Charlie2231 Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 From what I’ve seen irl PD doesn’t go patrolling with jaguars and other high speed vehicles likes that, they stick to more standard vehicles.
Ash Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 And irl half the population doesn’t excessively speed over 2x the limit and evade police, it’s a balance between irl and game mechanics. I also believe their high speed units are gated behind certain ranks and have regulations around when they can be used. People tend to prefer realism when it benefits them. Also I’ve seen some of the new cars look fast and fancy but they’re not that amazing which can be a tad misleading. 4
Martin James Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 (edited) Only certain ranks can take high speed vehicles out, and will only be deployed when needed. Also the amount they deploy will be restricted too. Worth mentioning too that their is many civilian vehicles that SD/PD don't have access to that will blow anything they do have access to out the water. Edited July 31, 2024 by Martin James

Ranger Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 Hey there, What @Ash said sums this up pretty well, but with a bit more "beef", The simple answer to this is that the vehicles that PD/SD utilizes for high-speed chases and what they have in general simply match the server's environment and "what they need to go against" - e.g vehicles you see en mass such as Paragons/Paragon S' (Bentley's & Bentley's where only 18 were ever produced), Issi Sports, Jugulars (Jaguars (your own comparison)), high-end sports cars that meet high speeds and have high performance, etc. Keep in mind that 90% of traffic stops that happen (for going 8 km/h over) result in someone attempting to evade officers as well, which you do not see IRL even if someone has a felony warrant. You must also keep in mind that they are simply not able to just "drive around" in these cars, they have protocols and special conditions to utilize these vehicles, whereas on the other side of the server's playstyle (crim/civ) you can just pull out a kamacho or a paragon/jugular whenever you want and use it how you please. Although this is an RP server where we, to an extent, aim to be realistic with what happens on the server, we are not trying to replicate how it is 100% of the time in real life, it is still a game at the end of the day so sometimes minor things such as LEO getting a Jaguar-inspired vehicle to be a highspeed chase unit will be a thing. If you believe LEO (keep in mind it's not just PD on the server) shouldn't have specific vehicles, you can attempt to raise the issue with GOV ICly to see if they are able to reconsider the vehicles available to them.
