  1. Player(s) being reported:ID 101, 94
    Date of interaction reported: 29/04/2024
Unix time stamp from HUD: 1714402913

    Your characters name: Jed Timpson
Other player(s) involved: John Joe, Jake Harden, Rizza Saint

    Specific rule(s) broken:
    10. Non Roleplay
    11. Power gaming

How did the player break the rule(s)?
Initially ID 94 and 101 drove their elegy through bushes and fences to scout out senora lab which i believe would come under NRP, after which they initiated and lost a fight at Senora Lab, we attempted to id 101 and 94 however they attested to having no licenses in /do saying they would PM the information via discord "after the rp was done" then they logged off once being killed and we never received any proof. ID 94 also claimed to have no keys to the elegy with the plate 0YRDCQT5 which we suspect to also be a lie given they logged off after the RP was concluded and did not give us any of the proof.

During the whole encounter it also seemed as though they were stalling but too what end we are not sure.

    Evidence of rule breach:
    NRP bushes https://youtu.be/UUoZyw10M9o?si=pVz4esF2HPc_QuE7
ID 101 being asked for his license https://medal.tv/games/gta-v/clips/2adpgDimOThGrB/d1337AdwfXYP?invite=cr-MSxMS0wsMjEzMzAyNTI1LA
ID 101 talking to me in /b about having his proof https://i.imgur.com/DosLR8U.png
id 94 was also asked which can hopefully be confirmed in the logs as we do not have POV.

  2. Having to run back for a trailer is soul destroying and plain unfun, this plus the fact you now do what 80kmph? with certain loads, if you are lucky uphill etc. Balancing it monetarily would have been fine, but as it is now its just no fun to do.

Instead the nerf of having to go back for a trailer was coupled with the nerf to speed when hauling fuel etc (not sure if you just go slow with every load now? i couldn't tolerate it long enough to check) meaning it halved in profitability (if not more) plus became a chore.

I enjoyed trucking because I was out on the map, able to strategize my drops and chill out. Instead im now running to the middle of nowhere near garbage every load to pick up a trailer that's probably gonna desync and lose me 15minutes of time, 50% of the time. Or im driving impossibly slow to the point you cant go uphills with a load on, to then c0 and lose my job and my time.

IMO it should be completely reverted and just halve the money made if the profit was a concern. As it stands with the double nerf, its definitely not a good or fun way to make money.

Making it mandatory to go back for a trailer makes the job even worse for someone like me who has frequent c0s because i can no longer go from one job to another, say from route 68 to paleto cargo then to lost MC snacks because my chance of c0ing by the time i do the same job now is much higher (as well as being much slower, less profitable and less fun)

Perhabs this idea will be hated, and i understand why... But hear me out - safe door (little one) could be robbable, player would need to acquire medical listening device ( statoscope, i believe? ) and with that, it would give circle-minigame for 100 chances or even more, but they could also be balanced - meaning, a lot of circle minigame rounds, but they are not too fast. The limiting factor would be amount of circles needed to be solved, and not the speed. That way it would be balances, newer player that do not have quick reflexes could attempt to break into it, but since there is a lot of rounds needed, it would take some time, thus increasing chance of owner or law cement forces finding it out.

i would believe the main reason they dont do this is because c0's are a thing, so they try to minimise the time you are locked into the minigame for, but drilling definitely needs changing

  4. Following a recent meeting with our handlers, we believe a system that allows a shadow corp and/or npc to be created to allow a criminal faction to be able to run a business should be introduced.

Currently the only options are maintaining a legal character in the ranks of your faction or someone having a legal alt that is involved based on rp means that acts as a front for the business.

Maintaining a legal member is an OK solution, however from our talks we all thought it would make sense for a faction to be able to setup a front so that whoever your legal person is not segregated from faction activities constantly and also your RP opportunities from running a business are not dependant on one person who could just up and leave at any given moment or be found guilty of a crime bringing the house of cards toppling down.

Our thoughts are a legal NPC could be provided as a front for the business as a faction tier reward, giving factions some incentive to push for a higher tier and giving factions more options to run businesses to feedback into the server.

