  1. (Authors Note: Here are a few things about Reed to know about. I will also add separate piece of a mystery I have been working on that is set in San Francisco.) Name: Payton James Reed D.O.B.: February 16th, 1976 Nationality: American Parents: Eli Martin Reed (Biological Father; Deceased), Leanne Stephanie Reed (Nee' Davis; Biological Mother; Deceased), Emir Conrad Werner (Foster Father), Marge Elizabeth Werner (Nee' Smith; Foster Mother) Occupation: Detective (Note: this isn't official as of yet on Eclipse, but I'm hoping to try and get going with it as soon as I get my xp up) Affiliations: Steel City Police Department (Steel City; 1997-Present) Race: Caucasian Hair Color: Red Eye Color: Blue Marital Status: Single Languages: English Bio: Coming Soon Reed's Car: An extension to Reed's personality is his car. In the stories it's a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere that was handed to him by Emir, his foster father when Reed was 16. Emir first bought the car brand new off the show room in 1956. As an officer of the law, Emir used the car as a daily driver until he was promoted to detective and started using the car more on the regular while on the job. Emir dubbed the Belvedere Betty; possibly after Actress Bette Davis or the cartoon character Betty Boop. Normally when it came to cars, most people would trade in or get rid of their older cars. Emir on the other hand held on to Betty. Although she never saw as much action through Emir compared to Reed, Emir found her to be the most reliable and dependable car he ever invested in. However, times change and the cars grew increasingly faster leaving Betty to be obsolete in comparison, Finally, in 1971 after 15 loyal years, Emir finally put Betty to rest in his garage with plans to eventually restore her one day. Those plans would not come to fruition until years later. So what makes Betty so unique? As mentioned, Betty is an extension to Payton's personality. In the stories being written, Betty holds a very important role. She is also very unique compared to other vehicles. In the stories, the 1957 Belvedere went through a major upgrade. Physically, she looks the same; Candy Apple Red with a Arctic White hard top, stock 15-16 inch baby moon seal rims with white wall tires. The engine was replaced from the stock 318 to a Hemi 392 for more horsepower and better optimal performance. The Transmission; which was originally a PowerFlite Push Button Automatic, was swapped out for a General Motors TH-400 transmission providing 450 foot pounds of input torque. The rear end was also replaced with a Ford 9 inch rear end for better pull and easier maintenance while increasing speed and acceleration. Adding everything together, Betty's top speed would be somewhere between 200-230 km/h. Aside from the major updates, minor things have been included to the car. A CB radio which can pick up any police banter, seat belts, and a single LED deck light mounted on the ceiling of the car since the rear view mirror is mounted on the dash. The one thing I am aware of is the odds of getting something like this from the start. It would take some time before I get things going. The closest car to match the description of Betty would be a Declasse Tornado. There would be a few things to get it remotely close to the specs for the car. This is going to take some time to get going however. Aside from that, if I can figure out how to do it, I may include custom tags for the car as well. These would be either Labeled: Steel City tags or Keystone tags. I haven't decided yet on that. I'll cross that path when I get there. About Emir Werner: Emir Conrad Werner (b. 1933) is the current Police Commissioner for Steel City. He has earned a reputation for being a bit rough on the edges and a no nonsense attitude. He forbids any use of foul language while present and sometimes catch the profanity before it starts. This is triggered by the statement: "Language." as a subtle reminder to keep the vocabulary clean. For a phusical description, he physically shares similar features to Michael Chiklis and James Tolkan respectively. His voice is identical to the tamber of James Tolkan. He is of course, bald and usually wears reading spectacles while behind his desk. Werner is a veteran cop with having approximately 68 plus years experience in law enforcement. Additional information will follow later.
  2. Hello folks, I hope everyone is ready for the upcoming holidays. I thought I would drop a line here and introduce myself. I have a couple of handles I go by. Clay, or Starkerruiser (my discord account). I have followed the GTA franchise since 1997. Been an active roleplayer for 17 years so far and counting. I started in Yahoo! Messenger and hopped from one place to another after Yahoo! Messenger dissipated. I do enjoy music, and I am a musician myself. I'm hoping to establish a few characters in this group to develop them. There are some things I have to learn as I go which is always fun. Feel free to drop me a line if you see me. Payton Reed is the avatar I will be using once I get things going. Hope everyone enjoys the holidays and look forward to meet others as I go.
