Dope, we have missed our neighbors. Sadly interactions gang/faction wise are pretty slim. Will be good to have you and the Ballas back active and on the streets again!.

That sounds oddly specific xD but fair enough makes sense to me RP'ly. I imagine had their been some different diplomacy or something maybe all of it could have been averted. Either way always a shame to see a potentially good faction dwindle out of existence so early. The way she goes I suppose!.

I don't understand either, this , the bloods, so many Factions seemingly with ten or more members start and then die in less than a month. I don't get it.

Personally I think an enforced roleplay standard would be viable. Additionally, I feel like the quiz should include almost every hypothetical scenario question we have.

What specifically is a enforced roleplay standard?. Is that something that you guys have already or is this a concept of yours?. Is it more in game or we talking still application stage type of standard?. Also I agree with your statement regarding the Quiz too, IMO there needs to be more and generally harder questions. Also I would +1 you but your 187 and that's even better than 420. Cannot bump ya' off the 187 upvotes it's too dope. 😎

Fishing could get more fish maybe from using boat too. Also you could have a lot of potential for RP. Make some more Processing Sites by the water and have boat routes, generating drug smuggling and the need for law enforcement boat unit RP. Ontop of all this you could have your every day rich folk partying on a yacht, as strangers in the distance RP dumping bodies in the water on little Dinghy's. So much potential for RP in the water!.

-1 New players aint the problem... There is ofcourse people who can't rp a shit and break all rules when they come but because someone else filled their application and they will do if you make it harder. People who want to learn rp they will actually try to learn and will ask for help. The problem is not new players problem if you can see who break rules the most its older players...

Well thought out and good reply, I did not think of that!. If there really is a plague of people doing their applications for other players is there a security system that could be em-placed to fix this?. Like IP linked-UCP accounts that way only one person can apply/connect to said account for security purposes?. And if the older and more settled players who break all the rules how are they still here?. I notice some people have multiple bans even going on 5. Is there a permanent ban system in place on Eclipse when it comes to moderation and administrative punishment?. Based on a lot of peoples actions in game they don't even care about Forum Complaints and or getting administrative punishment. If you get like three bans do you get perma banned?. What is the actual system in place when it comes to repeated punishments?. If it's not the new players in the community causing the problems and it's the well embedded players than there is systematically something wrong.

You can rply invalidate the contract. If person refuses to transfer back car since rply it was transfered by law you can go to admin and claim it. But person who powergames by not transfering car doesn't get punished for some kind of reason.

Which is exactly why regardless of it being an IC' blue collar " scam " crime, within NCZ it should be against the rules to protect new players who can be abused. I understand that if someone is scamming under limit and RP'ly with some cool business roleplay it's one thing. But to just scam people all day at populated NCZ's with new players should be unacceptable. And there should be protections in place to prevent it. IC'ly I have legit stopped so many new players from getting scammed infront of the bank it's disgusting. At what point does it go from an IC roleplay form of minor criminal come up, to an OOC rule violation?. I think when your within an NCZ, over limit, or doing it to a new player should be that point.

  9. Alright, going to be brutally honest. As of now Eclipse is a light-medium RP server. I think most if not all of the community is aware of that, and there is nothing wrong with it either. However with NLR and CK change recommendations recently along with higher jail times and possible DOC changes we could see the server shift to slightly more serious and heavy RP. However being blunt the whitelist/application system to get into the server now is rather minimal. And I know months ago there was a thousand applications backed up. But I know now there is a lot of quiz staff and I personally got my results in under 4 days. Meaning enough people apply to this server daily to justify setting some higher standards to potentially weed out poor RP'ers and or general bad applicants. A lot of new players cheat on the quiz and use google and or Youtube for answers, and or even spam messages to people in the server discord begging for help. And once they cheat and pass the server quiz all they have to type character story wise is a measly paragraph. The character/word limit on the " Background Story " section when you apply is legit limited to 350 characters. And if that is the limit what is the requirement?. It is way too low IMO. I had a whole 800-1,000 + word character story ready and I was not even able to paste it into the field. It legit stopped around 350-400 words. Meaning like only a bundle of sentences really. In summary, it needs to be harder to pass quiz and people should be expected to type longer and better character stories for vetting on RP purposes. Bare in mind I have come to love this server and it is my home for everything online with GTA, this comes completely from a place of love and desire to better the community in which I am playing in. Please feel free to reply with your +/- and let me know what you ladies and gents think.  Do you think the Quiz and server application itself is hard enough?. Do you think it should be easier to let in more players?. Feel free to comment and discuss as you please!.

