates of the Church in awe at the beautiful cars bouncing in the light of the moon and the snow, showing off their hydraulics.

The party was a huge success and people came from all around and every group imaginable to see the Goblins new home, their BMX ramp and listen to the tunes.

Many Vodkas and Tequilas were handed out and they were enjoying dancing and drinking with their friends and families. The Goblins had setup a beautiful bar area, place to dance and people were whizzing up and down the BMX ramp. There was a wonderful atmosphere that was a pleasant break from all the negativity that had been forced upon them lately.

Suddenly the whir of trucks appeared and they were surrounded by SD in SWAT uniforms. The reason? Apparently one of the cars had been bouncing too close to the Mors Mutual. Seeming like a bit of a ridiculous reason for this raid to happen, they stood side by side with their arms in the air, protesting this injustice.

Carla was pulled over by one of the SWAT who refused to hand over his badge number and placed into cuffs. The Vatos surrounded him, phones pointed and questioning. The man had nothing to say. Deep down he had to know this was completely uncalled for also. After much discussion and rebuttals, she was freed and allowed to continue with the party.

This raid had killed the mood so the vatos decided they would drive through the city, showing off their old and new cars, much to the delight of everyone they passed. They received huge numbers of compliments and the smiles across their faces was evident. There was nothing nicer than showing off these beautiful vehicles that they had pumped so much money into making beautiful.

They returned home, parked up their cars and shivered in the snow. The hoods down might look good, but in the snow it was cold. They jumped in their Kamachos and returned to work, preparing for the next event that was to come.. Work was never ending for these homies but they take it in their stride, with the love they have for each other and the loyalty they show, nothing could stop them.

  10. La Colección (Part 3 of 4)
    The Collection

    Part 1 “La Coyote”

    Part 2 "El Trato"

As Jade left Mexico she left her number with the Vatos and told them she would contact them when arrangements had been made. One night they were counting ammo and stocks around their barrio when a text came through.

    4akUUXb.png

It was from the burner phone number Jade had given Alicia, one word

    “Soon”

She called over Carlos & Gabriel and let him know the time was coming. This had to be a clean operation. They gathered around the Kamachos in their car park and Alicia explained to them what they were about to do.

    UwsC66c.png

Carlos began giving directions on what people needed to do

“We need people on security scouting the area, people to help these people off the boat and drivers for each vehicle and space for those arriving.”

    LLMB1Qn.png

Some of them looked with shock with what was about to happen, others understanding the perils and rewards from what they were about to undertake. They  grabbed supplies from the warehouse including taupes and blankets to cover the backs of the Kamachos.

    ScWeTJ6.png

The 2nd text came through with a location, one they were familiar with, the port they usually collected their imported cocaine from.

    “Boat shed at Elysian Island”

    uM34sfF.png

The vatos loaded up 3 Kamachos and began their silent journey in the darkness.

    uBBADx2.png

The radio, usually full of chatter, was completely silent. These were people’s lives, and a time for seriousness.

As they pulled into the dock, the soldados got out and began scouting the area, preparing to call over radio for any federales or civilians that may see what was happening.

Carlos, Gabriel and Alicia entered the dock and saw Jade sitting at the top deck of her boat.

    8E0BuTU.png
    BmkDhvT.png

The wind howled through the shed and the coldness began to grip them. She nodded to them and unlocked the door, faces peering out squinting at the fluorescent lights.

Alicia called on radio for 3 of their detail to come and help these people from the boat. The people looked tired and drained from the long boat journey, their stomachs grumbling. A very young boy looked at the High Command quickly casting his eyes down to the ground and became frozen in fear. One of the Vatos who were escorting him pushed him roughly. Jade tilted her head looking at him

“These people are here of their free will, they are not animals.”

    yakawKP.png

    fz9XFlD.png

Carlos took a step inside the container and looked around to ensure no further stowaways had come along. It was completely empty except for the couple of wrappers from food that had been left, an empty shell.

