I know even if you smash your phone /delphone and dont log out they can still track your phone until you re-log. It is claimed this bug is fixed but it seems it is not. I am sure this can be tested quite easily. I would also recommend the phone to be a physical item like the radio so it is the item being tracked and could be left at a spot to decoy the cops etc . or in a bag of drugs for example. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Get chased by the cops with your phone off and watch them swarm. This is an example of how @Dashingly had deleted his phone near Richmond Glen but was able to be tracked still.