My ideas for Server Application Change ...

Note : I know there is an IC forum section for character stories. I'm merely pointing out the current very LOW word requirement and limit on the server form text field when you first apply for Eclipse RP.

    Ideas for Quiz Section :

Add at least 10-15 more Quiz questions, and update the quiz routinely to account for new and or changed rules

Add multi-choice sections that are actually challenging and require people to KNOW the rules - NOT JUST RECITE THEM BACK

Add multiple hypothetical scenario based questions, testing if their interpretation of the rules is really correct. ( IE Robbery situations, Hostage, Police interactions, Fear RP and intimidation, etc )

    Character Story Section Change Ideas

Increase Character/Word count in the text field area to a minimum of 600-800 words

Increase standards for accepting applications based on applicants submitted Character Background Story , so..

    - Don't accept if the story is riddled with spelling errors

    - Don't accept if the story is so poorly worded you can tell the person cannot even proficiently speak English enough to use VOIP appropriately to communicate IG

    - Dont accept if the story is deemed to low quality of and RP background story. Generally expect more from applicants who want to play here

    In Summary :

EASIER APPLICATION  = More Low Quality RP'ers and bad applicants get through - Server pop goes up but it's all non-rp robbery and DM all day

HARDER APPLICATION = Higher quality RP because those with low or no RP skill will not even get into the server - server pop grows slower , but you get quality over quantity

actually gangs roll up on cops a lot.

Maybe in Brazil, or other Countries in which are so socially unstable. That however is not within the RP realm of what is being portrayed here. San Andreas is a modern first world City.

  11. +1 , only people against this are the scummy scammers that try and sell " crates " to new players outside of the bank. Shame on yall. My roomate's character almost got fooled and scammed on that once. He asked IC'ly after one of these scammers rushed over to him at the bank after he parked.

    Scammer:  "WANT A CRATE?!, ONLY 5K!. "

    Friend : " What's in the crate? "

Scammer : " Could be anything! (EA Games Smile) "

    Friend : " Anything of value ? "

Scammer : " You pay 5k for crate, and it could have up to 10k of items inside! "

Friend : " This sounds like a scam and or like " loot box " in some modern video game the kids play

Scammer : " No, No!. No Scam!. There could be furniture, guns or some really good stuff inside! "

Friend : " Or there could be nothing...."

    Scammer : *Silence*

Scammer : *Drops crates from hands and picks it back up and puts in inventory, walking off awkwardly realizing my roomate is not stupid enough to get scammed at NCZ*

Only Cadets tend to that and it needs way more attention. To be honest the LSPD should not be wasting it's time with clerical parking stuff like this. I was going to say maybe make a LSPD Division for " Parking Enforcement " but that would just pull manpower from the streets that could actually be used to fight real crime. IMO Government should be handed this responsibility based on the fact that LSPD Officers and Cadets should have more important stuff to do than figuring out impounded vehicles. The fact that so many people are incapable of going to the parking lot and or using their home/apartment garage before heading out of town is baffling to me. Half of this is because people use static NCZ parking areas as IC parking lots. Like at the Bank, every day and night people leave probably 20+ vehicles there that have to be admin impounded because not even the LSPD can impound that many.

This is the epitome of bad roleplay. This server already has a plague like epidemic of robberies right now.  Also even in the light/medium RP we are in on Eclipse now robbing law enforcement is illogical and non-rp. You would not drive around and rob law enforcement IRL, and as such on this RP server it should not be allowed either. The LSPD and Sheriff's are already constantly DM'ed and baited and dragged into repetitive shootouts tens of times daily. If people were allowed to rob and target them it would probably just become unbearable for any LEO to even log in and patrol. Let's look at how being a civilian/criminal is in the server environment is now...