    AYrpQ2C.png

The 3 Aztecas Soldados, heavily armed with AKs, Shotguns and Micros escorted the 15 people back to the Kamachos, 1 sat in a free seat in each and 4 sitting in the back. They placed blankets over them to protect them from the cold, and hide them from any federales.

Carlos and Jade made some small talk and agreed a future deal, shaking hands to seal the business.

    IQHsEYJ.png

He motioned to Alicia to hand over the final part of the payment. She took the envelope and threw it to the woman.

    jBu93wV.png

As they turned to leave, Alicia watched the woman return to her quarters on the ship wondering would she arrive home safely. “Of course she will” she thought to herself.

    HaHq4tj.png

As the Azteca High Command left the shed, they walked out to see their detail ready to leave with 1 sicario standing alongside each vehicle to ensure that none of the people tried to run.

    Xh15Zky.png

    ALwul9H.png

The immigrants did not make a sound, but she caught the eye of one of the women in the back of her Kamacho, the corners of her mouth turning up with a small smile, quickly fading as she heard Carlos’s words.

    “Make the call”

They held their weapons on their laps as they pulled out leaving the dock. The young boy sat in the High Commands Kamacho with his eyes wide watching them lay down their AKs in the middle of the seats. Seeing his nervousness Alicia leaned over and spoke to him

    “Where are your parents?”

    His eyes glazed over.

    “Gone.”

“Why did you come to Los Santos?”

“To make money and escape the cartel who killed my family.”

She could barely hear him whisper over the roar of the engine. Her heart began to sank, he had come to this city to find a new life, and come directly into the world he had just tried to escape.

“We will keep you safe” she smiled to him.

He never spoke for the rest of the journey but his eyes told a million stories.

  12. El Trato (Part 2 of 4)

    "The Deal"

As they pulled out of the airport Jade’s glasses gleamed with the morning sun. Los Santos was beautiful in the daytime. They made some small talk and Alicia drove her through the city followed closely by her detail.

    VGGqqAo.png

They made their way to their city HQ and Alicia tried to make her feel at home surrounded by the beautiful artwork and spray painting that the Aztecas had done to mark the concrete surroundings.

"This reminds me of home. I can see why Kevin loves it around you guys."

After about an hour of driving they pulled down a small alley behind some apartments and stepped out. Jade followed her to a small discrete door which Alicia held open and motioned for everyone to go inside. As they entered she whispered to Gabriel and Jack

“Watch the cars, watch the doors, radio if anything happens”

Knowing outside was safe, they went inside and grabbed a seat at the bar.

When each of the vatos were introduced, she pointed to a private booth

    “Shall we talk business?”

As they moved out, they shook hands and walked back to the cars parked outside.

    “Where to?”
“Back to the airport, I have a flight to catch.”

She nodded and they drove in convoy back to drop her off at the departures gate.

They drove back to the City HQ and called on the radio for the rest of the Aztecas to come. Plans were to be made, until they heard from Jade again.

  13. The Coyote (Part 1 of 4)

With their expansion within the city and the growing number of relationships and businesses they had created, a new opportunity was on the horizon. As they maintained and held many areas, and had grown to gather a large amount of properties there was much business to be had for the Aztecas. One day they were approached by a woman quietly who spoke with a soft voice and a scared demeanor. She knew who they were and knew the risk of who she was speaking to. She let them know that people back home in Mexico were looking to travel to Los Santos to find new opportunities, but the risk of travelling was so great with the federales recently, travelling on fake documents via air was not going to be viable. They were not rich but they were willing to come work as illegals within the city and do whatever was needed to make it in this big rich town.

Travelling across borders has never been easy, it’s dangerous, and most of the vatos knew only too well how they would be extorted, even on arrival in the city. But they also had business to do, their chopshops, drug labs and warehouses needed maintenance for when they were busy and if the federales didn’t have tabs on these undocumented people, it would be easier for them to slip away when duty called them and know their illegal businesses would be maintained. As the vatos stood around discussing their predicament, Kevin Reyes’s eyes lit up and as smirk on his face.

    r4WPn7S.png

“You want a way to get people across the border? I know the best of the best.”
    “Oh yeah?”
“Si, mi hermana, she has a reputation as the best coyote from Mexico, she can get anyone across the border, and as many people as you need”.
    “Call her.”

