Criminal RP is dead since 2019 and sadly won’t be revived. Server simply went towards the heavier RP direction with op cops and anti-crime encouragement. No fun to play at all, unless you have no real life and you are here just to interact with people virtually..

It became like it, because the server was a fuckfest 2018 and 2019, in my honest opinion.

Don't roleplay on a server with people.

That is my hard and honest opinion.

There are countless games out there, which can simulate everything the server has to offer, be it jobs or criminal activities.
    Without people, but just bots.

I don’t believe that the criminal side of the server is dead. I think it’s dying a slow death and has for the past two years but it’s not beyond the point of resuscitation yet. I certainly haven’t put in the effort I have on a lost cause.

That said, so far every effort to revive it has seemed like a half measure. Staff don’t fully commit to going the necessary distance needed. Whether it’s just not what certain people want or what, I don’t know.

Yes, the script stuff would really help but it also comes down to the rules of the server, how factions are managed and the amount of available role players to play criminal on the server.

Until such time as things really change, people will just blame the police departments and make threads like these because there’s no other outlet for it.

If you just play a criminal character, become somewhat addicted to the server, don't you think, it changes you?

The entire problem with criminal RP is, that it's toxic from the beginning till the end, even though it might not seem like it at times, but then suddenly just a random mf'er jumps on you, because you look like a criminal. People don't really realise, what roleplay can do to you and especially those, who don't even roleplay for real, but just act freely or roleplay as something absurd, as they'd like it. The same can go with law enforcement, but it's not entirely toxic there, in my humble opinion, but you are meant to hunt criminals, don't yah? And it forms your mind that way and you can become entirely power hungry in a sense as well. You forget or play away, that you are human, no more empathy and such.

And when you realise, that it's actually not good for your well being, long term wise, playing as a criminal or law enforcement all the time, isn't it a good time, to either lay down the criminal or law enforcement side or just leave the server? You can always come back, but please, don't become depressed over it. Please.

The best roleplayers, stick to the server, because they were able to transition themselves and adapt or could always play in a way, that caused no permanent harm for themselves / others.

When they are continuing to add scripts, like for the existing freelance jobs, which also improves the social aspect greatly, as does the road workers job, then this server will improve so, SO, much more.

I can't really speak, for the criminal side and law enforcement too much, although I can speak for what I have experienced / seen, in my 5 year old roleplay experience on the server, as a taxi driver, paramedic and freelancer, so keep that in mind with me.

And see this as a rather broad response and not exactly to your post, Bala / others.

With all due respect, and I mean that sincerely because you have always been fair and even minded when it comes to matters of eclipse.

Look at Rooks, look at LNF, look at FSO (prior to having to defend themselves from a not needed conflict). I think those groups specifically the first two do a pretty good job of roleplaying in a more balanced way. And what they get is disrespect from other crims telling them that their RP is not valid "Crim RP". For example FSO had such a huge emphasis on laundering from a legal front and events - and we were constantly told by other crims that we were a joke or "legals with imports". I have constantly heard that LNF is joke from other crims because of their low numbers, low visibility, and less aggressive playstyle. It is clear that there is a huge undercurrent of current criminals that do not feel a more balanced playstyle is valid.

To be frank I think the biggest enemy to crim rp right now is the toxicity of the players within it. The fact that ooc toxicity has pervaded into high ranking members of factions and not punished, factions allowing their members to press forward with toxic behaviors without checking it has led to this toxic environment that no one wants to play in.

Am I less than happy with some of the changes? Absolutely. But I can adjust. What truly makes me not want to play is the players referencing my OOC life, shouting at me to save pov every single interaction I have with them, and the fact that I had people get upset about a video game and dox me. Some people are simply unable to split their IC and OOC lives and its gotten toxic to a point that no one enjoys. That is truly the greatest enemy of vibrant crim rp right now to me, not PD.

I am just a poor civilian (by now) and I agree very much over this. Criminals need guidance, a lot of guidance, which they sadly don't get typically.

I have seen plenty of IC criminals, who turned into real life criminals in a way, without realising it, being indulged into toxicity and never getting out. Or just people in general who felt for the addiction and lost themselves...

I have seen criminal roleplay done well and it felt okay. I felt little to none OOC toxicity then and that's how it should be.

Issue/bug you are reporting: After driving the Marquis Boat as a driver for a while and then letting the passenger drive it, the Marquis goes underwater.

Expected behavior:  It should float on the water at all time (usually).

  5. I hope your brother will become better over time. 🙂

Roleplay is a two sided sword. It can be really healthy, but also not so healthy, as your brother probably experienced.

Your brother is not alone though. Many people experienced the same faiths with similar lasting issues, here on Eclipse.

What I have seen so far, people who got similar issues and had to sadly leave, became a lot healthier after, because roleplay can be quite a drug, where you want more and more.

That can be with any game or community really.

Addiction can become a serious issue and it is hard to let go, but sometimes it's a lot better, to find different ways, to find own happiness again.

Look at me: I achieved everything I wanted from Eclipse and I am barely playing anymore, but that is okay, because I found myself again.

I wish your brother and yourself, just the best. ❤️

I think fishing needs another rework

What I would suggest to have 2 different rods basic and expert and to have different spawn rates for the rods.

    Add more fish for example Carp = $200, Catfish = $300, Turbot = $390 and swordfish = $550

Basic fishing rod would be able to catch

    Carp (50%), Catfish(30%), Turbot(15%) and swordfish(5%)

Expert fishing rod would be able to catch

    Carp (25%), Catfish(55% ), Turbot(10%) and swordfish(10%)

I think this will make it more fun and not as boring with the RNG

It kinda used to be like that. I dunno why it got taken away and just became simplified fishing...

There still needs to be risk when giving other people money, I think that /wiretransfer is just way too easy and will put a damper on a lot of roleplay. This could also make it easier to transfer money between characters which is not a good thing.

I would agree with being able to write other players checks (not your alternative characters) but not a simple /wiretransfer.

People will roleplay, how they feel like and more diverse opportunities will help with it.

Although, it shouldn't be done via command, but with the actual phone user interface. Way more immersive.