Obviously a way for this to be torn down should be included if the business violated the t&cs of running a legal business

  5. The recent change that removed drug price boosting by cycling through the different drug types I believe is a bad choice, the reasons for that are:

As a faction that controls the import of the required chemicals, there is now no reason to provide these to people.
-Before the changes, if an independent gang said they wanted to earn favour and imports from us, we had opportunity / reason to 1) deal with them in the first place, 2) provide them the chemicals, 3) an opportunity to make money outside of just imports by utilising the boost cycling when they came back to us.

Now that drug influence is much higher making maintenance so easy, we turn away 75% of people bringing us product trying to earn a reputation with us so we will import for them , we no longer require anyone's help.
-Because of this, I feel a lot of RP opportunities are being lost and the real core of how gangs and turfs work is gone. The only thing that is left to decide or influence who to do business with or what rate they will get on imports is just how much you arbitrarily like them instead of how much they help your faction.

We no longer have an additional avenue to make money, meaning if things are as they are now, as a start out gang i don't see that if we get raided or started fresh we would ever be able to earn money to buy / run businesses to improve rp for our gang and the server as a whole.

We have no reason to help other people make money. With no use for drugs why would we bother supplying the chemicals? The downsides of taking the drugs far outweigh their usefulness in combat so they are still used exactly as they always were, as a currency. Unfortunately its a currency no one really needs anymore.

I understand it was likely removed to help balance however it has be a wholly negative change for everyone i have spoken to, the chemicals required to use the boost cycle are controlled and very poor economically to import in the first instance, but it provided us purpose both in and outside of the faction to make deals and set goals and adjusting it would have made alot more sense than what we are left with. If you managed to import, control and gain back those drugs you got a reward at the end of it. Maybe for some they used this to make themselves rich, however we as a faction invested our money into a business on the server for more RP opportunities.

    What we are left with:

    1. Faction controlled dealers seem to regenerate their rates very slowly, there seems to be some very very small boosting of drug price but it is negligible. Selling one type of drug seems to negatively impact the majority of drug prices of the others.

    2. Independent or unowned dealers seem to have their rates reset every server restart, leaving a meta where we just leave the faction and sell a stack of drugs for max price. This doesn't seem to negatively affect the price of any of the other drugs for that dealer, however for faction owned dealers it does.

    3. No reason to deal with any one

    4. No way for people to gain favour with us

    5. No other way to earn money, no other goal to strive for (previously we would focus on making the drugs we had the least of, or pushing independents to do this for us)

I just personally feel the mechanisms worked fine, maybe you could make too much money from it (in some peoples opinion? personally i don't believe it paid enough considering the work involved) , but people still had to make hours of deals, import 3 different types of chemicals, front alot of money, send people to the mines, encourage suppliers to create certain drugs etc, which has all been wiped away in exchange for nothing.

  6. In line with some feedback we gave our handlers, I am making this suggestion to highlight the impact of adjusting influence on drugs/cash/cars.

Before we would supply independent groups and trade favours in terms of supplying guns or drug ingredients for drugs/cash/cars, it gave groups or individuals something to aim for to help us and it gave us opportunities to interact with a wide group of people across the server at various levels within the criminal world.

With the changes to influence (meaning that influence per item is much larger than what it was, for example cocaine going from 0.1 to 0.23) we have far less (if any) requirement to deal with these independent criminals, even with more turfs than we usually have, because turf maintenance is so easy. I feel like these changes have much reduced the reason to deal with other people in general, especially smaller independent groups looking for connections. I would never turn anyone away before if they had supplies, now we don't need any of it.

This coupled with the removal of the drug boosting cycle means independent criminals or groups can no longer offer us any value in exchange for our business, it has become a matter of whether or not we can facilitate the capacity of orders they would make of guns and nothing else. Placing these orders is largely just a non rp opportunity for everyone, with the occasional comp from someone else or SD/PD every month.

When the drug boosting cycle was a thing we would be able to ask groups to make us certain types of drugs in exchange for favours, or focus on certain types of drugs in house, however all of this depth is now gone and has not been replaced with anything. I understand this was likely removed as a matter of balance but it at least provided reason to create the other types of drugs, to provide people with different ingredients for other types of drugs and to maintain relations.

Would like to hear other thoughts on this but ultimately I believe it all worked much better in terms of RP ops before these changes.