Kevin stepped away and made a phonecall, pacing up and down the road as he did. He returned back with a huge smile on  his face.

“She has the next flight to Los Santos.”

They checked the flight times and made some arrangements for her accommodation. They knew the dangers that were involved in this, not only for them, but for the poor people who were making this journey. They were coming for a better life in a big city, good people but their english barrier was going to hurt them, they were going to be discriminated against. That’s how this city was. Alicia drove back to El Burro to meet Senorita Mendez to let her know they had a potential contact to bring in her familia. The old woman jumped from her seat and kissed her on the forehead.

“Oh niñita, gracias. They have some amigos who want to travel with them, they are good hard working people”

“I promise I will do my best.”

    “Salud.”

The flight was due to arrive at 10am on Tuesday morning. Kevin had an excited look on his face, he had not seen his sister a long time. He told Alicia all about her, how professional she was and how notorious she was too. Alicia brought all the information back to Carlos to let him know their plans.

“Senorita Mendez says she has 15 people who are looking to come, Kevin’s hermana lands in a few hours.”
“Take a security detail and travel to the airport and pick her up.”

    She nodded to her Jefe.

Alicia checked her watch, it was 8.30am. Kevin checked the flight time, it was on time and not delayed, a surprise in this city at times.

“I will be picking up a delivery today”, she began on the radio, “and need my security detail. I will be waiting in my Tornado at integrity. Be there in 10 minutes”.

As she waited she received a text from Kevin

    "Her name is Jade"

The vatos arrived and as always formed like bodyguards around their Capitaz. Alicia drove the lowrider tailed by 3 Aztecas armed to the teeth with AKs and Micros in a Kamacho, 3 Drags and a Rapid, two times occupied, each one carrying no less than a pistola. She was always so well protected. Kevin pulled up beside Alicia and began to explain to her how much influence Jade Reyes had, and how proficient of a coyote she was. He warned her that she is a business woman, had even gone to business school, but sometimes the apple does not fall far from the tree and their family back home had strong ties to the criminal underworld.

As they drove through the city, the vatos became confused as they made their way to the airport.

“Are we not picking up a delivery?”
    “Oh we are”,
she replied with a smile in her voice.

    bcCGdtc.png

As they cruised through the city, Kevin received a call.

    “I have arrived.”

    d9ilAPU.png

    elhpMa5.png

They pulled into the airport pickup point to see a woman standing surrounded by bags. Over her shoulder was a long braid, she had placed her glasses on her head as she stood in the shade.

They pulled up at the arrivals lounge with the Tornado at the front with an empty seat. Kevin jumped off his bike and ran over to hug Jade. Her eyebrow raised as she looked at the detail that had arrived. Alicia stepped out of her car and walked over to her, putting out her hand

“Alicia Rodriguez, I have heard a lot about you. Can I take your bags?”

    JYGDV2C.png

    Gpu2uuZ.png

Speaking flawless Spanish she responded, much to Alicia's delight, she had not had a chance to use much of her mother tongue since arriving in Los Santos.

    "Jade Reyes, likewise."

Jade nodded and she grabbed the two bags at her feet and placed them in the trunk of the car.

“Let’s go speak somewhere more quiet, but first, would you like a tour of our city?”

“I hope you don’t mind the wind in your hair in this car mamacita”

Jade stepped forward and took a seat in the car before looking behind her again. They pulled out of the airport, each vato carefully following and watching for federales and undercovers or an enemy and drove towards the streets of Los Santos. Alicia could sense a tenseness from her.

"These people are here to protect us."

She placed her glasses over her eyes and looked ahead.

    "Let's Go."
