ogmudbone Posted March 22, 2020 Report Posted March 22, 2020 (edited) I've seen many complaints on the forums about LE factions receiving unlimited weapons and that LEOs are careless when going into gunfights. I'm not sure if this has been suggested before or if it's possible but here's my suggestion. We have weapon shipments for law enforcement factions. Crates of weapons are delivered into San Andreas by the aircraft carrier. (It can be crates of weapons like for criminals or "materials" which is converted into weapons) They're unloaded by a division of LSPD or SD (or maybe a new faction) onto boats and delivered to the port of LS. The crates are then loaded onto trucks by forklifts and delivered to law enforcement headquarters around San Andreas. This allows criminals a chance to steal weapons along their route (maybe with some OOC rules like official factions only). Shipments can be made on a schedule and allows for corrupt cops to leak this schedule. If the trucks arrive successfully to HQ, the crates are unloaded by forklifts and delivered inside. If the system uses "material points", each crate has a certain amount of materials (let's say 500). The faction a total amount of points used for weapons/gear. So .50 pistols costs 10 points and half a vest costs 5 points. When a member of the faction takes out a weapon/gear, points are deducted from the total amount. This would force cops to be fearful of dying often because they only have a limited supply of gear. When a cop dies they lose all gear like it is now but it's RP'd as lost gear. So if high commands sees a certain officer losing too much gear, they're punished (idk if this can be tracked). When materials points reaches zero, then the LE faction is in trouble so they have to have shipments frequent and on time. If a gang steals one of these crates, they can be stored in their warehouse and the materials can be converted into weapons by some RP (maybe something similar to how drugs are made). If the system is like the system for criminals now, weapons are physically stored inside the LE factions' armoury and when an officer goes on duty, they take whatever they need. Another location where weapons could be produced is Fort Zancudo. Trucks are loaded there and deliver to LE factions around SA. Edited March 22, 2020 by ogmudbone
Osborn Posted March 22, 2020 Report Posted March 22, 2020 Hello. As previous suggestions, we have no intentions to let legal factions be looted off weapons which this essentially results in. Quote If a gang steals one of these crates, they can be stored in their warehouse and the materials can be converted into weapons It has been explained in detail on about 5 suggestions already why we don't want this to happen. While we appreciate the suggestion, this system sounds like a system tried on SA-MP which was supported by an army faction, which had access to weaponized vehicles that was often used to protect the transports and facilities holding the crates. This is something that we don't have and most likely won't have in future, and I am sure that the criminal side of this community appreciate the fact that we don't (an army that is). As for equipment (weapons / vehicles) having a cost to the faction, it's simply not supported by the script right now, but I'd imagine that the developers has planned for weapons and vehicles to deduct a certain amount from the faction treasury. I will go ahead and close this before it kicks off, and refer you to read previous suggestions on this subject. - Osborn. 1
