  1. I love this idea however there are soooo many issues that come with it.

    • As stated above, aliases. Going from a tough beefy mexican gang member to a small chinese lady is gonna make no sense if aliases stick around. While you'd still RPly be the same person (same criminal history, etc) no one would recognise you. While I don't think CKs should be a thing to become a new person, maybe something like character resets where you pay to lose aliases but retain the same licenses, criminal history and such.
    • This would help so much with transition roleplay or just people that are bored of playing a male or female character and want to swap.
    • A cooldown or increased fees to avoid repeated abuse of this would be cool or straight up you only lose the alias if you change gender to avoid just changing the face slightly but retaining everything else.

Games like WoW have recently adopted gender fluidity where you can far easier play who you want to be and change a lot easier so I'm absolutely all for it if the above steps can be sorted out.

  2. This would be fun however I don't see script support for this necessary. If anything involving script would just complicate the simple method that people can do to RP illnesses (and in extension injuries).

If someone wants to RP as being ill then they're able, that's what roleplay is for. There are plenty of IC avenues already in place to get diagnosed and treated already without the need of extra development time or specific commands in place.

I'm probably not alone in thinking that the idea of a "pandemic" system where everyone could get infected and suffer an illness might not go over well with people, especially since we're still in the aftermath of a recent worldwide pandemic.

The suggestion for change at DOC has been requested for years apon years. Idk what's the point of trying anymore. Allow for fun criminal RP. Yesturday, my friend tried to smuggle in a knife inside a cake for me. But we're told your not allowed to ROLEPLAY hiding weapons as they physically show. New script doesn't have to be implemented, its honestly in the hands of the SADOC faction leaders and Admins. If they want RP, tell your guards to allow for it and to get rid of their win mentalities.

Smuggling RP is OOCly not welcomed. Break out RP is OOCly not welcomed. Prison fights are OOCly not welcomed. Illegal RP you'd see in most prisons are OOCly not welcomed. Fun is basically OOCly not welcomed. Standing still causing you to tab out however is OOCly welcomed...

We are always open for constructive criticism yet this doesn't really seem like much of a discussion. I was personally not a witness for what occurred during that cake smuggling however I did catch the IC and OOC aftermath of it. I don't think simply making guards allow any smuggled items inside promotes realism however there are times when we do allow items to be smuggled in if RPed properly. You must remember the smuggling rule in the prison rules.

    Quote
    • If successfully done, then smuggling small amounts of money, drugs, or other smaller items that would be realistic to conceal is allowed.
    • Trying to smuggle in larger items such as weapons or radios on your own body would not be realistic and considered as powergaming.
    • You must give the guard a realistic chance to find the item if it’s somewhere that would be discovered during a normal pat-down or visible when changing clothes, failing to provide a realistic chance would be considered as powergaming.

You are absolutely 100% allowed to smuggle in items in a cake (although quite an absurd idea but that is IC absurdity!). Rules do state "Trying to smuggle in larger items such as weapons or radios on your own body would not be realistic and considered as powergaming." however the weapon would RPly be in the cake, not on your person. I will personally bring this up.

    • Breakout RP is completely out of DOC hands. We don't approve or disapprove anything yet we are the people to often facilitate the RP.
    • Prison fights are fine! Obviously DM rules always apply and IC consequences will occur from fighting.
    • Illegal RP (I assume this means doing crimes inside of prison) is fine as well but IC consequences can occur.

As a faction we are always happy to facilitate any form of RP that any inmate wishes to do, within reason, however we must still realistically roleplay as guards so if we see a bad thing occur then we have to react to it accordingly.

We have an OOC feedback from here: https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?t=105084 or feel free to just reach out to me over discord, Chunder#6108

  4. I think it would be kinda great if the taser radgolled people, and stunned them, like it does in regular GTA. Right now it just freezes them in place and ragdolls them sometimes. This would just be visual and not really a buff.

As I tell people in DOC, RP grabbing when they're tased. They can't do much while they're incapacitated for the 10 seconds. The taser is fine at it is IMO strength wise.

  5. This is something that literally anyone can start up IC if they have the correct licenses and such!
In the past DOC has played run a competitive baseball game and attempted to run a dodgeball game too.
I'm more than happy to provide the RP guide for how we played if needed!

  6. The rules inside of SADOC are the same as outside meaning that public robbery is still a thing. Below is the prison rules regarding player theft:

    6. Player Theft on Guards / Inmates

    • Robbery Rules apply in the prison. There should be proper reasoning for wanting to rob another inmate or guard, and it should be done at a proper location within the prison itself (e.g. away from cameras and guards). Refer to 15. Player Theft, Prison Breakout, and Kidnapping in our General Rules.

There are several locations where there purposefully aren't any cameras to allow for robberies to occur.

