    Application Accepted - Pending Interview

    Dear Sophia AnnaMarie,

Thank you for your patience while we decided your suitability for employment at Weazel News.

We are pleased to inform you that you have passed our preliminary standards and we'd like to invite you in for an interview.

    Please carry out the following steps;

    - Read over our employee handbook at WENN - Employee Handbook

    - Join our employee website ((Discord)) and register using the same name you used in your application. ((Weazel Discord))

    - Stop by Weazel News HQ and ask for a member of Human Resources or a Department Manager to conduct an interview for you. Alternatively you can use our request system ((/newsagency)) while at the HQ stating, 'I would like an interview if any Management is available.' and await a response. (We ask that you do not attempt to gain an interview before 2 hours after this response, allowing you time to read through our handbook.)

Be reminded that the interview is only valid for two weeks from this post. [Deadline: 10 May 2024]

We look forward to seeing you soon.

    Regards,

    Amie Koal M.D., CST, PT

    Human Resources Assistant

While overall I'd think this is a good idea, I think there should be a 2-stage confirmation or something because as we often find as a whole community typing the correct ID can be interesting sometimes, so I suggest adding a way to confirm the ID you selected is correct before applying the actual rating. Especially when doing a /badrp as it would be unfair if it's incorrectly added to someone else!

Edit: This is controlled with the current limited range.

I think that removing it would not benefit the server, nor do I think it wouldn't take anything away, it shouldn't matter what someone's experience is and if it is affecting people's interactions with others then it would become a problem.

What would make the OP believe that someone didn't want to attempt a robbery due to XP? It sounds like a specific scenario that has been described and isn't a common occurrence on the server.

But if I saw @hrxvey in a lab I'd 100% still rob him because I know he can't shoot.

I think that this change is positive, and doesn't take away RP as claimed.

As for tacking, being in a foot chase has always been rinse and repeat for the past few years. If you're close enough to the LEO - you get tazed, and cuffed, if you're too far then you probably get boxed in and cuffed. Having a different option that allows both sides of a scenario to attempt to outplay each other in a light-hearted and enjoyable way will improve the experience of the player. In addition, the tackling has been used in a fun way already by players, simply to have fun with each other in their own groups, and I'm sure that the rag dolling will be improved, etc. But even as it stands now it's been widely received as fun.

For the cuffing, perhaps a small 5% of cuffing RP could be considered interesting. Just yesterday, I was tazed, and by the time I was recovered, somebody typed out "/me attempts to pull her arms to the rear." and I replied, "/me would try and resist." They said "/do How?" and I said, "/do by pulling her arms away". As soon as I typed that out, they took a step back, shot me with a tazer again then repeated their line of roleplay. There is no development there and it doesn't provide a positive experience for me. With this new system, it's going to take a slow, boring, and repetitive situation, which you're probably going to lose as a portion of members in certain factions will taze you until the "/b you can't resist because you've been tazed 3 times" message, to a dynamic, and much quicker (in a good way) situation.

  5. @Osvaldon I did an in-game report, and @Chunder tried as well and had the same issue. 😞

It doesn't say tracer in the wheel, just 'No Attachments' or 'Flashlight' when I use that attachment too.

It does remove 'normal' ammo when the attachment is used. And prevents me from loading tracer ammo without it fitted.

(I have tried closing the game completely and re-opening it, same happens)

  6. Date and time (provide timezone): 1691780200

    Character name: Amie_Koal

Issue/bug you are reporting: Cannot fire '9mm Rounds' with the tracer modification with a Heavy Pistol, which has the tracer attachment.

Expected behavior:  The weapon should fire tracer bullets through the gun when ammo is loaded.

Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicatejTrDQzr.pnghvmYDZ0.pngTuAYKej.pngcWSRPQn.pnge8Nxy3B.png(no ammo shown in top right, and weapon doesn't fire)

  7. +1!

I'm not really familiar with black history month, I thought it was more about education for black heritage, and focusing on iconic people of colour throughout history. Which I believe is important to cover academically. But for an 'event' I think the idea that @ArcAngel put looks really cool! Making the event more about expressing traditions and cultures that are often over-shadowed by the 'norm' of western society.

Perhaps members of the community could make speeches about their experiences, and their culture that they wish to be proud of, or raise awareness to?

Regardless of what the actual format ends up being, cook-out, parade/carnival etc. I think it's a good idea!

  8. Hello!

I had a brief look through previous suggestions and I didn't see anything about this, so I thought I would put this thought out there!

The idea is to treat salary like cash when you have debt owed.

    What's the issue?

When you are in debt after serving time in jail/prison, you are able to put cash into an ATM to begin to pay off your debt, 50% of the total amount of cash that you deposit will go toward your debt payoff, and the remaining 50% goes into your normal bank, allowing you to use the funds. However, salary is different when you attempt to claim it while in debt, as 100% of your salary goes toward paying off the debt you owe. If you do have more in your salary than what your debt total is then you'll receive the remainder to your bank.

