This is simple yet awesome idea and will add to the media economy and system. Now aside from Weasel News and a few other outlets we have the " Los Santos Magazine "!. Really hope to see all sorts of sections, news, entertainment, music and business etc. This has potential for a lot of cool informative and cool releases!. Definitely going to keep an eye on the Classifieds section more often now.

Would love to see more regular content on this, also would be really cool to have like a " Live PD " style knockoff mini video patrol series. Record some stops and chases, shootouts and various other highlights. Either way always love to check in on this thread!.

Who said anything about PG?. If you joined a faction and OOC'ly agreed to this potentially happening what is wrong with that?. And what about when both parties agree?. Is it Power Gaming when it's mutual and agreed to?. I don't understand that. And also there IS something stopping me from RP'ing a CK on a gang member. It's legit in the rules. The only form of CK that is allowed is suicide. Meaning I could not even roleplay performing a CK even if myself and the to be CK'ed party mutually agree to it. It's against the server rules. You would legit have to force someone to commit suicide for the CK to be valid with the current rules lol.

Lmao, I have been RP'ing since 2008 on SAMP. Trust me, I have been on servers with 500-800 players online at a time. Appreciate it if you didn't be so presumptuous and condescending when replying to me. I'm not new to Role Play on the GTA series by any means.

So because the CK is not your choice it's not ok?. In my opinion when you join a faction you are putting your future and your life in their hands. The higher ranks and bosses have control, you don't anymore. Unless you are a high ranking member of course or something. I don't see anything wrong with an official faction having the ability to CK their prospective members. To be honest I have never seen a server where the ONLY CK was suicide. The fact that parties cannot even personally agree to CK is also rather odd. Once again , I'm not saying every player has the power to authorize an attempted CK. This would only apply to like the top 1-2 ranks of OFFICIAL and possibly Unofficial factions. This is not a situation of every robbery ending in CK. What I'm referring to and talking about are specific situations within a group of people who are roleplaying. So what happens if a faction member straight up betrays your group and gives away your radio freq, and PK's your highest ranking member in his house and loots your stash for everything. You just go what " Your out of the gang " ?, lmao. In the context of Organized Crime, and the Factions themselves I don't see anything wrong with CK'ing if both parties agree to it. That's where I stand on that. Also when you get CK'ed it's not like you lose your XP and everything along with it. You legit just change your name and appearance with plastic surgery and create a new story and begin your journey with said new character. It's not the end of the world. And one more time for reiteration. I am ONLY talking about CK's that are agreed to by both parties while in a Official/Unofficial faction.

No comment on New Life Rule, however the fact that not even Official Factions have the option to CK joined characters and members is kinda nuts. That should be included in some sort of agreement when you join any official or unofficial faction. You can be CK'ed by that faction. The fact that suicide is the only CK method is kind of limiting and really restricts possible roleplay possibilities for peoples characters to come to an end. I remember years ago in SAMP on a very heavy RP server I was a Prospect with the " White Knights MC ", and there was six other prospects. By the time two months went by four of the six Prospects were CK'ed. Some due to violating IC rules and selling drugs/guns to hang arounds, some for bringing too much police attention, some for drunkenly mouthing off to the Sgt. At Arms. Long story short, Character Killing (CK's) should be a contractual possible checkmark when you join a Faction.

People here simply don't care. It's all about the pew pew and bang bang. Not the roleplay. Not completely true, but for the most part. It's just how it is. Even if you cannot do the handsup animation fast enough, or simply take a few seconds to understand a command people will just kill you. To them it's easier to hit I and loot your wounded body instead of roleplaying a frisk and keeping you alive. I understand your frustration however, I have not even been able to complete RP at multiple areas because of repetitive low quality RP robberies. It's just part of the game sadly. And in this community armed robbery is about 75% of all criminal activity aside from chopping vehicles and having meetings with other gangs to decide who to ally/enemy/rob next. Lmao, it's a vicious , stupid cycle and I think only characters of limited roleplay skill resort to robberies all the time. I wish things were different, but sadly this is the way it is. And now you need 3-5 armed guards minimum to even farm, make a bag of marijuana, or even do other remedial tasks and other RP.

