DoTo Posted December 11, 2021 Report Posted December 11, 2021 Hello! I would love to see a splitting of the speedcamera and scanning plates system. It is more realistic and in my opinion also improves balancing. I don't see a need for us LEOs to be able to scan a plate from a car going 240 past us when we're doing a speedtrap. Ideally, I could see there being an option to set up a moveable area where the radar is actively pointing within some realistic constraints. This would only show the speed of the vehicle travelling through the area. If there is multiple vehicles, showing the closest might be the best option. As for actually scanning plates, (partial) implementation of the ANPR system would be very nice. Perhaps it could be made so that scanning a plate takes a small amount of time (3 to 5 seconds) to prevent unrealistic grabbing of licenseplates as vehicles pass or a vehicle slipping into the range of the mini MDC during a high speed pursuit. This could then also perhaps automatically show a warrant on the R/O of the vehicle. Not necessary, as checking this takes about 3 seconds on the MDC as it is, but it would be a nice QoL feature in relation to this. 1 Quote
