  1. I like this idea, but I think the only downfall is that people would not be able to override script with RP. For example with blood on bare hands, if a player RPd cleaning their hands in the river, this attribute would still show up when the command is used. Depending on how you see it, this can either limit RP or add to it (possibly encouraging player-to-player interaction as players are likely to comment on inspected attributes). Automatic attributes would have to either be very selective that can’t be removed easily with simple RP, or there would have to be a way for these automatic attributes to be removed, which I suppose would need staff intervention and support as you’d have to prove you performed the RP to have it removed. Besides that, I suppose it is up to the player’s discretion to add these attributes as RP happens in real-time.
  2. Character Descriptions This function allows characters to set descriptions for their characters and is used to describe the immediate physical appearance of a character. Definitions of commands can be read below. /setattributes [Description] This command is used to set the description of the character. This description should describe physical attributes. Set attributes should not describe features of a character that must be explored through interaction (e.g. voice, build for a specific type of sport, hidden tattoos). /inspect [ID] OR /inspect myself This command is used to inspect another character that is in proximity. It can also be used to inspect the description that has been set for a player’s own character. Appropriate uses of the /setattributes command These are all physical features that you would not have to explore further to find out about someone. Age (i.e. that can be guessed within a relative age range), details of clothing (that cannot be added on via. script), and healing injuries (that other players can examine and react to upon inspection / players can set after being taken to the hospital) are a non-exhaustive list of what this command can be used for. John Doe would be relatively short with dark under-eyes. Attached to his uniform are a catalogue of ribbons, and a badge reading Deputy Doe. He smells strongly of cigarettes and aftershave. Katie Jones would appear youthful, between the ages of 21-24. Her stance is quite relaxed, and she appears doe-eyed. Her clothes are baggy and appear very well-worn and un-ironed. Across her right eyebrow is a healing scar. Wrapped around her hand appears to be a dog’s leash. Upon immediate inspection, John Doe would be wearing a cast for his left arm. Both eyes are bruised and swollen red. He presents a large classic-style tattoo across the middle of his chest, with the name “Bianca” spelt in cursive. Inappropriate uses of the /setattributes command The features below are "giving away" things that could be figured out in-character. Describing a character as fit/strong/lean is OK, but do not give away that they kick-box. Voices are also something that can't be found out simply upon looking at someone, or physical quirks such as dimples. Katie Jones would appear quite strong and fit, like she practices kick-boxing regularly. John Doe’s voice is hoarse – as if he had been singing karaoke all evening. Katie Jones’ cheek would be dimpled when she smiles and laughs. How it would work 1. /setattribute [Description] to set the description that shows up for your characters upon inspection. 2. Once an attribute is set, you would be able to /inspect [ID]. This description will show up via. the textbox. Let me know your thoughts and what you think is good, or could be even better!
  3. I would prefer if this was implemented as /inspect ID, which would come up with a description that was set for that character in the text box. For example: /setattribute John Doe would be relatively short with dark under-eyes. Attached to his uniform are a catalogue of ribbons, and a badge reading Deputy Doe. He smells strongly of cigarettes and aftershave. Then, someone in proximity would /inspect John_Doe and that would appear in the chat. I will write up a suggestion and link it under my reply with an edit later today. I feel like this approach would be less cluttered, and any important attributes that need immediate attention can simply be put as a /do.
  4. It was mentioned in the #developments channel that there was a non-vehicle related update that was allegedly to be released within upcoming days from 29/07. This is now over a month ago. I will echo some statements under this thread. Transparency is absolutely key, and the more there is of it, the better, even if it means informing players that X update is at a standstill or discontinued for Y reason (e.g. priority to a new project), as stated by @Harley, or that a deadline has been moved for a new estimate for whatever reason as stated by @Cyrus Raven.
  5. I’ve named my pet so it is working for me. Have you definitely tried putting the ID in after the command (e.g. /petname 0 NAME)?

