Police being held accountable

Recommended Posts

My character is a defense attorney and throughout my year and a half of being a defense attorney I have gotten many people out of charges they should’ve never had. Putting in an IA complaint normally never works out for anyone. This server is considered a serious RP server. IRL if someone is to wrongfully arrest someone you can face civil and/or criminal charges. At the very least there are consequences with your department. It seems that cops are given a lot of leeway when it comes to this. I’ve heard this from people when I had first joined the server in 2022. It’s known that cops can arrest people and if the person is later found not guilty the cop walks out and continues on with their shift like nothing happens. I know that cops get a lot of comments made about their factions, and half of the time I am on the cops side. I just feel that if cops were to be punished more for wrongful arrests they would be a lot more careful on their arrests or they would study the penal code more like attorneys do. From the people that have left the server I continue to hear how upset they are with police factions being able to get away with as much as they do. I am mainly making this post to help better the server and keep the server population up.
