"Patch Notes"

Not really sure where to put this so I guess I'll put it here. This is in no way supposed to be negative, this is simply my POV and if I am wrong then please go about explaining it to me in a healthy and constructive way.

I'd like to start out by saying that the U menu is a great addition, its a lot better than explaining different commands to new players in /b where they might not be looking all the time. It happens all the time when they ignore /do or /me rp in chat, simply because they dont know how to do it themselves. Its also harder to explain what these different commands do to a newer player especially if they've never played GTA RP before. So the U menu is a fantastic addition as it not only provides what the command/usage is called, but also what it does in detail so a new player can understand it better. Additionally it also adds a lot of stuff in one area for new players to get accustomed to.

Now for the main reason for this post. It feels like the team at ECRP are cooking with this U menu update. Recently it seems they've been pushing for a lot of things to be moved from "/" commands to the U menu even if it proves a little annoying or time consuming. My only question is "Why?" And it sounds kind of rude cause I know people worked on this for some time and I dont fully understand it so I wont pretend to, but I think it would be healthy for the community if we had some context added with every big update, i.E like "patch notes" so to speak. I'm sure theres a reason for pushing the U menu so much I just wish we'd know instead of checking the "Development" channel on discord and seeing the multitude of new things added to the U menu, maybe the list of things AND a note at the end telling us why they're pushing it so hard, or why they're removing commands.

Like I said its no way intended to sound like complaining or anything of the sort, I just thought I'd come on here and suggest a little communication. I for one am very appreciative that the dev team has been putting in WORK after the clothing update. After the clothes dropped its been banger after banger after banger. My only complaint is the lack of communication. Thats all, thanks for reading!

Commands, whilst amazing for people who have spent the time to learn the ins and outs of them (and even some misspelt commands), is a HUGE barrier for entry for a new player. I think the reason behind it is obvious, it's easier. Sure to Joe Bloggs who's been on the server 4 years and learned half the commands as they were released over the years, typing it is easier, especially during the adjustment period but overall, nearly every command that's been moved across is easier and less keystrokes with arrow keys to do.
They have done patch notes in the past for major new additions and features, but not really for these Quality of Life adjustments which is probably why we haven't seen one for this, but probably mainly because it is self-explanitory why it was implemented.

Side note, the reason the commands are removed is because he doesn't want to maintain 2 systems for it, so instead is moving them over and I imagine new things will be put in there as they come.

Love the response, but not exactly what I was talking about. When they add these changes they've been removing the ability to use commands, you no longer can do /dropbody you have to hit U and hit drop body, this could prove to be a problem in an active pvp scenario where youre trying to save a friend. I would just like to know why commands have been removed alongside the additions is all.

^ This is why.

And while I do understand this, a lot of the stuff moved to U menu and removed as a command, some stuff makes it a little irritating like changing your radio binds has become a lot more of a hassle. By no means is it a "Major" issue, I would just prefer that the community is given a lot more insight onto these kinds of things to avoid a lot of frustrations.