  7. agree with OP, +1 remove this shit

if i wanna chill out and do roadworking without being harrassed by police or people who want to order guns, or kill me for my affiliation, a mask was my only option

now i want to do this even more so that the economy was fucked and i cant make any money as a criminal, but i cant, because the option has been stripped.

I ask this because people make accusations, and in my experience often times they're making it up, exaggerating, or have misunderstood the situation.

If there's a problem, I want to explore the problem and think of a solution. If people refuse to talk about the problem, how can there possibly be a solution? That's the finish line for me, but to get there we need to ask these questions in order to explore the complaints. This isn't "report culture." I can't look into potential problems if I have no knowledge of what's going on.

In this case, there was more going on than just a game mechanic which prompted the response. I actively looked into it thanks to the response to my question. In the interest of avoiding metagaming I can't really get into the precise reason, but there was a reason.

If you want to be condescending, that's a real slap in the face from my perspective. Why should I bother taking people's complaints seriously if that's the response I get?

I'm sure that everything was in place to go hit this guy as soon as he effectively showed "online" and I would wager this is part of the process that investigators are now used to, why go after /attempt to trace someone who isn't online when you can tell they aren't around.. which is why I think its wrong.

You think that just because there were numerous explosions in a house under his name that explains away the obvious and blatant meta that happened, as soon as he logged on ? To me I still maintain a change is needed. The information is meta, can be handled a plethora of other ways and similar changes have been made to /pm /vpm and telephones so people cant meta whether someone is online or not, not sure why cops, on top of everything else they get, should also get this as a benefit.

Who was this? Which officer did this? Was it reported? Why not?

Well because i know that it seems to be an accepted function of the MDC that people online with Active warrants appear on the list. I was playing my criminal at the time, my friend Buster Grimes logged in and 40 minutes later he had undercovers camping his house though his phone was off the whole time

Doesn't seem reportable that they use a function which has existed a long time in the server, which is why im suggesting it is changed? I do not know what officer(s) it was.

Hi, It me, Someone who knows what it feels like to try and make these fun scenarios without admin assistance.

If Someone with ManageProperty Permissions is caught in the property, They will be the first approach rather than Admin help.

    - literally happened to me, i was sat in the car instead for 1 hour 30 mins, then when the admin left and couldnt access my vending machines i had a 15 min conversation just asking them to let me put my legal stuff back to stop wasting my time, which they eventually conceded

Sometimes, yes, raids are done when the property owner are offline, that's at the end of the day, entirely unavoidable and I don't believe will be subject to change. However, instead of being restrictive, why don't we be inclusive? Instead of saying "Hey, let's stop X and Y from doing Z" Let's start saying "Hey, Give W the ability to do Z"

    - this is exactly what ive outlined ref giving crim factions other options because raiding is fine but the current options suck is someone wants to survey me 24/7.

If you want Raids to only be conducted while the player is online.... What exactly is that changing? The fact that you can then instead get your 30 person crew together to storm a full Police Blockade comprising of the very thing you believe makes LEOs unbalanced to begin with?

    - there is only 1 crim faction with 30 members. which still pails in comparison to the PD/SD resources, the others have low 20's,  also disagree with it being online only anyway, There's nothing all you can do when they turn up with 8 armoured trucks and the buzzard because raid.

Also, Members of the Admin Team who DO decide to help out, scrutinize the RP behind the Raid.

A Paradigm shift needs to occur where it's less about Dogpiling one half of the server because Assets are lost. You're choosing to play an inherently risky character by being a criminal, Your risk should never be 0, Understanding that there may or may not be a way that you're going to lose it all, most times through your own negligence needs to start happening, and y'all need to stop building these massive nest eggs that hurt so badly when they are raided.

    - I don't think anyone cares about the nest egg being lost and i dont think has been ANYONES point in this thread, its the fact there are so few options to "play smarter" as is outlined in the thread. this is all we get told "play smarter" whilst we cannot relocate, cannot obtain new warehouses, cannot buy new housing, cannot scriptly get properties or cars not in our names. Its just a circle of eventually piss off SD/PD, get gang surpressed and watched, wait for raid because we have no options.

I've said it before and I'll say it again when similar topics are brought up, Play Smarter.

    - ???????

