After level 5 or so it will be faster, the waiting times are alright and if you feel this is a pain wait to reach level 70+ where there are deliveries 40 minutes to 1 hour+ When i first started doing trucking to get some progress i thought the loading/unloading times was super slow and boring untill i reached the high levels and my mind changed, so i would suggest you to be patient and go with it, you can make a new suggestion when you reach 100lvl or so. (currently on level 136)

Labor prices does go to faction treasury. The labor is not that crazy for regular repairs like 350-500, and most time mechanics are charging 0 tho. If your problem is the mods that are 15%-20%, i dont think it expensive unless you mod a really expensive vehicle but at the end of the day as we say in Greece "luxury underwear are for luxury asses"
