Jesse Henderson was born in a rough neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. His upbringing was difficult, and at his age, he found himself hanging out with the wrong people. He decided to make a change when he was 18 years old. He gathered all of the money he could find stashed away in odd places and traveled to Los Santos, where he could reinvent himself. Unfortunately, he was heavily influenced to go down the wrong path from a young age, and these habits followed him wherever he went.
Within a few days, he had begun robbing stores with three other people he met during his first few days in the city. They weren't particularly close, but they worked well together. During one of their robberies, a police car pulled up to the store. All three bolted from the store, sprinting for their bikes.The PD unit could be heard asking for backup as they began to chase. The pursuit had begun. Jesse was the first person out of the store, so he had a significant advantage over the cruiser and was not targeted. 5 minutes later, he heard his friend, who was being pursued by cops, say that his car had stalled. Jesse knew this was the end of his run with his group and that he needed to take a break.
A few months later, Jesse was walking around the city at night when he came across a convenience store. When he looked inside, he was astounded to see two masked men holding the man at gunpoint and robbing the store. Memories rushed back to him, and he recalled the good old days of running stores with his friends. Jesse put on his mask and casually walked into the store, asking the two if he could join them. There was a strange vibe at the time, as these two weren't sure what to make of some random person joining them. Jesse joined in on the action after they cautiously agreed. They formally introduced themselves after running a few more stores and gaining more trust with each other. Jesse discovered their names were Easton and Luca. They became close quickly as a result of their unusual meeting, and they started running more stores together.
Eventually, Easton joined the “Los Santos Royals,” an up and coming gang. He'd tell Jesse about how professional and dedicated the group was, and how he should consider joining. Jesse was initially hesitant due to his previous negative experiences with gangs in his hometown of Chicago. But after a while, he realized that he needed a family on whom he could rely and who would always have his back. This inspired him to try and join the Royals, and Easton assisted Jesse in setting up a meeting with their leaders in order for him to be recruited.
Fortunately, the Royals' three leaders agreed to give him a chance, and he is now attempting to prove himself to them.