With this, I turn to the criminal players, I'm curious to know if the recent weapon changes made it easier for you to obtain weapons (both in terms of money spent on imports and ease of access to them) and if this has led to an increase in shoot outs and a decrease in the grind to obtain these key assets (weapons, armour, etc...). If the answer is yes, it has made it easier, then the loss from a raid shouldn't be the factor that leads to someone leaving the server. Rebuild, learn from the mistakes that got you caught and try again. However, if it hasn't improved the situation then I can understand the frustration a lot of you are expressing.

    - there has been no tangible change ive noticed with anything to do with guns, prices fell slightly but weight increased

To try and keep this suggestion somewhat on track, raids are justified ICly and there are multiple layers of checks before a warrant for a raid gets signed off. Not to say that they are 100% always correct, but those decisions are IC'ly made and if a player catches charges from a faulty warrant they can appeal it (although that's an entirely different headache with how long cases take to get heard). What needs to change is other aspects of the server imo and not raids in specific.

    - exactly what my earlier suggestions were based upon and a good suggestion. Being followed by infinite cop resources until you get spotted putting a crate in one of your 2 static locations that they know about sucks

LEOs already need solid evidence before a raid is approved.

It is always brought up that player quit the server over raids however this does not happen as much as people are making out.

Over the past few months multiple high tier criminals have been raided during a large scale operation. While people were not happy in the first few days / weeks the same people raided still continue to play.

There are multiple solutions to avoid raids and to minimise the loss if you do get raided.

you say this but the threshold currently is:

camp *insert gang hq* see gun going into house from 400 meters away -> have someone log into JB alt to approve warrant

camp *insert gang warehouse* after leaked info of a drop -> see them (in some cases not even having to see the RP line of "you deposit a crate into a warehouse") -> log into JB alt to approve warrant -> raid

i dont give a fuck if they an raid me or not, give me some fucking options so guys playing cop mains cant sit in their ivory tower talking smack acting like its hard

  13. Having been the victim of a raid or two I see a few issues with the current system, obviously I don't advocate for their removal as they have a time and a place when the justification is right.

So once a warehouse location becomes known IC, that location is essentially completely burnt. We have had many instances of being followed from a "suspected gun shipment" where we lose the cops, but they stalk out these locations gathering "intel" instead.

Once this location is burnt, raided or known as a gang affiliated asset, any time we lose the cops subsequently, they are camped.

So the next option is to have something in someone else's name, invalidating the whole turf/warehouse system, which I guess is fine, can be raided all the same but you are just invalidating the whole turf/warehouse system which seems like an issue to me, there is also no nice IC way to handle this sort of thing and people realistically leave the server all the time. This is also limited by the fact that properties are sparse and commonly brought up by those richest on the server.

Buying a warehouse and making it a faction property is hard, considering a lot of these assets are brought up, probably owned and unused, leaving not many rp sound or logical places for us to own a warehouse. Having previously asked the cartel players for assistance in obtaining different warehouses and being told a flat NO, leaves obtaining other warehouses tricky. Otherwise this seems like it would be the most reasonable way to get around it if we could sell or trade the turf controlled warehouses and there were more options for these locations. Alongside the warehouse issues my criminal experience had also recently involved the following (in my opinion):

    1. Reports denied from on scene + involved admins dismissing reports immediately with the explanation of "its IC"
    2.  Subjected to witch hunts because the cops/admins don't find what they expect to
    3.  Ruleplayed (rammed by cops off of bikes or hit to be prevented getting onto a bike / blocked off in the city whilst I'm doing 160 to stall me then held at gunpoint to abuse they can subject me to fear rp or circled for 20mins until they can find a reason to disturb /search us)
    4.  Mocked ic and ooc for submitting IA reports even though they get upheld 75% of the time
    5. Noticed shadow changes to drug tables to make them blow up more often when unwatered
    6. Had our life invader page taken down (presumably by an admin?) when it shouldn't have been
    7. Our attempts at legal endeavours wont be supported by people in legal factions due to affiliation, even if this affiliation is not direct

Me and other members of the faction have been pmed about great crim rp and constantly trying to think outside the box of "shoot them" as a faction but being focused icly + pressured to the point I don't want to login due to how oppressive the legal factions can be with all of their benefits, then add on top some of the script limitations of the server playing a contributing factor, there seems little way back from the precipice of being a known criminal, operating from known illegal locations, as part of a known criminal organisation, which is now an issue when we will be pressured constantly  (even though rply there should be more cars on the road and other stuff to do) some of these attacks have certainly seemed personal and focused and in some cases are still being discussed between CFM and LFM. Whenever I am pulled over I will always and forever be treated with criminal prejudice only forcing further escalation to the point where me and others will just lose all of our assets and leave the server. Don't get me wrong I understand that this comes with the territory but at some point this prejudice needs to reset or as the OP here suggest changes need to be made so we can at least hold out for a reasonable amount of time by being given a few more options.

