I have written this guide to assist anyone who may be experiencing problems after updating their Grand Theft Auto V VIA the client or Steam.

The update has taken affect and you may be receiving the following message.

NOTE:  Skip to 1.7 if you have NOT updated Grand Theft Auto V VIA the client or Steam.

Carefully read through the following steps if you HAVE updated your Grand Theft Auto V VIA the client or Steam.

1.0)  Close the GT:MP launcher and any other programs you may have running in the background.

1.1)  Click the link below that is in reference to the version you have.

Steam Version

Rockstar Social Club Version

1.3) Head into your Grand Theft Auto V folder once the file has been downloaded.

Steam Version:  D:\Steam\steamapps\common/Grand Theft Auto V

Rockstar Social Club Version: C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games

1.4)  The folder should look like so.

Open the icon as seen above and disconnect yourself from internet.

- If you are connected to the home network VIA Ethernet.

1) Right click the Ethernet icon and click 'Open Network and Sharing Center'

2) Click 'Change adapter settings' located in the top left hand side.

3) Right click your Ethernet network and select 'Disable'

1.8) Run your GT:MP client and launch it to start Grand Theft Auto V

1.9) You will be prompted  with the following options:

2.0)  Click 'OFFLINE MODE' and wait for Grand Theft Auto V to start.  NOTE: You may see 'Loading Story Mode' in the menu.  This is completely fine, GT-MP will open the server selection menu as usual.

2.1) Hold 'ALT' and 'TAB' to minimize your game whilst Grand Theft Auto V loads.

2.2) Reverse the network steps as above but this time enabling your network connection.

Sadly it's not working for me, I guess I just have to wait for the GTMP update to come out.

Did you try to restart your computer? Sometimes it won't work until you restart, that's IF you followed all the steps correctly.
