Gary Blue Posted August 29, 2024 Report Posted August 29, 2024 Just a mindful consideration I think would go a long way for some players. Far too often do I see blossoming citizens so captivated by the idea that the casino is where they strike it rich rather than consistent effort and relationships. Most every casino/gambling outlet in the Western world has some means of self exclusion. I believe it's implemented quite well for example in Vegas Infinite - formerly "PokerStars VR." Essentially, an individual can set an amount of time in which they themselves cannot participate in any form or specific types of gambling. I believe this would be easily done at the chip/cash cage without much effort and the impact would create far more fruitful and careful spending citizens. Gambling is fun, but it is EXTREMELY obvious that it is rampant and some citizens cannot help but chase that high they once experienced. Myself included at times. Quote
Requiem Posted August 29, 2024 Report Posted August 29, 2024 I can understand where you are coming from, but I believe this could be solved by simply finding some self discipline. I don't think its beneficial to spend dev time on personal problems such as this. Perhaps you can even use it as an IC opportunity for RP by visiting the medical department and scheduling some therapy sessions regarding gambling addiction. Quote
Gary Blue Posted August 29, 2024 Author Report Posted August 29, 2024 I see where you're coming from as well. It does coexist with such real-world solutions like you kind of referenced as well. I don't see it as a waste of time personally. Good points on your end! Quote