  7. I have to say, the jewellery heist must easily be one of my favourite moments of ECRP. It was awesome seeing hard work in the planning fully pay off, and seeing people RP be so willing to RP with each other. What was expected to be a simple jewellery heist unexpectedly was caught by cops, and we had no choice but to ceasefire and negotiate our way out.. Awesome display of RP all around. I won't forget how proud I was of everyone in the faction that took part.
  8. From the beginning conversation of this thread, my takeaway was that staff needed more requests to be placed for these RP opportunities as it helps bring a greater understand on how to improve the system in place. This is what I did. When Lola was in Rooks, I placed a request for an RP opportunity on 20 April. I left the faction on 28 April. To my understanding, there has been little to no progress since. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. When my other character, Jade Yang, was in Shenzhen, I placed a request for an RP opportunity for human trafficking 29 March and left the faction 31 March and passed the RP onto George. To my understanding, they were then told that they could not proceed with the RP about two months later at this time as it was very busy. I submitted my most recent RP request for Irish on 29/07 and have yet to hear back of an update. On the topic of requesting RP opportunities, Recently, I have found that I am unable to RP as “alternative characters” in-game for the sole purpose of facilitating RP without also creating a document and receiving approval from staff due to complications with Metagaming. I’ve been told that it’s preferred that members of the events team RP as these alternative characters. Since my time in Irish alone, I have and have had people to RP as command members of the IRA, soldiers of the IRA, conspiracy theorists and snitches, a british stakeknife and infiltrator, British MI6 agent, shipmen of the IRA to deliver bomb materials. This is not an exhaustive list of all the characters I have bought in solely for the facilitation of RP opportunities. I have bought an alternative character for Shenzhen (member of the Triads back in Hong Kong), as well as for Rooks (“Admiral”). Please bare in mind that I needed these alternative characters for almost all of my more in-depth planned RP. Since I found out that it was preferred for a staff member RPd as an alternative character for us, I wrote up the document not even 30 minutes later and placed a request. I requested this on 20/07 and have not heard back. From a procedural perspective, I can understand why some sort of monitoring needs to be put in place. However, from my own perspective as a player that just wants to RP and create RP for the community, this is simply frustrating. Where I previously could request permission for RP opportunities and receive a response within a day, I now have to wait weeks with little to no updates, progress, or even promise that this RP will go ahead. By the time that the RP could be approved, circumstances in-game have probably changed, by this I mean relations, storyline, or even my involvement in said faction. These are all things that can change quickly, which is why a faster procedure to push out these requested RP opportunities is crucial. I know I don’t need to RP with the reliance of script, I feel versed in my understanding on how to do this, but so much of the RP that I want to do now requires further intervention, which now takes weeks to plan, write, review, then discuss, which is taxing my own creativity and motivation to create more. What I mentioned in my post is the experience and perspective of my own. Please don’t take what I say as a means of disrespect. I want to RP as much as everyone on this server wants to, but there needs to be more of an urgency to push these RP opportunities through. None of the larger scaled RP that I have planned so far (by larger-scaled, I mean those involving my entire faction plus additional) would have been possible without the immediate support from SA+, which is was once previously before. Further insight on what has changed since the beginning of this thread in terms of the procedure in place would be appreciated.
  9. Requesting the descriptive marker using the /dmarker command Blip that appears upon descriptive marker being approved. Text that shows up in chat when you step over the marker.

Part II, III, IV to be added.
  11. I think then with all the points considered, the main things as summarised to implement this would be: - To add, use command /descriptivemarker or /dmarker for short. To delete, stand over marker and /deletemarker OR /clearmarker to remove all existing markers when not nearby or when more than 1 descriptive marker at once is accepted. - Allowing support/senior support to review marker descriptions to alleviate work load from administrative team. - Implement a timer on set marker (1 hour) until expiration. - Implement a cool down (1 descriptive marker maximum per week to begin with as a “trial”) - Make it so that players have to be either on top of the marker to see it displayed like an admin marker OR have it then show up in the chat box when moving over the marker. This would also come after being added to the commands list to explain its appropriate use. More examples of what this would look like in practice and what markers would be considered appropriate is TBA.
