Dexter Nevermore Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Dear Community, I've been doing drops and runs to Cayo over the last couple of days, and it got me thinking. Outside of the Super Lab and the event that happens once or twice a year, Cayo is basically a dead location on the server. It's a large and unique area, but it sees very little use for the vast majority of players. What if the developers could turn Cayo into a large hunting reserve? This would give both criminals and legal players a reason to visit the island by allowing them to hunt and poach animals for profit. It would create another enjoyable money-making activity while making much better use of a part of the map that currently feels empty most of the time. A few ideas that could make Cayo more attractive include: A dedicated hunting/poaching system with a variety of animals. Fishing spots around the island with unique catches or better rewards than the mainland. A marina or secure boat parking, allowing players to leave their boats on Cayo without constantly worrying about them being stolen or destroyed. Small side activities or random events that encourage players to explore different parts of the island. Furthermore, this idea wouldn't only benefit civilians and criminals—it could also create a lot of additional roleplay opportunities for emergency services. For example, LSEMS and their protection details could receive calls involving hunting accidents, where someone has been mauled by a puma, jaguar, or another dangerous animal. Depending on the severity of the injuries, helicopters could be used to airlift patients back to the mainland hospital, creating exciting medical rescue scenarios. It could also generate more roleplay for the police. Imagine a criminal who gets attacked by a wild animal while carrying an illegal firearm or other contraband. Before LSEMS can transport and treat the patient, they would need to request police assistance to secure the scene and deal with any illegal items, creating natural interactions between EMS, law enforcement, and criminals instead of forcing them. To prevent the area from becoming a robbery hotspot, I'd also suggest introducing an OOC rule regarding legal hunters. The goal is to encourage roleplay, not create a location where criminals camp purely to steal legally owned firearms. For example, if a player is hunting with a legally registered firearm and can present a valid firearm or hunting license, criminals should not be allowed to rob them simply to take the weapon. This would prevent the area from becoming a vacuum for free guns while still allowing criminals to interact with hunters through roleplay in other ways if appropriate. At the moment, Cayo is almost exclusively associated with criminal activities, and even then it's only really used for drops or the occasional Super Lab. Giving both legal and illegal players reasons to spend time there would make the island feel alive and make much better use of an area that has a lot of potential. I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks or if you have other ideas that could bring more life to Cayo. sincerly, Jackson JJ Jacobs Quote
