Make the Parole ankle monitor an in game asset

Hiya! I play Doris and I'm currently on Parole with DOC, courtesy of Chunder

currently I have an "ankle monitor" on, which essentially means I can't turn off my phone and I flag up as "Parole" when officers search me name in the MDC, but they HAVE  to search my name.

I'm loving the roleplay, it's really fresh and fun as a crim, but at the moment I can honestly get away with not telling my gang that I am on parole and cops have literally no idea until they check, is it possible to add an ankle monitor to the game?

I'd love for it to be trackable by PD and SD just like you can see their cars on the map, you'd be able to see a Parolee? - In the initial parole meeting we are told that we will be trackable constantly by PD and SD but it seems like that have to track the phone which I'm pretty sure only Detectives and higher can do?

I think it would be great RP for PD and SD (if it gets quiet god forbid) to check on the parolee's who seem to be in the wrong place, their location can even be used as evidence to make them a suspect. this could even be something extra that DOC staff get to do, as I know that the prison can be extremely quiet sometimes and it would add an extra layer of RP for them.

example: Police is called to burger shot, police check the map and see a parolee is there but when they arrive the place is deserted. they now have suspicion that the Parolee committed the crime

I'm hoping the current in game mechanics support this kind of thing already!

TDLR: put tracker anklets in the game and show them on the LEO on Duty GPS so they can physically track us as that's exactly what we sign up for.

Allow this to be used as evidence to detain suspects.

In game asset that actually shows on your ankle i would be for. But, and this is coming from someone who plays most often on my SD character, I do not believe we should be actively seeing parolees on our GPS

Hello, thank you for creating this suggestion!  As someone who assisted and contributed heavily into how the SADOC runs and operates Parole and the Surveillance side, and as someone who is in the command team for Parole, Surveillance and the overall SADOC faction, I have some thoughts on this suggestion.

I like the idea of a visual ankle monitor but I am unsure on how a scripted and visual ankle monitor would work as it looks like it would have to be something brand new and scripted, I will definitely bring it up internally and see what we can think and work with the developers on as it is a cool idea.   From this we could maybe see if a different way of it being tracked so we scriptly track the ankle monitor instead of the parolee's phone so a better and more accurate trace would come back instead of how it currently is via the phone tracing system.

As it is the only people who can RPly track your ankle monitor is the Surveillance officers that are within the SADOC as it is the SADOC that runs and operates both the parole side (releasing, meetings, check-ins) and the surveillance side (surveilling, tracking and ensuring that you are upholding your contract), therefore it would not make sense and would not RPly be possible for PD or SD to be able to track you via your ankle monitor as they are not related or associated with Parole or the workings of it. (Although they could still trace you via your phone).

As the SADOC is the sole faction that is entrusted and that runs the whole parole system, PD or SD can not RPly or ICly do surveillance on you they are not apart of the SADOC's division. And as mentioned this is the job for people within the SADOC which has been ICly communicated through This epic press release!

TL;DR: I will bring the idea of a visual ankle monitor up internally within the SADOC and see what we can do with the developers, including a better and more accurate way of tracking the ankle monitor instead of the current system with the phone's.

The only people who RPly have access and the ability to track you via your ankle monitor is certain people within the SADOC.

Once again, thank you for creating this suggestion!

in the Parole meeting it does say we are actively tracked, its literally what we sign up for in exchange for not going to jail for multiple hours, we gotta earn the right to remove convictions!

thank you so much for this detailed response and I'm glad you like the idea, maybe just make it for DOC then?

I've seen a couple live streams of DOC work and I think it would be an incredible opportunity for DOC guards to track us once they reach a certain rank/responsibility level.

The DOC job role does look unfortunately very uninteresting (just from watching a stream and no personal experience) and I think the ability to be able to get out in vehicles more often to detain broken parole would be amazing.

with this new information I do agree that SD and PD shouldn't track us and I stand corrected with this information!

Of course!  As it is, the SADOC do have the ability to track your ankle monitor just like PD and SD can track you via your phone (It uses the same command and script system, hence why you are required to keep your phone on and charged) Discord Development Post about it.  Contrary to external opinions, the job and faction is very fun and interesting!  The more you spend time in the faction, the more options and opportunities you can apply and have access to (Like Parole and Surveillance!), I definitely recommend the SADOC to people looking for some long-term RP where they feel that they can make a difference in the RP we provide to the community!