    - Get gas = robbed

    - Walk out of 24/7 from basic food purchase = Robbed

    - Go home to your apartment = followed and robbed

    - Walk out of your apartment = robbers already robbing your neighbor

    - Walk ten feet out of bank NCZ zone = robbed

    - Even THINK about getting 500m near a drug processing site = robbed

If with all the poor robbery spam RP going on you think that adding the ability to rob LAW ENFORCEMENT is what is needed..-...you may be part of the problem.

However breakdown and assembly should take time.

If that is implemented the timer for locks/unlocks could be used or a similar one with different title obviously and maybe adjusted time for said timer. What would be a reasonable time for shotgun/rifle breakdown?. Obviously it should not be like 2 seconds or something short as that. But at the same time it should not be a full 30 second thing either. Practically speaking there are shotguns and rifles than can be easily folded and or collapsed down or disassembled rather quickly. Maybe 15 seconds for heavy weapon breakdown?. Or 10?. Anything lower than 10 feels like to little. And anything over 20 seems a bit much.

  15. As of now I still see a lot of sports vehicles off road, most of which sadly drive 100+ most of the times I see them. However I have seen some people in standard sedans/coupes up in the mountains but they were driving slow. Like 30-40, because it legit could not push any harder at that incline lmao.

Prison times need to be unlocked for server progression, i rather enjoyed LSRPs long prison times it was interesting to beat people up and run a prison.

Funny you mention that a lot of the suggestions I have for activities and routines for DOC here were taken from my time and what I saw when I RP'ed on the server you mentioned near a decade ago. In that server Inmates had routines, activities, inspections, meals, so much going on during the day and night. If there is roleplay going on and options for inmates they will not AFK in prison. If there is not, they will. I remember on that server a high risk inmate got transferred in and he had 72 ACTUAL hours to serve. But it was not a problem to him. Know why?. Because there was so much RP to be had in DOC. As mentioned before, the yard , cafeteria, cell inspection, laundry detail, so many things the guards RP'ed with the prisoners to pass the time. Meanwhile here you have a mine, whoopdy doo. There needs to be some serious changes with the Prison and DOC and this entire issue will resolve itself.

+1 To this. I rarely end up going to prison, I've done 2 sentences in my 8 months on the server as a criminal but I still feel that there should be a limit to the amount of time you can spend in prison. Before the whole charge reset I was looking at serving around 50 hours in prison since the new update was introduced. Yes, this was months of charges but lets take this as an example.

    1. I'll get caught eventually and have to spend 10+ hours minimum in one sitting with 0 AFK.
    - This is a terrible experience considering the attitude of prison guards (end up in lockdown 50% of the time with 0 explanation) and refusing to engage in RP, instead of salary farming looking down on you from the bridge.
    - Perhaps re-allow people to AFK their sentence or even introduce it so the sentence goes down when offline on that character at 0.25x speed. It could also be introduced that if they want to AFK they must sit inside a cell to do so, this will disrupt others RP even less.

    2. Prison Stamps
    - These need a full rework as much of a shame as is this is, the system is good in theory but the time stamps reduce your time per amount spent in unbalanced, never mind the 1.5k buy-in for poker.
    - Increase the value of stamps by lowering the costs of items/lowering prison poker costs and convert the stamps to a real currency so they're not lost on death in the prison (90% falling through the floor)

As for the people claiming "Oh I've hit my jtime cap time to go crazy with crime" this is not the case for any criminal - with the introduction of debt the fines are a large factor and help prevent criminals from going wild. At the end of the day, criminals are still going to commit crime even if they have/haven't reached their jail time cap.

Overall I believe that there should be a cap somewhere in the range of 4-6 hours which is still a lot of time to be punished. I work 40 hours a week, coming home after work to the thought of spending 3/5 weeknights sitting basically AFK is not a good way to be punished as it feels like more of an OOC punishment rather than IC.

