Poker Fix/Updates

:963_heavy_dollar_sign:  POKER FIX/UPDATES  :963_heavy_dollar_sign:

As a fan of Poker, I feel there are some adjustments needed.

I encourage all people who enjoy Poker in the community to speak up and leave a comment or suggestion to get the ball rolling on this one. These are only ideas and they are not perfect. Please feel free to add any constructive thoughts!

Here are a few issues:

  1. Split pots don't split properly
  2. During a 1v1, aka heads up, if a player is all in, the other player can continuously bet for no reason
  3. No time limit when it's your turn
  4. Have to spam 'Y' to get a seat if it's busy
  5. Character models constantly moving/twitching/glitching through chairs/squeaking shoes/not facing table
  6. Playing options (raise, check, call, fold) disappear if you press ESC button during your turn
  7. Flushes, straights, and river wins come up nearly every hand (not sure if this is intentional or by chance)
  8. Hands should not be counted to 6 cards but should be counted to 5. Ex. both players have a flush, the kicker should not be counted.
  9. ATM outside of Tequilala is usually empty.

Suggestions:

  1. Hand timer! Some players go AFK during the game. We shouldn't need to call an admin, but instead just have their hand folded when the timer has expired.
  2. Have the player list in chronological order so it matches the table order
  3. Make player list more visually appealing (smaller, have a separate space for cash, bet, and pot)
  4. We should be able to join a queue so people don't need to spam 'Y' to join a game. When a seat becomes available, first person is seated
  5. Remove 30 second join time between hands if queue is implemented
  6. Have Low/High stakes poker tables. Ex. $50k max limit to join low stakes table and $50k minimum to join high stakes table. You can't put someone with $5k and $500k next to each other on a poker table.
  7. Heads Up table. 'Bingo' is what some players do when they raise a predetermined amount before the flop and will play the hand out through checking.
  8. When you make a call and a player after you re-raises, it should give you the option to call showing the amount difference. Ex. I Call $200, player after me raises to $600, I should then have the option to call with $400 instead of $600.
  9. Need to be able to customize bet amount. If players want to bet a specific amount, they should have that option.
  10. Increase limit on ATM outside of Tequilala. Big money changes hands quickly at poker and it would be nice to have players not needing to go to the bank each time.

I've heard some talk going around town that there might be a casino update some time soon. If that's the case, now may be the time to make considerations for the future of our beloved game.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post,

Please make Poker rules more accurate (don’t allow 6 card hands!)

Currently, the game will not recognize a split pot when both players have a straight. It will identify the player’s hand with a higher kicker and name them the winner.

This is inaccurate, in Hold’Em, the hand is made with the best 5 cards. A straight would take all 5 of those cards and thus a kicker should not apply.

screenshot included, demonstrating inaccurate Poker rules. The pot should be split as both players have a 9-high straight (5-6-7-8-9). However, the game adds the player’s Queen kicker as a 6th card to his hand, violating the rules of poker mandating that a hand be exactly 5 cards.
