Harley Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 I'd like to suggest something I've seen be super successful in other communities, and I think would really help iron out any issues with upcoming changes The Playtesting Team Currently ECRP relies on trusted members of staff to log onto the dev server to playtest updates. This is definitely an improvement on the past, but the next step would be to open up Playtesting Applications to players, and not limit to just staff. Playtesters must apply through a form, applications should be reviewed by senior staff, just like Staff Applications. The application should include any QA experience, and the players membership within the Playtesting Team relies on them actually testing the updates and leaving feedback/bug reports. Once a player is accepted into the Playtesting team, they recieve a role on Discord that allows them access to: Bug Report Channel Suggestions Channel (For non-bugs but things that could make the update better) Test Discussion Channel for just general chat about the update Scheduled Playtests - For group playtest sessions, mainly useful for updates that require grouped activities, like vehicles for pursuits, etc Changelog - Each patch/update added to the dev server listed here Testing VCs This will only benefit ECRP by giving devs a larger pool of playtesting QA data for upcoming updates. The Playtesting Team should include all sides of the server, including Criminals, LEO, Civilian, etc. to gain the feedback from every demographic for each update. Of course only members of the community who have shown their dedication to the community, are known for constructive criticism, or have built enough trust would be eligble to be accepted into the team, but with very limited access (Except logging into the dev server) the risks are extremely low for ECRP, but the benefits of free QA testing is huge! 1 4 Quote