My RP with cops now consists of "cant talk to you sorry this might hurt my career" which when there are 200 people around makes it an oppressive experience being on the server which I have no way back from, even when I will have compliments on the rp from those involved in the unique or light-hearted displays we try to put on as a faction (though don't get me wrong I personally have also been unpleasant my fair share too). This is where I agree with the OP that the criminal experience is lacking and a overall negative experience, certainly with many members of the faction I am a part of getting to breaking point.

We are very much in a damned if we do (shoot cops, provide this type of rp, investigations raids etc) and damned if we don't position (do nothing but the bare minimum to survive as a criminal faction, which currently consists of being treated like we are shooting at cops anyway and being icly toxic, which is driving players away because that is not what we are doing) which is exacerbated because of the script / server economy limitations.

So only option is to use a rented car (from a player because the scrapyard vehicles flag up fishy) , go to a rented property in different clothes when doing anything, which realistically someone from a cop faction can just sit and watch me do 24/7 at some point anyway, from 400meters away with a sniper scope. This is how it has been for many years and every avenue available to a criminal is well known and hashed out by the legal factions. This to me is the worst part of it all because it is very hard to innovate when nothing new has been added.

    TLDR
A good change for me would be "scrapyard" type apartments where you can rent them for a week/month for 50k or something, you turn up at tinsel or any of the apartment complexes and rent a room in cash for stashing, then this is not affected by how difficult it is to get a house on the server and you have an (albeit expensive) option to hide something not in your name. This is then not at least tied to you and wouldn't be a part of a raid where all your registered properties are attacked. Perhaps make the space limited so you cant wedge 50 guns in there, but at least distribute some assets.
Fix scrapyard cars to 1) not be the worst cars on the server and 2) not flag as "unregistered" or whatever they currently do, immediately arousing suspicion.
Add some more criminal only warehouses but limit the amount of warehouses a faction can have, they would still be subject to the same rules ie make rp sence to own etc, but allow some freedom for gangs to make more sensible choices, which seems to be every cop main opinion in this thread.
Some element of these locations being treated like labs, areas of "high criminal activity" but once raided the IC knowledge of affiliation becomes void, given the limited options we have as criminals. Maybe a combination so if a warehouse is unused by a faction for 3 months it loses its "known affiliation"

As someone part of a faction that does its best to teach , supply and nurture new criminals whilst providing unique and funny RP opportunities for everyone else, it is saddening to see the opinion that there are no issues with the current system(s) and I hope that outlining some of my experience can bring some light to those that don't spend the same time and effort as I and others in my faction do to create roleplay even when its becoming increasingly hard to do so.

  14. Having spent some time within the legal factions, I believe it would be sensible to change it so the "warrant" section of the MDC so that it does not display only online players.

Both police factions have paperwork sections for warrant reports, it seems easy to accidentally meta / trace those with active warrants considering you know they are online, combined with the fact that when tracing a mobile phone you get feedback as to whether or not the person is online aswell.

I have personally seen someone who has not been around for months, login and have their home stalked within an hour of their return whilst their phone was off the whole time, changing the above should add some difficulty and depth to those investigating wanted fugitives.

  15. It is my understanding that the message when someone's phone is attempted to be traced, the message is different based if they are offline as opposed to having their phone off.

In the same way /vpm used to be abusable to find out someone's name, or if they are online, can the messages for tracing a phone be made the same so that is it not abusable.

This would follow the change that people used to be able to call to see if you were online or not, which was amended to ring no matter what.

  16. Hello and thank you for your kind consideration of my suggestion, my logic was that the items sit around using up resources when a relatively simple solution could be added to induce cleanup for both 1) just something else to do and 2) reduce some wasted items that just sit around. It could obviously be expanded to litter outside of DOC perhaps, coffee cups etc ..
