Adjusting The Ban Policy

Recommended Posts

Hello, Everyone.

There are many people who have been banned from online communities for evading the rules. These people may feel like they have no chance of ever being a part of that community again. However, some communities are willing to give ban evaders a second chance if they are willing to follow the rules this time around. This can be a great opportunity for those who want to be a part of the community but may have made some mistakes in the past.

The current ban policy for those who evade bans is too harsh and needs to be readjusted. The majority of those who evade bans are not hackers, but rather role players who simply want to continue their game without interruption. However, the current policy labels all evaders as hackers, which is not only unfair but also counterproductive.

Hackers are a real problem for online gaming communities and need to be dealt with swiftly and harshly. But banning innocent players who were just trying to have some fun hurts the community as a whole. It would be better if the ban policy was more nuanced, so that those who were truly "DSO" disrupting server operations were banned while those who were simply roleplaying could continue playing without fear of being banned unjustly.

By readjusting the ban policy in this way, we can create a more welcoming and inclusive community that still takes firm action against genuine threats like hacking."

Best Regards,
Salah Rale

I agree with you that ban evaders should get a second chance. The reason they evade is because they like the server and don't want to ruin it. If they are given a second chance, they may be more careful about following the rules in the future. Additionally, it's possible that they were banned for something minor and didn't deserve to be banned in the first place. Giving them a second chance could allow them to redeem themselves and prove that they are good members of the community.

Admins should be more concerned about this issue because there are a lot of players who can contribute positively to the server if given another chance. A player's bad past should not determine their future in the server, and everyone deserves a second chance. If admins show leniency towards ban evaders, it will send out the message that they are willing to give people another chance as long as they have learned from their mistakes. This will only serve to improve the quality of Role-Play on the server overall.

Continuing to play on the server by purposefully bypassing an intended ban shows nothing but complete disregard to our rules and the appeal system.

You're not innocent; you broke the rules multiple times to a point where you received a ban. Players don't get banned for no reason, and if you're willing to truly change your behavior and your mindset on how you approach roleplay and the rules, then you are more than welcome to appeal your ban.

All players are given a second chance through the appeal system, but if you're not willing to take it, and forcing yourself back onto the server, then you simply brought this on yourself.

At this point in time, there will be no changes to this policy.