Now, if you are someone who has stacked up a lot of debt due to mischief through large scale crimes, numerous tickets or whatever your situation maybe, you could be in an extremely large amount of debt. If you wished to turn a new leaf and start doing freelance work, or working under a legal faction, all of the money that is earned into your salary is completely thrown at the debt pile and you receive 0% to use.

This becomes an issue when, over the course of your debt pay off, you cannot afford simple items, like food, drink and clothing. Which can severely impact a character's ability to function in the city.

    What could be done?

I think that a solution to this is to allow the same ruling of inputting cash into an ATM, with its 50% to debt, 50% to bank ratio and applying it to salary too would benefit the server in a small way.

It makes sense as being in that much debt that you can not physically gain access to food without begging and pleading for bank transfers and cash donations.

Let me know what you think of this idea!

I'm kinda against this, simply because of the 'discussing' charges side of things. Saying that you'll be in prison for an hour and a half for murder just sounds stupid, referring to it as 90 months feels more of a grand timescale. Saying months really doesn't bother me, and assists with immersion of conversations, so in my opinion there isn't a reason to change it.

    The format here:

On 3/29/2023 at 11:35 PM, Chunder said:

Prison roleplay guide that has been approved by HA states:

    79VmYS2.png
(although its a little outdated from the new /jtime format)

doesn't match the IC penal code's timescale, so perhaps this could all be clarified to sync with each other.

  10. Hello!

I am a huge fan of the genre of RP, it is been really fun to immersive myself into all sorts of situations in my time on the server, however something has bugged me for a very long time now, and it's uncapped hours for legal jobs. Now this may lead to IC effects, however from an OOC perspective I'd like to see how people would view this suggestion.

If you aren't aware, most legal jobs require people to be on faction duty for over a certain period of time. But there is no cap. In the real world, employers won't allow people to work over time due to local laws, and other things like budget. So why do we here? I would propose a maximum cap be flexible from department to department, perhaps maximum of 50 hours per week, for example.

    This idea is to make it so that there is a limit for the amount of time people will be allowed to be on duty for, or at least paid for, hear are the benefits and drawbacks;

    Pros;

    - Less grinding mindset from Legal players. (People complain about criminals grinding for money, why should legals be treated differently.)

    - Encourage players to play their characters off duty, actually bringing their character to life, as oppose to sleeping in the PD locker room.

    - OOC health benefits, spending 10+ hours a day behind a computer screen isn't too great for health, I'm not your mother but I wouldn't say it was a con.

    - Prioritise RP over Time. Players who are on duty for 100 hours in a week, how much of that is interacting with others, developing your character. Less is more.

    Cons;

    - People will take longer to save up money for homes, vehicles and other assests.

    - People who really don't want to roleplay outside of their job, and don't want to develop their character outside of their faction will lose the chance to earn more money from their hours.

I'd love to hear feedback on this!

  11. DISCLAIMER: Graphics, Formats and Pictures will be added in a couple of weeks. Keep a look out! 🙂

    SOMETHING MISSING

There was something missing in the city. For too long have the same types of gangs with rebranded names and colours hit the streets of Los Santos, with the same pattern of destruction and mayhem, which force government bodies to equip themselves with state-of-the-art armouries, vehicles and technology. It was time for something different. On the evening of a cold winters day, Chloe sat in her car, tapping her steering wheel listening to the news on the radio.  As she scanned the dimly-lit street she rested on, her mind wandered off back home to Rotterdam in the Netherlands, remembering the times spent as a teenager pranking strangers, smoking weed and getting in to trouble. She missed it. Laying back into her cushioned seat, she smiled and thought "Why not do it all again?" "I've got all this freedom, and what do I do with it? Live in fear of the police?". Chloe convinced herself it was time for a new kind of gang. She set her eyes on Dutch-London Street. This would be the place where she could get the thrill she once loved and bring it to life again...

    LORE

Maaiers Van Vrijheid (Pronounced roughly as: My-Ers Von Fry-Hide) is a Dutch Street Gang, based off of the idea of young, chaotic youths in western European countries. Style, vehicles and attitude will largely reflect young gang members, the use of mopeds, sporty hatchbacks, and low-mid range vehicles will be key identifiers along with the Orange and White primary colours of vehicles and dress. The gang is intended to be 'inexperienced' and is encouraged to interact with PD naturally, with unique and enjoyable scenarios. While street crimes such as store robberies, car chopping and low level drug dealing is encouraged, those who wish to make more money by attaching to bank jobs, making large amounts of high end drugs and dealing firearms may do so within the gang's lore, additionally taking up legal jobs such as freelance work is also within the scope of the gang's lore, however these will not be apart of the gangs main priorities. Additionally, under the direction of gang leadership MV will engage in random events to prompt responses from other factions opening doors to fun, positive roleplay scenarios where 'losing' is just as enjoyable as winning.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Players MUST have a positive roleplay mindset. Play-to-win mentality, Toxicity, Rule-breaking and other negative attributes will not be tolerated.
    • Players MUST speak and type IC and OOC in English at all times. (Apart from lore-friendly terms and phrases, which will be discussed with Gang Leadership).
    • Players wishing to join MUST have 5k xp on the server, (Must not have the (( NEW PLAYER )) banner.)
    • Members are to be fairly active within the gang, to account for those who have legal or other characters they enjoy playing, along with real-life commitments, MV will not enforce a minimum requirement for activity, however RP notices will be posted and activity noted.

