Fuel drains too quickly, which feels unrealistic. I suggest doubling the fuel price but making vehicles last 2.5x–3x longer before needing a refill.
Also, add driving modes with mapped gear ratio, and not just high revs:

• Economical Mode – Slower acceleration, less fuel consumption.

• Normal Mode – Balanced speed and fuel usage.

• Sport Mode – Higher acceleration and top speed, but higher fuel consumption.

I think the modes are pretty cool

but driving longer with the fuel could lead into some car chases last for hours, eventualy ruining rp, i dont think its still exciting after 2 hours chase let alone 4 hours

agree with you, that's why people use  electric vehicles for that the most (lacarousse....)
but you know and we all know that most chases end up with accidents not running out of fuel

If you want your fuel to last longer, you can already get those benefits through VIP perks.

There is not a single VIP perk that mimics what this suggestion is about other then fuel draining quickly. My Diamond VIP does not give me "driving modes"

There are two parts to the suggestion, one is the fuel lasting longer before needing to refill, and the other is driving modes. I said above, "If you want your fuel to last longer, you can already get those benefits through VIP perks." In general, the VIP perk allows your fuel to last longer regardless of how you drive. It is quite relevant and already covers what the OP suggests.
