This cop doesn't care about RP, tbh.

Recommended Posts

I'm not uploading this in any IC capacity, but like, real talk, Look at this guy.

This cop (I'm told his forum moniker is Zane?) like... Doesn't even care about the role he's playing. He just does whatever the fuck he wants. And not in any IC capacity. The way he just blows through everything without emotion or even any interaction just gives me the idea that he doesn't give a shit.

I would be less offended if I knew he was just a corrupt cop IC, but like, the way he has all the cop buttons macro'ed up and doesn't even interact in character, doesn't speak, gives no real gestures or descriptive /me's? It feels like he doesn't care. Which is gross.

Gimmie your thoughts;

For one how do you know he is a crime man lol. For two it is very possible those men could have cut a deal  based on information the man gave the two cops releasing the man. Why people automatically assume corruption is beyond me. Could they have done it at a different location sure but as you can see a regular coo car passed the scene. The undercover is obviously a higher ranking officer so yes icly those cops where probably pissed because they where out on investigations and they had to deal with it. I def don't see anything wrong other then a bunch of idiots running around the street of a dying man now thats quality RP that's all I got to say. Next time make it easier for cops and stay out of the way and not be obnauctious

You know what? That is a fair line of speculation; And were every one of those variables true? I would happily accept being wrong.

That said, them doing absolutely nothing about that guy who previously pulled a gun to my face and told me to fuck off doing the exact opposite of everything they say, and even accepting "I don't listen to the fucking cops" as an answer is a little ridiculous.

I would like to believe that your speculations are correct, but as of right now, it just seems like you're giving him an unhealthy excess of the benefit of the doubt.
For some reason?
It's weird.

I'm curious as to why the man would have been cuffed if he were an informant. tbh. I'm curious as to why they would cut a trade deal sparked by the serendipitous occasion of stumbling upon my dying friend.

And regardless of rank, Most of the time a cop sees a person dying in the road, They usually strive to assist them.

I will put my hand up and say that there was a moment when he was driving away that I mistakenly thought I'd be able to ICly hear them. Which was a rookie mistake, tbh; It's like... My first week.

I just can't figure why he wouldn't have arrested that man in white; Anybody else that wasn't him would guaranteed have been in cuffs. I can't help but imagine it's either collusion or an OOC lack of motivation.

It would be interesting if it were collusion, tbh.
It would make his character Stonewalling my attempt to let him clear up the situation all the more funny-- Because I asked him if he could clarify-- He told Harlow "There's no way I'll tell you" or some sort-- And then calls Harlow a "fucking retard" for thinking there's corruption as he immediately freezes up and goes on the defensive. Lol

Though from my interactions with him, he didn't really seem to stand out as a particularly masterful actor. It sorta sounded like he was just speaking Semi OOC out of spite to me-- As much as I'd like to give him that benefit of the doubt, the venom in his words seemed a tad "personal".

And then the part where they started defending the man in white? fumbling over the "two crimes don't make a crime" thing...
Again, doesn't lead much credence to the idea that they were exempt of malice. They seemed pretty defensive.

Well I mean we get a ton of cop calls someone robbed me or threatened me with a gun. We can't go to every call but I would recommend going to the police with evidence enough to detain and search the subject. Can't just go up to a cop and say someone pointed a gun to your face and expect them to get arrested, we need evidence witnesses CCTV footage etc with this we can create a case for us detectives to investigate. Other then that all I can say for you to get good rp with the cops is not bombard them with a different situation when there is Current situation going on. I know you are new and I can tell you bad mouthing cops that do a lot to improve rp of the server is not the way to go. If you have any IC issue of a cop report it to internal affairs on the government website. Don't post negative things it will go no where other then get you hated and or just cause a huge argument which could be prevented. We do a lot of things and deal with a lot of stupid shit of non RPing civs but we report then oocly we don't talk crap we try to better the standards of rp. I would encourage you to apply for PD to see what kind of stuff we deal with icly and oocly plus you will get a lot of Great RP

And oocly the man in white is arrogant and in my opinion he was just cop baiting by harassing the police in the middle of the road yelling back talking which he always does some cops deal with people like that differently you can either ignore them or icly Rip them a new one but all that situation would have lead to is a civ getting chased in a exotic car with non rp jumps and crashes then a non rp shootout all because he didn't obey so you can see why we would sometimes let stupid shit like that slide

And I can understand why you are upset but going to a forum and saying a PD member fails at RP is not a good way to go about it lol. I RP with that cop all the time we always interrogate inmates give them a chance etc with loads of good RP. But everyone has the right to there own opinion hope this clears a bit up hope to see you in game.

You seem to be operating under the assumption that I was doing any of those things.

When I called the cops on the man in white, the arrived thusly; and in huge force, actually. And there was a huge chase that ensued.
A TON of cops showed up. And I'm sure it was exhilarating for them! Because it was a group of like... 6+ shady figures with fast cars and big guns.

That said, I appreciate your approach to help better the efficacy of RP in the server. But this guy doesn't seem to be part of that effort.
The only reason I'm not posting this in character is because I wasn't recording when he let that criminal go back to his criminal friend. It is absolutely undeniable that that man was letting everything the man in white did fly. Whether because of OOC or IC collusion doesn't matter to me personally.

Longform into shortform: Thank you for the warning; But I'm not going to let this guy shit on me while making exception for the man in white.

Note: He wasn't treating him as if he was cop-baiting. There was interaction. If he was treating him as if he was cop-baiting, He would have made efforts to tell him OOC that he should stop. Don't you think? Do you think you might be a bit biased in this situation?

Anyway; We had a healthy conversation, and I'm glad we could. Thank you for providing avocation in the opposite direction. You've given me some things to think about, to be sure, but I can't say you've swayed my opinion.

Food for thought: Notice that despite being Weazel news, I haven't made a post about every single cop that tells me to "move back" from a crime scene?
That's because those people actually seem to make an effort to play a character-- As opposed to just playing themselves.

Not biased I'm sure those cops had a reason I can't speak for their actions I'm just telling you my opinion from what I saw in the video. I wasn't on the scene or see the video of the crime that happened to you so I can say maybe a cop didn't fully investigate but that's a good thing to take icly into internal affairs. See you in game
