Osvaldon
ECLIPSE Roleplay - Server Rules Account Ownership & Disclaimer An account name is permanent and cannot be changed. All name change requests will be denied. The original creator of an account is considered as the only legitimate owner, therefore account ownership cannot be transfered. The owner of an account may provide another person with full access to his or hers account, however the owner is held responsible for any actions taken in-game using that account. It's prohibited to sell or buy accounts, such accounts will be immediately blocked. In addition to the point above, we will not be held responsible or provide any assistance in a situation where a party of such a transaction is scammed by another party. *** An Eclipse account is used for user authentication by the server, game panel and forums. In-Game Characters & Property Character names can only contain symbols from the Latin alphabet and should follow the upper-lower case grammatical rules. Character names must be realistic, which means that they should be commonly used in the real world (national names are allowed as long as they are represented in the Latin alphabet). Buying or selling in-game currency or property in exchange for real life currency is not allowed. Failing to abide by this rule will have the seller banned and the purchased goods confiscated from the buyer. English & Other Languages English is the main language of the server and should be used at all times. All communication between players and administrators must be done in English. A foreign language may only be used in personal messages or faction chat if the faction policy allows it. Refusing to interact with other players in English will have you punished, repeated offenses may get you banned. (NLR) New Life Rule The new life rule is applied once you die and respawn at the hospital, the reason of death is irrelevant. Being injured is not considered as dying and being revived by a medic does not trigger the new life rule. Once you die, there are a few rules to be followed... You lose any in-character reason to take hostile action against your assailants. You cannot come back to the area of your death for the next 15 minutes after you respawn. An exception may be applied if the party responsible for your death has cleared the area before the NLR timer has expired After the NLR rule is triggered, you cannot provoke or take any hostile actions against the party responsible for your death for 30 minutes! Criminal charges remain after your character dies, but new charges cannot be applied for something you have done before your death. (DM) Deathmatch Deathmatch (DM) is the act of killing or hurting another player (punching counts) intentionally without having a valid in-character (roleplay) reason to do so and is considered as a serious offense which may have you banned from the server. Killing a person for something minor without giving them a fair warning can be considered as an invalid in-character reason. *** You cannot attack another player: Because they have very low health Without having any valid in-character reason Without giving the player enough time to respond Because they have caused a car accident unintentionally (minor reason) Because you are "roleplaying" a murderer, a terrorist or a madman *** You can attack another player: If they try to hurt you or intentionally damage your property If they are being robbed, but decide to resist or call the police If they try to harm you in any way (a police officer tries to arrest you) If they do not comply with your demands after receiving a few warnings (VDM) Vehicle-Deathmatch Vehicle-Deathmatch (VDM) is the act of killing or hurting another player intentionally without having a valid in-character (roleplay) reason to do so using a vehicle. The rule is identical to the regular deathmatch rule, but using a vehicle to break this rule will result in harsher punishments. (KoS) Kill on Sight Killing a person without any prior roleplay interaction is considered as a kill on sight. However, you are allowed to kill a person on sight if you had a valid in-character reason to do so, but your initial assault has failed. This exception is only valid for 30 minutes since your last encounter and only if NLR has not been triggered. If 30 minutes pass since your last encounter, you lose all in-character reasons to take hostile action against that player. (RK) Revenge Killing Revenge Killing (RK) is the act of killing someone because they have killed you before. This rule is triggered if you kill your murderer while the NLR timer has not yet expired or without having a valid in-character reason. Failing to abide by this rule is an equivalent of breaking the deathmatch rule under aggravating circumstances. (Disconnecting) Avoiding Roleplay Players are not allowed to avoid roleplay and in-game consequences by disconnecting from the game, doing so will have your character jailed by an administrator or banned for repeatedly doing so. If you happen to crash during a combat situation or a police arrest, try contacting these players via PM and ask them if they want to continue roleplaying the situation. Robberies Robberies can be performed purely with the help of roleplay or by using the /mug command on players who have their hands raised (/handsup or /up). Criminals are not allowed to force other players to sell their property. *** You cannot demand another player to: Sell their property, such as, houses, business or vehicles Take their money out of the bank or an ATM *** You can demand another player to: Raise their hands so the /mug command can be applied Give the keys of their vehicle or start up the engine so you can steal the car Unpack