Welcome to Eclipse, where 3/4ths of the criminal roleplay consists of robberies and muggings. You must be new here. Anywhere outside of a NCZ you will be targeted and robbed. Many times, almost systematically. Anyone who uses drug processing knows this too. You cannot roleplay or do ANYTHING there for more than 5-10 minutes without a stick up crew coming to rob everyone. After being here for month or two now I get why the behavioral reports are a thing. It's for stuff like this guy is experiencing. I bet you he cannot even farm for a half hour without being robbed and executed. That's just lame. But what is more lame in my opinion are the Groups/Factions that go around with the " Handsup In 5 seconds or I shoot " techniques. And there is plenty of them. It's gotten to the point where people might as well just draw and assume they will have to fire on and engage anyone who pulls up to their RP area at Farms or Processing. When nobody is out to RP together, and everyone is out to rob each-other you get this toxic environment where everyone is quick to pull a gun and escalate the situation. Just my opinion on the situation though. I'v accepted the fact this is not a " Heavy Roleplay " Server , and I have gotten used to the various low quality robbery RP that is all to common. Sadly you will have to get used to it to.

Appreciate the kind words buddy, so do we some day!. However we are small and still growing and months and months away from that odd's are. I hope for the faction to slowly grow as the server is and to apply when the time is right.
ACTIVITY NOTICE : I have had some hardware issues as of late and unfortunately have to order multiple parts in order to get my PC running again. I will personally be inactive for the next week or two until I get my parts, and will update you guys ASAP. I'll be having another member post the Chapter updates, however based on this I would expect a delay on the RP posted in the coming weeks. That all being said I will return and Chapter IV will be released soon enough as well as additional RP posts and updates from the Faction. The set was going on about a week back in town. And although some homies have yet to arrive in town the small foundation is relentless in their efforts to come up. Within the week the set has secured multiple properties and four to six vehicles. Not to mention they have gotten some much needed help and guidence in regards to growing some cannabis and being able to harvest, dry and cure and bag it up for sale or use. Along with securing the cannabis connection the set also had a chance encounter and made a connection for pieces. With the Set just starting out, and out-manned and out-gunned by many neighboring gangs and other criminal organizations this connection was key. The set was now capable of arming themselves for defensive purposes at a minimum. And had even stockpiled multiple firearms. Not everything is going as smooth as the steel though, although the set figured out how to grow they are having issues with being out-muscled off cultivation territory. And still with no connections for coke or dope and or heavier weapons there was much work to be put in. And the foundational three to four members would not be sufficient, and the set is now reaching out to African American youth in the Los Santos area to use as muscle and potential set members.

RP Summary : Two of the set members take there knowledge of a local grow location and attempt to use their seeds and grow some cannabis to then harvest, dry and trim and cure and package for sale. However with their lack of firepower and manpower combined there are too many other gangs and criminal groups encroaching and muscling the set off of the area. The members have no choice but to take some plants for future processing, as an ambush robbery attempt leads to a game of surveillance in the woods and hills.

RP Summary: After a set member felt out the new connection for guns the funnel began. Members began stacking bundles of cash for payments for guns. Doe had secured not only multiple firearms for himself, but was able to arm the entire set and then some. It's looking like down the line after the weed and dope and coke game gets going that firearms could be distributed as well. However with funds still low the set had to purchase most of the pieces individually, leading to more general risk.

OOC Note : We are at the end of our first week, and have managed to squeeze in three different RP Story Chapter Updates in that time. Our member base is almost complete and only more person is awaiting application approval. We have manged to accomplish a lot both when it comes to in game assets and connections, as well as roleplay in general. As stated previously we are trying to portray and really show our gradual criminal grind. As you can tell we are starting with petty crime and making the appropriate connections and investments for our current circumstances. When the set IC'ly expands and gets more cash connects and assets we will dive further and further into more violent and serious criminal RP. We have been through B & E 's, Car Robberies, Store Stick Ups, and are working our way to Chopping Cars and dealing Cannabis now. And shortly after we intend to involve heavier drugs into the RP, and gradually firearms as well as performing other higher tier criminal jobs as listed on our faction goals. Now we are going to do our best to expand the set.

