We see eye to eye on a lot of things, I'm not one to remove shadows even before it was outlawed, BUT what is the issue if people want to do that? Removing shadows is a part of the game without having to jump through hoops no

No. It is not. You can not disable shadows through in-game settings. You literally have to go digging through config files.

  2. Vehicles used to have no speed cap at which point the vast majority of criminals resorted to a gameplay style that was very unhealthy and made no sense roleplay-wise. This still happens today to various extents, however, because there is a speed cap, the difference between the most meta vehicle and a "roleplay vehicle" is much narrower.

  3. This will not be used as advertised; this will instead be used for questionable roleplay such as taunting law enforcement by people that are wanted for a longer period of time, or to make meme calls.

Additionally, people that want to provide information to law enforcement anonymously can already do so, and have been doing it for years.

  4. Members of the community were previously reported and received punishments for the actions described in the original post. Nothing needs to change further than that, in my opinion. There shouldn't be a fear of saying things in-character, but that shouldn't be abused to low-key attack people out of character via in-character chat either. Server staff can review incidents on a case by case basis, a blanket ban seems excessive.

  5. I do think there is merit in the fact that some people would like to see more fundamental changes, in my opinion, band aids are good.

This is a change that can be discussed and implemented in less than a few days, if there is strong agreement.

Some of the more drastic changes discussed in this thread (which makes them slightly off-topic) would take months and several community heads.

I am in favor of reducing the faction illegal faction cap the same way it was reduced before, if you have more members than the new cap, you do not have to remove them but you can not recruit new people until you are under it.

  6. Alliances were never removed or banned from the server. There is absolutely no issue with any faction currently roleplaying an alliance with another one, supporting each other financially, with weapons, or a wealth of other displays of soft power.

The only thing being restricted is the massive zergs on one frequency which provided absolutely no roleplay. As OP points out, even joint lab holding and other activities are allowed.

Roleplay is not being restricted, and there is no amount of backstory that can justify joint freqs as they were (mis)used in the past.

  7. This is dealt with on a case by case basis, but the general notion is that your main goal should be flight, not murder.

If shooting at cops is done to aid the escape, it is more often than not, totally acceptable. The issues arise when shooting cops becomes the goal, and the escape a pretext.

If someone started a competing business now. There would be no newspaper for them. No place to post their articles. No ads they could run except for in their own publications, which wouldn't be able to be posted anywhere.

You're missing the point of the post. It's not to get apart of the factions. It's to create competition in the city for monopolies that exist.

There was a time when there was no newspaper for weazel, no place to post their articles, no ads they could run, etc.

End of the day it's roleplay, if you stick to it and people are interested in it, they will seek your stuff out.

Plenty of people had RP-based jobs that paid way better than any scripted jobs.

You would be surprised as to how many people who are banned that regret their actions but will never be allowed back, even if they've shown improvement.

A lot of people were allowed back, hundreds by now. The only people that were not allowed back are the ones that have done too much harm to ever 'show improvement'.

  10. I personally find it to be the epitome of playing a game and not roleplaying a character. I do not know of a single realistic scenario in which you would dress up as the enemy in the middle of a shootout. People usually throw around false flag operations but those do not happen with you dressed up as the enemy, those happen with you dressed up as a third party, and are not usually combat missions.

In short, this is a GTA strategy and I do not like to see it.

    +1

Also on an off-topic note, I think this is the first time I've ever seen a suggestion split by faction lines.

People can say it's a skill issue or they can passive-aggresively try to say you're not here to rp for not automatically agreeing with everything they say. Its all irrelevant because nobody is doing it and that's the only thing that really matters.

That is incorrect. Just because you do not see it does not mean it does not happen. I have knowledge of at least two chop shops being operated in the past couple of days, three if you include the one from the robbery video above.

Hans, we need ze Flammenwerfer, there are too many cockroaches outside.

    Back to topic.

Kinda broken for 200k, not gonna lie. You will never make that money back, when being discovered and you will be, with the sweet /showvehicles .

with NPC vehicles you do not need to worry about /showvehicles

A chop shop setup is ~200k, a 4 table 1 vent setup is ~80k; the prices that you're quoting are not set by the server, it's what your character is being asked to pay by other characters, therefore, a result of roleplay.

I think your complaint is a valid point if you want to mainly play this game to grind money, but roleplaying is supposed to be about interactions. If you make good connections with criminal organizations you can get everything you named in there for less than 500k (and I mean a full chop setup, an RV lab setup, a 1G and the actual RV).

However if you just run around with an OOC friend or two, then yes, it is much harder to play criminal.
