How playback works

Car mode

Double-click a song to Play. Eclipse Phone Player activates GTA V, opens the chat, and sends:

/Carurl YOUTUBE_LINK

Speaker mode

Click [E] Open the speaker’s Change URL interface in game,

then select or double-click a song.

The application also copies the YouTube URL to clipboard so it can be pasted into the speaker interface.

TV mode

Open the TV’s URL interface in game through the "remote" App,

click on the URL section, then select or double-click a song.

The YouTube URL is copied in the prompt and to your clipboard for the TV interface.

You still need to click play in the remote app in-game

Safety and transparency

Eclipse Phone Player was developed by me with assistance from AI tools for portions of the coding, debugging, and interface design.

I reviewed, tested, and made all decisions for the application.

Eclipse Phone Player’s source code and Windows build workflow are publicly available on GitHub.

The application legitimately performs actions that antivirus programs may examine more closely, including:

  • Sending keyboard input to GTA V.
  • Accessing the clipboard.
  • Registering global keyboard shortcuts.
  • Connecting to YouTube.
  • Saving library and settings files.
  • Opening YouTube link in the users default browser.

Disclaimer

Because this is a community-built application it is unsigned and has limited download reputation, Windows SmartScreen or an antivirus engine may occasionally display a warning. Users can review the source code before running it.

Music and game-assistance applications may receive heuristic false positive antivirus detections because they use global shortcuts, clipboard access, network requests, and simulated keyboard input. The original Eclipse Music Menu also receives a behavior-based detection. Eclipse Phone Player’s source code and reproducible build workflow are publicly available for inspection.

if you are unsure of  the .exe you can opt to download the .AHK version

Troubleshooting

The application does not send the song to GTA V

  • Make sure GTA V is running.
  • Confirm that the configured game executable is GTA5.exe.
  • Check the Open Chat key in Settings.
  • Try running Eclipse Phone Player with the same permission level as GTA V.

Speaker or TV playback does not work

Open the appropriate URL interface in game before selecting the song. Speaker and TV modes copy the link for use in those interfaces.

F3 does not open the application

Another application may already be using the shortcut. Open Eclipse Phone Player from the system tray or change the shortcut configuration.

YouTube search does not return results

Check your internet connection and try a simpler search phrase. You can also open YouTube in your browser and manually add a video URL.

Windows displays a security warning

Confirm that the application came from the official GitHub release.
