  1.  I personally do not see a difference between buying an apartment's for credits and renting it out for ingame money, to sending someone money irl for money ingame, it shouldn't be a thing at all.

Cars are different, they were only obtainable years ago and there aren't that many of them around anyway, I fail to see how few vehicles can affect the experience the same way as infinite amount of apartment's that can be purchased/rented

Imo, Civ RP isn't about the ''normie'' things as you put it, it's about engaging in Roleplay that is outside of the normal Cops vs Robbers dichotomy.

I don't think Civ RPers need to first show a commitment to buying groceries RP'ly or RP'ing going to sleep before being able to ask for script support for a basic business bank accounts, the same way I wouldn't feel it's reasonable to except criminals to RP cooking drugs, chopping cars, getting imports before justifying implementing these as script features. Being a Civ RPer does not mean being an NPC concerned with the most boring and mundane tasks, there's a balance to be had imo, probably not the best use of resources to focus on stuff like item generation until the events/restaurant/retail RP scene picks up more steam instead of being a flavour of the week type of deal, but there should be broader support for suggestions that will impact everyone (e.g. business bank accounts, business F4 menu) which will hopefully pave the way for that type of RP.

I never said suggestions that as a whole improve the experience for example the ones you listed ( bank accounts, business f4 menu etc ) shouldn't be implemented, quite the opposite. But I do believe that CIV RP focused features would be a waste of time from the perspective of usage compared to effort put into them, because if 90% + of the server population is a part of a faction and spend most of their time doing things related to it, the amount of time they will spend on a monthly basis doing something outside of it will not even be comparable to it. Don't get me wrong, I am all up for everything to get more and more things and openings for people to use their creativity and imagination, but from the perspective of time invested I would always go for something that either:
    a) every individual playing would use on a daily basis ( such as bank accounts, f4 menu for personal business etc. )
    b) related to improving the depth of crim or faction rp

But in regards to CIV RP, sure I can see where you are coming from, but the same way I didn't agree that every criminal should afk 24/7 in their rv cooking ( when labs were taken out and everyone cooked personally ) I do not agree that every civ should be a businessman. IMO any sort of  improvements/additions will be looked from the POV of " is this going to make me any money ", and not how can I use this to expand on to my roleplay experience.. Cause let's be honest, almost nobody RPs a character or a life, but only a job with hints of a lifestyle/character progression here and there occasionally, so personally I do not see how CIV RP should be focus of improvements while the legal/crim system have a lot to be in terms of providing freedom as to how they spend their day to days, where majority of the players will

Yeah, it’s literally playing to the rules. Doing something in a very specific way because any other method leads to catching punishments. But, then you see complaints about how people are play to win and all the interactions are the same.

If the goal is to create a better roleplay standard in the server, then we’ve failed.

If the goal is create a more enjoyable environment in the server for illegal role players, then we’ve failed.

I’m not dumb, I know this is going to fall on deaf ears but it needs saying because we’ve created this environment of soft, sweaty rule-players. They ain’t reporting if they win a situation, even if rules have been broken, why you think that is?
I really hope the end goal here is a better standard of dynamic roleplay in the server because if it’s anything else, we are wasting our time but we ain’t ever gunna get there like this.
If people are actually faced with real consequences that are backed up by common sense, they’ll be less likely to do the dumb shit.

Again a topic in which I agree with Bala, not sure whether it's due to the amount of time we've both spent here, or our similar mindset when it comes to RP, but ruleplaying has been a thing ever since the dm/robbery rules got changed ( I cannot remember when that exactly was ) imo, and all of these restrictions and specifications that need to happen to allow you to do X or Y is what's causing all of it IMO.

The way I see it, deathmatching should be treated the exact same way insults used to be ( I've heard since I am back that those are now regulated as well even though they are purely IC and anyone that takes offense to them outside of their character, are basically mixing but that's another topic ).

Rules shouldn't dictate situations, IC actions should. If you deserve to be shot, you get shot, if you deserve to be beaten, you get beaten. It's very simple how our minds are able to determine what scenario requires a use of a firearm and what gets resolved with fists or verbal communication IRL, but somehow everyone is trying to tell me that here we cant?
Cmon.. IC is IC, sure outliers such as ppl shooting up a bank, or pier ( as it used to be a case ) or people vdming cuz they are bored should be deal with on the spot, no reports needed.
But if people had more freedom to react the way they believe is right, it would reduce the amounts of reports ( Imo ), which would reduce the amount of rule playing as you wouldn't be as scared of being reported after every thing you do.