" coming home after work to the thought of spending 3/5 weeknights sitting basically AFK is not a good way to be punished as it feels like more of an OOC punishment rather than IC. "

That above quote to me indicates that DOC roleplay is so minimal it's not even considered an IC situation or Prison. It's being fully embraced as an OOC jail and people are treating it as such and AFK'ing and stuff.

The fact we have people arguing and formulating statements in defense of AFK'ing in Prison/Jail alone should prove that there is a deeper rooted issue here that is not being addressed. In no way shape or form should any form of AFK'ing be tolerated, more a less moderated and allowed. If we are really at this point then it should be evident that something is wrong with the prison system and structure here.

    Are you ok?.

  20. I have legit almost NEVER seen anyone RP rolling a blunt and smoking it ( Doing RP along with using marijuana, not just using it alone. Add /me's and couch and RP when you smoke etc). I have also never seen anyone roleplay smoking crack or using heroin either. No snorting cocaine or needle use RP one bit. I will admit I have seen some players take LSD since it has a long effect time and some even creating RP around their trips and doses. That is really cool. And as OP said there needs to be more drug roleplay aside from just farming the drug at processing and selling it. That is not RP. It's just a grind for cash and a job ( which I have no problem with ). But Aside from creating and smuggling/delivering the drugs off for a flat rate the drugs should actually be roleplayed with aside from that. We need more effects, timers and such that encourage people to actually USE drugs and not just go to drop off and dump them all. Give people a reason to want to roleplay with these items. Same with alcohol, let's boost the effects and timers. I want to see people drinking 40 oz's and smoking blunts on street corners. I want to see junkies RP'ing shooting up heroin in alleys by those vagrant camps. I want to see stick up crews doing an 8 ball of cocaine and RP'ing snorting it and getting all revved up before a jacking. I want to see bikers smoking meth pipes and RP'ing paranoia and other insane stuff!. Can we actually bring some roleplay to the drugs and the characters possessing and using them?. Not just delivering them?. Let's step up the drug roleplay a few notches here.

No. Going to prison is not an OOC punishment. It is an IC one. You are not allowed to roleplay in admin jail, you are allowed to roleplay in prison. There are a couple of prison breaks every few days, that wouldn't be possible if it was an OOC punishment, would it now?

I think the main reason prison is "stupid and boring" is because people go in with that attitude. The fact of the matter, there is very little difference between sitting in prison RPing or sitting next to the 24/7 behind bank RPing. You can talk to people, roleplay, do whatever. The only exception to that is solitary, which is another discussion entirely.

Agree with that first part, but I don't think that people consider DOC boring and stupid based on attitude alone. They are saying it's boring and stupid because it is. It's a IC prison with no IC roleplay to be had. That is what nearly half of the replies on this thread are about. DOC needs to offer more for prisoners. As I and others have said above. Give people some things to roleplay and do within DOC and maybe they will not be bored and hate it so much. As of now people punch, stand, and walk inside DOC. Those are the three actions that show the full extent of current RP in DOC. A hall, cells, and isolation area. Those three minor spaces and nothing else facilitate minimal RP. " The fact of the matter, there is very little difference between sitting in prison RPing or sitting next to the 24/7 behind bank RPing. You can talk to people, roleplay, do whatever. ". If there is no difference in setting, environment or roleplay standards between the bank , 24/7 or the Prison than there is a serious problem here. I hope other people would see that.

100% hit the nail on the head of the CORE issue. As someone with extensive OOC corrections knowledge who ultimately would love to work for SADOC, calling the prison RP on this server lacking would probably be too kind. I am honestly astonished that DOC is so far behind the other factions in RP. Is there even anyone at the DOC helm setting a threshold? There appear to be enough employees, facilities and im sure creative minds in the DOC to make the RP everyone has been asking for happen.

Thanks, appreciate it. I'm not here to argue with any staff or bad mouth DOC I am simply saying what I have heard and observed personally about DOC. I'm tempted to say what needs to happen, but I already did in a above reply so I'm not going to repeat myself. Bottom line is there is so little RP to be had in Prison it's almost considered OOC jail to most people in their head. That is a problem that needs to be addressed and it seems like a lot of people just want to dance around the DOC issue and talk about sentencing.
