Recommended Posts

Date and time (provide timezone):

Character name: Daniel Myers

Does this issue appear again after a full game restart?: YES

How many times did this issue appear for you?: EVERY TIME

Issue/bug you are reporting: MAJOR lag spikes every time you go across the bridge to cayo, (Severity varies from instance to instance. 50/50 chance of the game completely shutting down)

Expected behavior:  driving across the bridge without the game freezing

Evidence (MUST provide either UNEDITED photo or video) , notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate

Whenever you have a GPS on you and you cross the bridge to Cayo Perico. The game freezes (sometimes boots you out entirely)
However when you do not have a GPS on you, there's no issue. Meaning this glitch/bug/freeze is related to the GPS.

Vehicle license plate number*: N/A

In order for Cayo Perico to function, the game requires you to unload the entirety of San Andreas and load Cayo Perico's island instead. I'd be surprised if there wasn't any lag, to be honest.

This load occurs around midway on the bridge.

Update on this:

Today I was in Cayo (without GPS), and got into a car with a GPS in the glovebox. (causing the minimap to appear on my UI)
As soon as I got into the car. the glitch happened and my game froze for a good 8-10 seconds.

I think this further proves the issue is linked to the GPS, and not the loading/unloading of assets on the main GTA V map.

Issue still exists, Had to do a full PC reboot while crossing the Cayo brigde at high speed with a GPS in the glovebox.

Tested it since (with GPS in my trunk, so i dont have a minimap) and VOILA! NO ISSUE!

I therefore believe this entire bug is created by the gps (or the GPSblips maybe?)