I didnt really run into many RP scenarios with much context yet. I guess my best bet is joining a faction if I’m looking for high standard roleplay?
There are many player factions, both illegal and legal and official and unofficial. And I would say usually their standard for RP is generally higher. I have personally had my best RP with Los Santos Customs, EMS / FD and other factions ironically. That's not to say the general civilian player base is not skilled, but you will see a lot of people just being isolative and doing their own daily routines. Also based on the server population and map size there are certain " hot spots " where a lot of RP occurs.

Hahah awesome, yeah ironically enough we have had multiple caucasian characters approach us to join. Sadly IC'ly and OOC'ly the set is African American based, I'm trying to include that information for peoples general knowledge if they intend to try and RP with the group. We are getting to be 5-7 days in and I'm very satisfied with what we have accomplished thus far. However I still intent do do Chapter like RP updates multiple times per week, and really want to get some videos of RP posted. Keep an eye out for that stuff soon!, and thanks for the support!.

Also just a heads up those 20k properties were all bought up about a week ago. The average price now for a unit there or strawberry ave or even carson ave is 100k minimum. I have even seen some at 150-200k for some reason. It does not make sense based on the size, but sadly that's what happened in the Grove area.

Welcome to Eclipse and my best advice is to set some basic small goals for yourself!, that is of course after you decide what kind of character you want to play as. There is a lot of paths to take when it comes to roleplaying a character. Try and think and decide what path would be right for your first character!. And remember you can always create and 2nd Character as well!.

I'll say what I said to another new user.
Best advice I can give is to know what character you want to play. Think of a name, gender, race, and maybe even past history and such. When it comes to role playing you are sort of playing out a movie. You just need to create a character to play in that said movie. And that is up to you. You could be a regular working class stiff, working 9-5 doing legal jobs. You could be a criminal in some sort of faction or gang, and be into all sorts of crimes. You could be a paramedic, and aid the citizens of San Andreas. Not to mention the Los Santos Police Department and the Government and LS Customs and various other groups. You can even be a regular ol' taxi driver!. Almost anything you can think of you can become and be on the RP server. You just have to have imagination and create a story and character and get started!.

Welcome!, I was on Next Generation Role Play (NGRP) and Los Santos Role Play (LSRP) back in the days of SAMP!. Good to see another old school SAMP player stepping into the next generation. Big difference you will notice is most of the RP occurs through the VOIP. So you do not need to do nearly as many /me's and /do's and other various /commands. Although it's still advised to utilize them within your roleplay when appropriate. Best of luck settling into the server!, best advice I can give is set some reasonable goals for yourself early. And of course choose what type of character you want to play on the server.

Allow PD and SD to decide prison sentences!

People need serious ramifications for their actions. A mere half hour or hour in jail is a joke RP'ly IMO. For people stacking 5-7 major violent charges or murderous ones we should be talking multiple hours at a minimum. With the Corrections faction and appropriate members and RP standards and routines the prisoners should have enough well regimented and scheduled roleplay stuff to do in prison to keep them from wanting to AFK or be isolative. Have guards schedule them to RP'y go to the laundry room and do laundry, or virtually any other recreational or scheduled activity. I don't think there is anything wrong with extended prison and jail sentences as long as the activities and RP in the prisons is kept to a certain standard to avoid people just walking around doing nothing to avoid being AFK kicked and listening to music. These longer sentences, along with the possible NLR change and CK arrangements could really step up Eclipse Roleplay from a light-medium RP server to more of a heavy one. And I for one would appreciate and embrace that gradual transformation. And I think in the long run all of these aforementioned changes would not only benefit our current community but cause it to grow. Good suggestion and thread, love it.
