Gtav or gtav online required?

Looking to get into gta v roleplay, and I'm just wondering do I need the online version or the stand alone version of gta 5.  Thanks in advance

Very confusing question... With a purchased GTA V you gain access to GTA Online it is not a separate title, at least not on PC can't speak for consoles, but as far as I know RAGE is only available for PC. If you have GTA V either on Epic, Social Club or Steam you will be able to join the server

RageMP is only available on PC and you need a genuine copy of GTAV to play.