Most people probably wouldn't remember, but for sure Balla and the people that used to play then would, but there was a shooting at DOC, me and Gamble were being arrested, huge amount of pd/sd/doc/md were involved from legal side, Irish, Zetas, Clowns ( maybe Triads ? cannot remember if they were around at the time ), it resulted in a shootout involving 150+ people, I do not recall a single report coming from that scenario, it lasted for idk 20-30 minutes, 50-60 vehicles all over DOC Parking lot etc. and yet somehow nobody felt " hurt " oocly enough to make a report, because it was good shit, everyone had fun and everyone was involved in something that made sense ICly and RPly.

TLDR:  The more restrictions are added to each rule, the more ruleplaying will be done, and every scenario will feel fake and scripted because it ends up being a tick the box exercise instead of an organic interaction between humans.

PS: This doesn't mean that rules shouldn't be enforced or a thing, but that scenarios should be looked at dynamically in regards to the circumstantial evidence of each one individually and basing the judgement call whether it was realistic reasoning to do X or Y from situation to situation, instead of trying to fit every single scenario into a single mold where you have to tick certain box in order to allow actions to happen. The exact same situation between 2 random people or 2 gang members from opposite gangs which are currently hostile towards each other due to a certain reason will not share the same mindset of actions in the situation, while 2 people that have never met each other would perhaps take things more cautiously and try and play it as safe as possible, gangs in war will not care for stuff such as whether anyone would see or if they will go to prison, or if they might die at the end of it.

To tell you the truth, I couldn't honestly tell you where the focus is anymore, we're all a bit all of the place. I look at the experience of being a cop and listen to some of the opinions of my own faction members and could quite easily make a similar thread to you Checkky, about how being in PD feels. I'm sure there are crims who could likely do the same and there would be a fair bit of merit to what they say.

I've been here for about 4 and a half years now and I have to be honest with you, I still think it's a server that works best as cops v. criminals as opposed to trying to really cater to other types of roleplay. I look at the quality of roleplay available, I look at how tribal everything gets between factions and I think it's just a natural fit for any GTA RP server to focus on bad guys and good guys.

Civilian RP struggles to find its place, because there isn't a framework and importance on things like character customisation and character development. There's a lot of just playing yourself or if they do delve a little bit, they realise it's probably not to their advantage to go too deep with it when a lot of the fellow players just care about whether a situation goes in their favour.

I got all the respect for people that don't want to be in a crim faction or don't want to be in law enforcement but in terms of what it does for the server, I think focusing on improving crim and cop does more for this server than civvy RP.

^ this is the reality. I've had a similar conversation around 2019 ~ with Purm and cant remember who else, so I don't have to repeat what Balla said using different words or phrasing, point im trying to make is, I can guarantee that every individual no matter what sort of RP are they doing would prefer if they had more features related to the RP they are interested in.

I am yet to see a single person do the most common RP tasks such as buying groceries and carrying them to their home, driving a town car and not the most expensive/fastest car they own, or taking a shower/putting their clothes on.. Sure people do all that when it comes to character story development posts on forums, but in reality nobody ever does any of these " normie " things on the day to day, I mean nobody even goes to home and RPs going to bed before logging off, but instead just alt f4s either after parking a car or hopping off duty. It's kinda weird to ask for script support or " civilian RP upgrades " when even the most basic things that fall under civ RP something that each and every one of us tho every single day is not present.

I understand the idea behind it, but at the end of the day untill the RP Quality of Civ RP is brought to a much higher standard, anything added will be used for a week or two and forgotten unless it brings money, and at that point I believe the time would've been spent better on Legal/Crim side of the things, which are where 90% of the server plays at

  5. Why would I interview someone to determine what happened infront of an officer? How can bodycams ever be something anti roleplay if police irl are forced to wear them whether they want to or not, and since definition of roleplay is simulating real life I am struggling to understand as to where is a problem here.. On the other hand, if you meant civilians/crims having bodycams I am completely behind the idea of them not having a bodycam, so far I haven't seen a single person irl that wasn't a part of police/emergency services that had a bodycam. If civilians/non ems members wish to record something I would suggest using /record or dashcam footage to provide that instead of " bodycam "

the xp gains faster with VIP too which i hate because if you're not financially able to buy the VIP then you have to spend more time playing the game which isn't fair in my opinion. basically if you have money in real life for games and stuff like that then you get higher in the server a lot faster. If i want to get a mechanics job which need 30000XP to apply then someone who has VIP will make a lot more money a lot faster while i just play a long time to get that xp

Sure time wise, but in reality since you will spend more time playing prior to obtaining required amount of XP, your knowledge and experience of the game/server/rp itself will grow much faster than someone that has had to play less amount of time. So yeah maybe they might end up reaching the 30k goal faster, but the person that has obtained it regularly will progress faster and provide higher quality due to the experience and knowledge obtained along the way imo.

