Potential Additional Civilian Jobs

Recommended Posts

The following is a list of potential Civilian jobs that could be implemented. The objective add a bit more diversity to the job selection with as little development as possible. Some of these jobs piggyback off of other job scripts pretty closely and could help with increasing player interaction(role-playing).

1. Cleaning Crew:

This job would almost mimic the road crew job but instead of dealing with incidents, the cleaning crew would clean up an assortment of locations in the same manner. They would put up wet floor signs first(or other warnings), then clean up all the "mess", and lastly remove the signs. This job would focus on indoor locations such as gas stations, flecca banks, clothing stores, tattoo shops, and any other non-NCZ areas(no job should ever be doable in a NCZ).

The difference between cleaning crew and road crew would be that cleaning crew would be geared towards less people with the focus on smaller objective numbers and less wait time between jobs. For example, road crew might be 10 barriers and 10 incident markers with a 9 minute break time. Cleaning crew could be 4 signs and 4 mess markers with a 4 minute break time.

Why have two very similar jobs? Road crew is a very popular job but gets over crowded at times or becomes completely empty which makes it tough for a small group or 1 person to perform tasks in any timely or practical financial matter. Cleaning crew would help cut down on overcrowding but also help smaller groups or solo players feel like they're actually getting stuff done. The second focus is that clean crew would be at indoor locations thus putting players in areas for potential random player interaction besidesother peopledoing the job. A conversation could easily strike up while cleaning inside a store that could lead to who knows what possible outcomes.

2. Groundskeeper/Landscaper:

The job of the groundskeeper would be similar to farming but instead of planting and then harvesting, it would seeding/mowing grass. This job would use the lawn mower vehicle.  Locations for this job could be set up around town to be performed with a mapping system sort of like wood cutting. As for being paid for completing tasks, perhaps the mower could have a "bagging" system tracks the cut grass that is worth a monetary value when the lawn mower is returned or gives some item to be turned in like other jobs.

Why another collection/task job? This job would be focused on locations less rural than logging, farming, or mining but would pay less in turn. Less risk, less reward but the locations being in civilized areas thus increasing the chance of random encounters with other players.

3. Parking Booth Operator:

This job is a mixed bag for sure. The idea is it would function similar to the toll booth operators but be at parking locations. Obviously this should not be in any NCZ zones as no job should be 100% safe.

Why even bother? Honestly this job is simply a toss up. It could be easily implemented,  probably the easiest on the list, but I'm not sure on the viability of it since the toll booths are generally unmanned but that could be due to location. It would be a pretty neat experiment.

4. Shrimping:

We got fishing but let's go a bit further with a twist, a net but it can only be used from a boat. It would work identical to fishing and provide boat owners something to do. Additionally perhaps some sort of boat rental service (like citybee) could be established or even boating company. The payout for a unit shrimp could be higher due to higher costs to collect since it would be from a boat.

Why? Because boats would become more popular and Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

I'm sure there's numerous other jobs that could be listed but these were the simplest ones I could think of.

Thanks for reading and for any feedback.
