As it is realistic, it is also a game, and games require balancing.

Exactly, I think the spot light itself is a great addition. Rest of the features are to OP.

In reality the piloting of a police chopper is a 2 man job and should only be allowed to be used by the passenger as it would be irl rather than an auto lock feature.

  2. At the moment you are under fear rp if a weapon is pointed at you while on a bike as you are classed as being "vulnerable".

If that's the case, logically a bike passenger should be able to issue demands to a person on foot by pointing a gun at them. Really what's the difference in that scenario besides the passengers feet are not planted on the ground?

Every gameplay punishment I've ever had that has been issued by a moderator, has been successfully appealed.

This is a problem, either the moderator s  interpretation of the rules is wrong or just a lack of education and making up rules as they go along. Think of all the wasted resources in issuing the punishment s then appealing ,time, effort.

For example I've had RP voided due to using "anim slap" to start an altercation instead of throwing a punch. The rp ended in a knife fight in an underground car park where the person was downed. Everyone was happy enough with the outcome, including the downed party, but the moderator( who wasn't involved and no report made) steps in and doesn't know if DM happened due to using "anim slap" and needed to consult with a senior moderator to see if punishment should be issued. When I asked why void it if unsure about if a rule break happend to which the response was " because I said its voided" All 6 people involved went offline within 1 minute due to frustration and not wanting to play anymore.

I don't want to speak for the staff team, but the logic seems to be that they want to avoid the "hands" and shoot mentality. If you had more of a reason to hold him up prior, shooting him could be justified, but if all he did was disregard your demands, it wouldn't be alright to shoot, possibly.

The problem with rules being ambiguous is they are interpreted ad-hoc by certain admins. It's not a fair system unfortunately.

I assume if you give demands with a gun, that would be fear RP then. However, if he breaks this fear rp and fails to comply to your ‘demands’ you have to let him step in and drive away as shooting will be considered DM then. As far as I understand the rule, correct me if wrong.

Thats the way im understanding it, the way its worded the person can get back in their car and drive off? Surely it cant be though as that makes no sense.

  6. The amount of people that have used terms such " nervous"and "anxious" while playing what should be a fun experience shows it's not a fun environment.

As for the rules there is no consistency to how punishment s are handed out. Not to mention massive gender discrepancy from some staff when dealing with situations and reports.

I think it all started to go wrong with official gang nonsense, and the expectations that because they have 8 people and you are 2 you can't say bad things to them as it's now fear rp. Numerous times in my 4 years I have been in situations where the group with larger numbers lose. But that's dead now essentially as a small group has no chance to be "official" and therefore can't engage in hostile rp. Anyone should be able to form a gang organically or for mutual benefit. It's like going going to a party and the host saying " fun will begin at 7 and must stop at 7:45 " those are shit party's!

  7. A lot of good points raised.

I straight up think the server has a lost a lot of its fun factor from the nearly 4 years ive been playing. The rules are way to restrictive and the jail times are absurd from a criminals points of view. Not to mention there is nothing to do in jail and it never gets addressed regardless of X amount of +1 . The interpretation of the rules  themselves ie " public robbery" is choking enough that you cant even get into a punch up.

While I commend you for writing down a well thought out idea @Bala I fear as always nothing will materialise from it as people have been screaming for change for sometime and nothing is done sadly.

  8. How has this not been addressed, it's literally just AFK simulator in prison, guards and inmates combined. Literally all you can do is mine ore for Shag all stamps.

100% needs to be a cap on jail time of 2 hours until it's fixed.

  9. Id like to Echo @DirtyMike frustration in regard to random building decisions.  The notification time line seems random at best. I have personally had stuff ripped down in 24hrs where I see people have warnings for literally months and they dont get it removed? There is from what I can see no structure at all in regards to notification and timelines. People spend easily 50k+ only to have it removed and picked by the vultures when an admin randomly removes it all.

Surely the person should be held accountable for why its x or y and why its being removed?

  10. Big +1

A few issues I have with it are

    1.  Its too hard to tell who is actually talking, especially with the voice bug that no longer even shows the green above your head.

    2. Its going to lead to a lot more accidental DMs as so many people are running around wearing masks in a gun fight which is also totally unrealistic but at least with the correct ID you know you are shooting at the correct person as a certain element of the community thrive on trying to get people banned.

    3. It doesn't even work in its current state, its on for some people yet not for others.

    4. Its melting my head. Biggest issue of all.

    Thanks

Only if it takes a good amount of time for the elevator to start moving, and reach the bottom floor. Apartment complexes are used as instant teleporters to escape pursuers. Very close to powergaming, and the HUD was put in place to alleviate that issue. Last thing we want is more instant unrealistic actions.

I think a timer is a good option, also I think an RP element of lift sharing is not catered for as you are not always going to be alone in a lift for example.

if you don't want your pistol to be seen, you can use a pistol, a combat pistol or an SNS pistol, as they are small/concealable IRL. NBDY has purposefully scripted it so that the smaller pistols don't appear on your back (because they can realistically be concealed).

Exactly, the options already exist, put them in a bag or your car even. If people want to open carry massive pistols while masked in public expect to bring attention to yourself.

As for that video of the guy concealing the weapon.........sure you can conceal anything wearing a moo moo.

The idea here is if you are a consistent, long term member of the community, you should be setting the example and not DMing.
I don't think we should get breaks, instead we should be held to a higher standard the longer we play.

You're talking about people going out and intentionally breaking rules. This is simply not always the case. I've seen people with lots of experience and years of playtime getting banned for very minor infractions.

I've also witnessed admins get  perma banned for breaking rules. It's not just DMs we are talking about here.

Also this is just my personal view but I feel some reports are not handled equally. It can really come down to does X admin dislike Y or even what gender is being reported. Id like to think people can be impartial but it's just human nature sometimes especially when it comes to gang affiliated admins.

I suppose the key point from above is if it was treated as a legal system then mistakes happen hence the difference between , death by negligence , manslaughter and murder. Even some states wipe your record clean if you stay out of trouble long enough. This would be weighed up before sentencing. And it's so easy to shoot the wrong person wearing the same colour gang in a shootout. It's not malicious behaviour most of the time and even if it is and the person has proved through X amount of playtime and no rule breaks not to be perma banned for a mistake in a game mode essentially based around the medium of human nature?