In regards to the topic itself, I agree to most things BUT I do not agree with any sort of material gains such as penthouse, car etc. It would provide too big of an incentive to purchase a VIP/Donator instead of playing the game itself. IE: Instead of dividing money on guns/ammo/clothes/fuel/vehicle/property etc, you buy donator obtain a vehicle, penthouse and on top of that perks on the side, it would take away too much from the gameplay itself as you could just funnel all the money into just a specific thing and not have to worry about half of the things you normally do in an RP environment. At the end of the day, personally I would remove any gameplay perks from donator/vip systems and only include cosmetics inside them and leave anything else to the game itself, I can get behind stuff like jail time etc. cause at the end of the day they are QoL perks but getting free stuff that someone else grinds for, nah.

Overall: +1 with removal of assets from vip/donator perks

  7. Very confusing question... With a purchased GTA V you gain access to GTA Online it is not a separate title, at least not on PC can't speak for consoles, but as far as I know RAGE is only available for PC. If you have GTA V either on Epic, Social Club or Steam you will be able to join the server

  8. rofl it was never introduced to be complex, just to simply make u check ur game every now and again instead of booting you without you being aware ur afk time passed, while ur add it why not add 5000 word essays being written every time I want to log in to make sure people aren't under influence

I really like how Redux looks and would prefer to use it, Looks like most of it is mainly for story mode; however, not sure how it would be an issue ECRP, would effect your physics a bit but not everyone else's as they would not see the same as you do. Ragdoll effects wont be an advantage in anyway that I know of. Just wondering how aiming or aim and roll would be effected. As for ai there are no NPC's on the server so shouldn't be and issues there. Based on what I am seeing using it on ECRP may only be a graphical advantage which is not a big deal because people with a better graphics card already have a graphical advantage over people with a worse card.

If a Admin would give approval to use it in this thread I would go ahead and install myself. Waiting for a staff member to speak on it first though.

Yes, I am aware that the last reply is a year old, but was looking through the posts and saw this one, when it comes to all graphical mods, there are " edits " of these mods which remove SP shit and make them completely usable on RAGE MP, from installation process to their changes of game files/installing new ones. Yes Redux is fully usable on RAGE MP and personally I have used it for quite some time untill I moved on to NVE. You just need to get yourself a RAGE MP Compatible download of Redux and it will work like a charm.

The thing with the entire update for darker nights is that not only did it ruin interiors, before the update, players would be able to choose and use graphic overhaul mods such as NVE. This would make their nights darker than those of the average player, but that was a "disadvantage" you would willingly sign up for with the installation of the mod, and it did not at all affect the experience of other players.

Now with the forced and arguably overdone darker nights, instead of allowing players to choose to have their nights be darker, it is forced upon them and with how incredibly dark it gets it feels that the general idea of accepting a disadvantage to have your game look subjectively better is gone and was instead replaced by a forced dark night which instead encourages players to bump their brightness up significantly to be able to see half properly in interiors or to lessen the strain on the eyes when driving in the county at night.

Basically, I feel that instead of allowing players to use mods that would put themselves at a disadvantage in terms of vision during the night, we have shifted to where we will now have players bumping their brightness whether that be through in-game settings or mods to be able to see better which in turn gives them an advantage.

I honestly personally wish the change was reverted in its entirety and left alone, instead of "fixed". The cons most definitely outweigh the pros with this.

Agreed entirely, I am all down for RP and immersion of darker nights, but as someone who loves using NVE/and mods in general and prefers their game to look as good as it can, while also looking and feeling realistic, this update is basically just adding a layer over my screen that makes something that was already dark, darker. In the scenarios where the sun would shine over my screen, I honestly am not able to see anything on the highways, I will post few examples of the game with NVE installed.

The biggest issue are the lights themselves, lights that are emitted from cars whether being regular or high beams, do absolutely nothing with this " darkness mod ", they basically do not work, unless we are able to get a proper mod that will make nights darker without placing a layer over the entire screen and calling it a mod.

  11. So Cops remembering names is an issue, but crims have 500 more iq and are able to remember all names? I dont get this discussion

    - edit : Forgot to add, while there is a part that I get with this topic, but at the same time, 99.9% of time, I can guess/know who someone is based on their voice, after Ive heard it long enough, but at the same time, charging people based on their voice is not allowed. So by this logic, wearing a mask would mean immunity to charges, unless arrested?

  12. I don't know about you guys, but the trees, make this game so much more beautiful, and enjoyable, its not just tons of sand wherever you look at feeling like im in Africa, but actually have some woods and forest, making not only hunting more enjoyable but in general, driving around the reworked areas making them fresh, personally I have no issues whatsoever with the FPS even with usage of graphical mods ( redux, radiance, enb ) , I can understand where people come from FPS wise, but I cannot really see the FPS hit myself, I get a bigger hit at Mission Row for example than entirety of the map covered in trees..