    IC OBJECTIVES

    • Establish a presence in South Los Santos.
    • Meet with other gangs in the area, discuss goals.
    • Create a connection for a solid supply of weaponry.
    • Get recruitment started.
    • Give LEOs something to think about...

    OOC OBJECTIVES

    • Provide positive and enjoyable roleplay for LEOs.
    • Assist new and old criminal players to enhance their roleplay.
    • Maintain a lore appropriate gang without over-reaching due to money or benefit.
    • Get recruitment started.
    • Have a new experience in the criminal roleplay scene on ECRP.

    STRUCTURE

Unlike most gangs, there is not a defined hierarchy in MV. Instead there is simply the leadership (who makes the calls on recruitment, is the face of the gang, and deals with diplomacy.), specialised roles (who have been seen to be good in specific areas, and will be assigned jobs and missions to match their expertise) and then everyone else (the main 'man-power' of the gang.). To reflect real-life gangs, 'rank' is built on experience, respect and character development.

    RANKS

    Gang Leadership

    • de Hollanders - Decides on recruitment, retention, diplomacy and current affairs.

    Gang Members

    • het Vlees - All members who are not in the leadership and have passed a trial phase will be apart of the main body (Vlees meaning Flesh) of the gang. Those who don't hold a specialised role will assist in all areas.
    • de Daklozen - Those who have shown an interest in joining the gang, but have yet to be put through their trial by de Hollanders.

    Specialist Roles

    • het Hart - A financial aid to the gang, provides drugs, guns, car parts and other profitable items to dealers to increase black-market activity in southern Los Santos.
    • het Brein - A plan maker, has been known to come up with creative and unique ideas for roleplay.
    • de Vandal - An infamous member of the gang, known to be a troublemaker, shown creativity with interactions with LEOs and/or other factions.

The initial suggestion I disagree with. However like you pointed out in a comment, I think it would make sense ICly, and also cover your concerns too, if you could only see ads while your phone is on.

If you think about it, how does your character 'see' ads? I'd imagine through notifications on your phone. So turning your phone off will eliminate that. When you turn it back on, the stream of ads would resume.

As a side thing, Weazel have IC policies regarding how many ads can be run, which allows a quality of life for players so it doesn't spam your chatbox!

  13. Welcome!

Eclipse is full of players with all levels of experience, some have been playing for years, others have played on other servers in the past, and some, like yourself are brand new to this genre of GTA!

Hopefully you'll find a path you'd like to roleplay!

Best advise: Talk to people! Interact. You can meet some very interesting characters!

As much as I know that people who play legal factions with a salary will likely agree with a nerf, I stand to disagree. (I am a legal main.)

For starters, as @LegitxBuddy says, when DOC is busy, you are definitely limited in your ability to capitialise on the system, especially the new laundry job as there is often competition for people to sabotage, steal and simply spread the stamps across more people. Which is what it seems to be designed for.

The main reason I disagree with a nerf of the new DOC jobs is an OOC reason to be honest, which is that it dramatically improves the quality of life of the player while in DOC. Being able to not worry on behalf of your character as much about a fine that your character got while roleplaying in their criminal mindset allows people to step away from the 'grinding' mindset, and will definitely encourage people to step out a little more with interaction with LEOs which overall improve their experience too. It will no doubt reduce toxicity among the Criminal vs. Cops arena which has been quite a large issue for sometime, and it also encourages more RP while IN DOC which has been needed for so long. Also just the enjoyment in DOC, if someone robs your stamps, or you die, you're no longer hopelessly clawing to get by if your criminal isn't yet established financially, instead you can keep positive and enjoy DOC much much more.

If you are worried how much that a criminal who is cleaning up the prison, washing all the clothes and is no longer interested it tabbing out for 2 hours, or starting fights because there is nothing to do, is making in stamps then you are allowed to quit your legal job, OR you can see the benefits with it as a server as a whole and dive in with more roleplay scenarios with inmates who aren't as likely to fight you because they are upset about OOCly about their circumstance. If people are clearly getting charges to 'grind' in DOC, then that is an opportunity then for the staff team to discuss enforcement of 'cop-baiting' and NRP rules as a whole.

To round up, unlike those who are in the DOC faction, Criminal RP doesn't start and stop when entering DOC. DOC is a cog in the big cycle of roleplay which has always been negative for criminals, and now there is a much needed turn around that the community as a whole will benefit from. Don't just think of the money, it's a GTA Roleplay Server, people want to have fun, and now they can in such an area where it was much harder to enjoy before.
