I believe this is the proper forum to discuss something like this, I'm a little bit of a boomer to this scene so apologies if this is in the wrong spot

Restaurants and bars

 

I'd like to bring forward an idea of a restaurant/Bar to have the ability to have custom food/drinks. Items that they could rename and price.

Essentially burgershot's ability to make custom foods and sell them with the recipe tables. (That they could buy at the furniture stores.)

There really isn't much in spite of burger shot that I've noticed besides the convience stores where I can find something to eat. And most of the restaurants that I've seen are never really open. 

((I was having a discussion with a restaurant owner asking her how it's fairing. She stated that she had to compile a bit of food to make a transaction over a 1000 dollars. So I assume there isn't cash register either? That definitely needs to be amended.))

My other idea to pull in customers is to actually have some activities inside the bars.

 

Pinball/arcade

Darts

Billiards 

(A possible leader board would attract attention and bragging rights)

To help pull ppl in and stay there. It would add a lot to the city and most of it should be in the base game (minus Billiards, but that could just be a top down version the two players get into like an instance, like on a basic browser game, because I think the angle to play the game would be a bit rough.)

 

It could really add some diversity to the city as well. I.E. sushi / Indian curry / bakeries. The delicacies could be endless.

 

ammunation/Gunstores.

 

My other idea would be for people to be able to use the gun range for a price with a limited amount of ammo. To hone their skills and test out the firearms.

 

It could bring some foot traffic to these areas and help these businesses create extra income and a place for ppl to gather.

 

I would assume some type of safeguard, like locking them in the range while they have the ammo would help from any type of rule breaks/theft. Or a Dropbox to put the weapon back.

 

I recently had a job interview and the interviewer asked me what I liked to do in the city and I drew a blank. So I've been mulling over some ideas that wouldn't be too difficult to implement, I believe. 

 

Also, a quick add - 

 

Golfing - a simple driving range

Tennis - down by the beach there was a court for it

I like some of these ideas, but i dont think they are currently something we have the development capability to implement. 

For context, The only minigames the server currently has is the circular skillcheck one, and casino games.

The casino update was a herculan effort. Easily one of the biggest updates to hit the server, unfortunately its not really used all that much right now. The ideas of pinball, billiards, golf etc....it feels like alot of work and our dev team isnt exactly huge...I heard through the grapevine that they are working on making new skillcheck minigames but i think thats all you can hope for in the short to medium term.

With scripted restaurants...theres alot of barriers there too. Multiple layers of development and even then the most popular order in burgershot currently is fries and a water. I know bala has some excellent ideas for that but when it comes to more food establishments, the truth is the city dosent need more of them. 2 scripted restaurants in the state and then all the vending machines and stores you can buy food out of too.

Now, people do own private restruants, pubs, bars, clubs, all kinds of places. But its very much a "make your own RP, dont rely on script" type deal. But youll often see them advertised and they can be fun experiences, but the sad truth is most of them operate at a loss. People work jobs so they can afford to run events out of their private businesses 

I like the idea of the gun range you can use so long as you hold any kind of legal gun licence. It would probably have to be instanced, to stop people abusing it, but it could be fun and yes indeed bring more people into what is probably the least profitable scripted business you can own.

+1 server needs more scripts for these types of things would be great to see. I can't imagine adding golf would be very complicated considering it's a base game mechanic