their cargo (roleplay doing it) from their truck/van to your own vehicle (MG) Metagaming Metagaming (MG) is the act of mixing out of character (OOC) and in-character (IC) information. Out of character information is information that is not known to your character. For example, your character cannot see player nametags, therefore in IC chat you must pretend that you do not know the names of other players. In-character information is information known to your character, for example, your character sees other characters, but not their nametags. [ In-character ] Talking in voice-chat or regular chat, or using the /shout (or /s), /radio (or /r) commands is considered as in-character chat, same applies for all global announcements. You're not allowed to use abbreviations or smiley faces in this type of chat, you must use grammatically correct spelling, although we do not enforce capitalization or punctuation. [ Out of character ] To speak out of character, you must use the /ooc (/o, /b) command. Out of character chat is always enclosed with brackets as in the following example (( text )). This type of chat doesn't require grammatically correct spelling. *** It is important to note, that OOC context cannot be used as a valid in-character reason to take hostile actions against another player. (PG) Powergaming Roleplaying something unrealistically ridiculous using standard roleplay commands, such as /me is not allowed. *** Prohibited powergaming actions: Roleplaying a person who has super powers, such as, laser vision, super strength... Basic Roleplay All players are required to stay in-character and to abide by basic roleplay rules listed in this topic, such as, metagaming. Everyone has to use the appropriate chat channels for in-character and out of character conversations. If you see a police officer or another person, try interacting with them as you would in real life, that is the best way to remain in-character. Racism & Offensive Language Racism and offensive language is not allowed in an OOC context, but may be used in an IC context giving other players an in-character reason to take hostile action against you. Administrators may still warn and mute someone in extreme situations. Offensive language is not allowed in global announcements both in IC and OOC context. Sexual Roleplay Sexual roleplay is ONLY allowed when all parties involved agree to it in an OOC manner. For example, through /PM or /B. This means you may not touch another player sexually or perform sexual actions without players around you agreeing in an OOC manner. *** Without the consent of other players, you are not allowed to: Perform rape or other sexual interaction such as touching inappropriate areas of a person's body. Remove clothing forcefully, taking off your own clothes (/me unzips their pants) without permission from everybody that can witness the roleplay. Macroing Macroing is the act of using third-party software to perform automated tasks. Players caught abusing macros to circumvent AFK detection or to gain money will be banned! Game Modifications & Cheating It is strictly prohibited to use any game modifications or software that provide you with an unfair advantage over players who use the default GTA V files or software. Having the ability to activate cheats on demand is also prohibited even if you are not using them! In all situations, cheating will result in a permanent ban without any prior warning. Examples of Cheating Quote Flying, invincibility, invisibility, super speed, teleportation, etc... Spawning of weapons, objects or vehicles... The ability to see through walls or see other players on the map... Increased character running speed, jump height, unlimited stamina, etc... Exploiting Bugs If you find a server bug report it to the on the forums. If you try to exploit it for a financial benefit, you will get banned and the money or items gained will be revoked. Command, Chat & Voice Spamming You are not allowed to make obnoxious sounds using your microphone or to spam commands or messages, otherwise you may be globally muted or removed from the server for a period of time. *** It is prohibited to: Scream in your microphone, make odd noises purposely to irritate others. Repeatedly send emergency services, taxi, mechanic requests in short intervals Send $1 a thousand times so that another player receives many notification messages. Advertising Advertising another rival GTA V community will have you permanently banned. Players are only allowed to create in-game advertisements about their factions, property, trade, events. *** You cannot send in-game advertisements about: Other GTA V communities Sites not related to the Eclipse community *** You can send in-game advertisements about: In-game property, such as, vehicles, houses, business In-game factions, recruitment and other events In-game services, such as taxi, mechanic services Turf Rules You are not allowed to KOS, you must always have an RP reason to kill another player. This means you cannot kill players just for being on your turf. However, if an enemy gang is capping your point, you have every right to defend it. You must always have an RP reason to go to war with another gang, meaning you cannot go to war with a gang just because you want to capture a couple of points with your 3 man gang. All rules still apply with points/turfs, including NLR. If you are killed while capping a point, you cannot return to that point until your NLR timer has expired. If you are trying to attack a point while it is has a defence set up, you must first engage in roleplay, otherwise it will be seen as KOS/DM. The defender has every right however to fire upon you for capping the point.