As I am aware, COIII (Correctional Officer III) and above may carry a pistol in a cellblock, which is highly unrealistic. You may as well call it ruleplaying, as they know that gun can not be stolen. In real life, and realistically, guards do not carry firearms anywhere near prisoners, unless absolutely required. The only people authorised to deploy a firearm are their CERT teams, and these weapons can only be deployed under certain circumstances. However, in the ECRP DOC, every other officer carries a firearm.

I agree realistically that IRL COs won't be carrying around firearms on them, which is why we only allow CO3 who have multiple months of experience at DOC. You also need to remember the fact that prison breaks, riots, fights and murders happen a lot less likely IRL than in ECRP. Tasers IRL will put you down in one tase whereas in ECRP you get tased and after 10 seconds you can go around punching.
Prisoners IRL are incredibly compliant compared to those in ECRP as they realise they face actual consequences (years or life in prison or the chance of death if they start something) whereas in ECRP, you get released after 8 hours, if you die you respawn and you go about your day. If prisoners realised there were real consequences for their actions then they would be more cooperative and therefore we'd have less reasons to carry firearms around.

SADOC is reactive rather than proactive with their views to using firearms. We have the IC force matrix in place to prevent those pulling out their guns and shooting once they have been granted DM rights on the person. Guns are a very very last resort. Unlike other factions, every time someone in DOC pulls the trigger of a firearm, they have to write a report about it to show that the trigger being pulled was warranted. They are ICly punished if it wasn't warranted, you can track this through our suspensions on the gov website.

If we have a prison break, a riot, a murder then we have a very valid IC reason for active deployment. We won't just brush it off and go oh well maybe we'll tase them more next time, we want to ensure that this doesn't happen again so increasing our alert status is the way we can react to this.

We are constantly improving our IC protocols regarding firearm deployment. In the last 24 hours we have updated two pieces of IC paperwork and implementing something else that will hopefully completely prevent the need for active deployment in the cellblock.

I also do not feel like this is the place to discuss a report that has been posted and would prefer if people refrained about discussing rulebreaks here.

As usual, feel free to reach out to me on discord with any feedback you have: Chunder#6108
I am more than happy to discuss with people and hopefully develop SADOC into a better faction if provided with constructive feedback.

  8. It's about time I give my 2 cents to this discussion.

I don't believe that implementing this would kill the faction however it would greatly reduce the amount of RP that DOC and inmates can do. There are often hours when there are no inmates already late at evening or early in the day so we'd see a lot less people. There are obviously a lot of mentions here that there is no RP in DOC however DOC is what you make of it. We have literally no script interactions that we can do to create RP so it's a case of making up whatever we can to do. We have to do this 24/7 so obviously some of the time we need to step away and do other chill things however we are always open for more active RP if inmates wish to also provide it. It isn't 100% on DOC to make DOC an enjoyable place, we're just the catalysts for the inmates to RP.

There are many many things we have tried in the past that have all failed, such as the prison schedule. Having a set timetable where you move inmates from the yard to the showers to the cells every 15 minutes isn't feasible if we need to have staff processing, training to get their promotions or dealing with the 60th fight of the day. We're happy to try other things to do if anyone ever has any ideas!

With that, DOC can actively reduce time and increase time based on any IC behaviour. You can turn up at DOC with 2 hours of time and 5k fines. Even if you mine, you can make all of that money back during you sentence. If you want to fight other inmates, you're gonna get more time and lose money. If you want to provide positive RP, do chores then we can reward you with reduced time via stamps. There are plenty of script and RP opportunities to RP in DOC how you want, within reason.

Moving on from that, there have also been some mentions that the rules are too strict in DOC however the rules are the same everywhere. DM is treated the same, robbery is treated the same. The only rules that apply differently is NLR due to the small size of the prison and the fact that there's no script way to treat inmates. I actively push faction members to report rulebreaks, however small, as I want to improve the prison and the server environment as a whole. People don't know what they're doing wrong unless they're told about it.

We're all in agreement that DOC requires script support, however minimal. I have been a part of the DOC now for almost 3 years and in this time, the only change that has been implemented was the new prison. Knowing this, I have actively pushed IC for new things that doesn't require script support.

We love to hear feedback about DOC, with suggestions and things we could change or implement. Here's our section for RP feedback: https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?p=446516#p446516

There are some amazing suggestions in this thread, some of which I haven't seen before. It has been mentioned a few times already but here's my suggestion thread:

  9. Hello. First of all we greatly appreciate any feedback for SADOC. We have a SADOC feedback form here: https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?t=105084 so please let us know about negative or positive RP experiences.

From your post above we can tell that you had some issues, feel free to post feedback above or reach out to me on discord, Chunder#6108 and hopefully we can solve any poor roleplay!

I can personally vouch for the pictures above as literally all units on duty were dealing with one of our most troublesome inmates, pictured below, for a large amount of time and after that had been concluded we returned to the cellblock. Here's a picture from that RP:

    DXUQN27.jpg

The prison is a large place! If we're not RPing with inmates then we're likely somewhere else training, teaching or engaging in other types of roleplay most of which you can see displayed in our faction thread:

Also if you have any development suggestions then post them here:
