Popular Post Paulius
Are you looking for specific guidance in regards to for example roleplay commands such as /me and /do? Click the link below! 1. Account Ownership and Responsibility All players are expected to ensure that their account, IP address, Social Club, and hardware are not used to break the server rules. In cases where an Internet network or hardware is shared between multiple players (ex.: family members, friends), and one player breaks the server rules, it can cause the entire shared network and hardware to be banned until the banned player successfully appeals their punishment. Game accounts for Eclipse Roleplay cannot have their ownership transferred through either trade or gifting. Players may not share their accounts with others under any circumstances. Players are responsible for what occurs on their accounts. Punishment: Anything from a warning to a permanent ban depending on the context and severity of the situation. For linked accounts, if it can be proven that two or more individuals are different, unban is possible if the initial ban did not occur automatically. 2. Donations and Refunds Donations & Refunds Eclipse Roleplay does not refund donations. Items gained via credits are non-refundable or non-transferable unless the script permits such refund or transfer to occur. For example, players have 24 hours to refund a vehicle for credits through the F6 menu in-game, which will also refund game money for any potential modifications done to the vehicle. Because of our no-refund policy, players may not attempt to chargeback donations. Punishment: Chargebacks will result in a permanent ban and removal of any assets linked to the donation(s). 3. Character Creation and Property Character Names Character names must be realistic, must not resemble real-world names or famous people. For example, James_Smith would be an acceptable name, and Brad_Pitt would not. This also applies to troll names, such as Ben_Dover. Adding random characters to an existing name in order for you to use a similar name is not acceptable, for example, if James_Smith exists, you should not create James_Smiith. Punishment: Anything from a verbal warning to an indefinite ban depending on the number of occurrences, the willingness to understand from the player, and the context of the situation. The player will also be given a name change for free by the handling staff member. Scamming & Deception Players are allowed to scam and deceive each other In-Character as there are In-Character consequences that can be explored through Law Enforcement. In the event that a player is caught by Law Enforcement, they may have debt imposed on them by the San Andreas State Government and/or have assets removed. Players are not allowed to scam or deceive players Out-of-Character for their assets. For example, a player cannot deceive a player in an Out-of-Character chat by claiming that they are not going to scam them, or by telling them to test a command to knowingly steal assets from them. Players should however not try to reaffirm Out-of-Character that a player won't scam them, as this would be an insinuation of metagaming. Punishment: Anything from a verbal warning to an indefinite ban and removal of the involved assets, depending on the context of the situation, the severity of it, and the willingness of the player to understand the issue. Transfer of Assets Between Own Characters Players are not allowed to transfer any assets of any value between their own characters without an approved transfer request. Information about transfer requests can be found here: https://forum.eclipse-rp.net/forum/70-refund-and-transfer-requests/ Players should also not assist with transferring assets without making sure that the player they are helping has a transfer request approved. They can get such confirmation by asking a staff member or by asking the player for a screenshot. Punishment: Anything from a verbal warning to an indefinite ban and removal of account assets, depending on the context of the situation, the severity of it, and the willingness of the player to understand the issue. Transfer of Assets to Other Players Players are not allowed to transfer assets to other players without proper In-Character motive, whether the transfer is a trade or loan. This means that you for example cannot gift all of your account assets away because you're taking a break and/or leaving the community. Players are not allowed to gift away the majority of their assets. This does not include such as event raffles, event giveaways, or giveaways in general, as these situations will not involve the majority of one's assets. Punishment: Anything from a verbal warning to an indefinite ban and removal of account assets, depending on the context of the situation, the severity of it, and the willingness of the player to understand the issue. Real World Trading Players are under no circumstances allowed to attempt or otherwise insinuate the trade of game assets for assets outside of the server, such as real-life money, games, game skins, and more. This includes Eclipse Roleplay store credits; players cannot gift players credit and receive game assets in return for those credits. Punishment: Indefinite Ban + Full Account Assets Wipe upon successful ban appeal. 4. Hacking and Exploits Hacking/Cheating Players are not allowed to have and/or use mods, trainers, or any kind of software that gives them an advantage, also known as 3rd party modifications. For example, players should not use aim cheats or visual cheats, Punishment: Indefinite to Permanent Ban. Modifying Game Files to Gain Unfair Advantages Players are not allowed to modify their game files to gain unfair advantages over other players. Such as (but not limited to): removing graphical aspects of the game which you otherwise can't remove through the game settings, which allows you to e.g. see players better. You can't for example remove vegetation/other objects outside of what the in-game settings allow, or remove shadows completely. In other terms, we do not allow PVP graphic settings, it is an RP server. GTA 5 has a vast selection of graphic settings for players to optimize their game to ensure a smooth gameplay experience. Visual Enhancement Mods such as QuantV and NVE are not disallowed if you want to increase your graphics beyond what the game allows, as this does not provide any unfair advantages. modifying handling files of cars to make them handle different than intended, whether it's speed, acceleration, turning, etc. replacing e.g. vehicles and weapons with mods that directly give you an unfair advantage, e.g. enlarged weapons, vehicles, etc. replacing gun sound mods with more distinct sounds that could grant circumstantial advantages e.g. reaction time, being able to hear clearer over certain weather conditions, etc. Punishment: Anything from a verbal warning, to an indefinite/permanent ban depending on the severity of the modifications, and the context of it. Exploiting Players may not abuse server bugs or unintended server mechanics to their own advantage, it should be reported as a Server Bug in the Bug Reports section: https://forum.eclipse-rp.net/forum/5-bug-reports/. For more sensitive server bugs, such as potential money exploits, players may want to report the bug to a staff member directly at their own discretion. Example of unintended mechanics/bugs: Robbing ATMs through walls. Glitching through objects using animations. Glitching out of the world. Etc. Punishment: Anything from a warning to a permanent ban depending on the severity and context of the situation, as well as the number of occurrences. Exploits involving assets will also result in said assets being removed from the account(s) involved. Macroing Players may not exploit server scripts in any way, such as circumventing our AFK timer through the use of macros and/or other conventional methods such as applying a rubber band to a controller. In general, players may not automate actions through the use of a macro unless it's specifically approved by staff, examples of approved use of macros: Text Macros for Roleplay that do not affect others. Note Drawing script. Punishment: Anything from a warning to a permanent ban depending on the severity and context of the situation, as well as the number of occurrences. Macroing involving assets will also result in said assets being removed from the account(s) involved. 5. Disrupting Server Operations and Knowledge of Rule Breaches Disrupting Server Operations Disrupting Server Operations is a broad term used for several rules that affect the general operation of the community, its staff, and players. Players are expected to always strive to be positive community members who remain respectful to everyone at all times. With positivity, we mean that players should strive to adhere to rules, strive to become better roleplayers, strive to help others, and not maliciously go out of their way to ruin somebody's experience in the community, whether it's a staff member or player. Eclipse Roleplay does not condone any form of Out of Character intimidation to keep players from playing on our server through e.g., OOC harassment or through other means with the focus of making one's experience poor. Players are not allowed to: Directly or knowingly involve themselves in situations where doxxing (leak of personal information) or harassment is occurring of community members/staff. Directly or knowingly involve themselves in situations where cyber threats such as DDoS of ECRP Platforms and/or community members/staff and account thefts are occurring Directly or knowingly involve themselves in situations where cheats or malicious media content is being distributed. Directly or knowingly involve themselves in situations where severe rule breaks such as Mass Deathmatching, Mass Metagaming, Cheating, etc, are occurring. Failure to Report Rule breaks Players are expected to report severe rule breaks that they witness and/or have information of, failing to do so may make them complicit in the rule breaks. Eclipse Roleplay is not out to ruin friendships; however, players have a choice on what they involve themselves in and a choice of what information they withhold, but that choice may also have consequences. Players are expected to report severe rule breaks such as: Cheating Ban Evading Mass Metagaming/DM Harassment of Community Members/Staff Cyber-threats/attacks And other malicious and intentional rule breaks that are normally planned in e.g., private chats. Both Disrupting Server Operations and Failure to Report Rule Breaks involve a lot of common sense, if a player deems a situation to be bad, it'd be in their best interest to potentially involve staff than ignore it. Having e.g., knowledge of a potential staff security issue should be reported and not ignored. Punishment: Anything from a verbal warning to a permanent ban. These situations are not black and white and there is often a lengthy staff investigation into them. The severity of the punishment will primarily revolve around the context and severity of the situation, the occurrences, and other factors will be taken into account such as the individual's standing in the community and so forth. Circumventing Bans (Ban Evading) Bans from community areas such as discord, game, and forums, should not be circumvented in any way. Players are expected to submit ban appeals if they have an active ban that they wish to appeal. Punishment: Indefinite or Permanent Ban depending on the context and severity of the situation, number of occurrences, the player's willingness to cooperate, and the player's standing in the community prior. Server Advertising Players are not allowed to advertise other roleplay communities/servers on any of Eclipse Roleplay's platforms, this also includes discussing them as that could be considered indirectly advertising. Punishment: Indefinite or Permanent Ban depending on the context and severity of the situation, and the number of occurrences. These situations will be investigated by staff and players who are deemed to have no malicious intent or intent to directly advertise will simply be spoken to initially. 6. Ruleplaying Ruleplaying is a term used when players are using, manipulating, or interpreting rules or rulings falsely or outside of their intention, in an unrealistic or unintended way that does not constitute quality or realistic RP standards. Some examples of ruleplaying: In a criminal chase, driving at slow speeds knowing that your pursuers are unable to attack you because they can't deliver demands. Walking into a hostile situation with your hands up, knowing your backup is hiding, in order to bait deathmatching rights. Taunting e.g., an enemy at a public place (e.g. fishing pier) knowing that they can't retaliate at said public location, effectively showing no fear for your safety. Each situation will be reviewed and dealt with as case by case basis by staff, the examples above are not precise and there could be realistic context to someone's actions. Punishment: Anything from an admin jail to an indefinite ban. 7. IC and OOC Interactions Offensive Language, Sexual, Torture, or Disgusting Roleplay Players are only allowed to engage in sexual, torture, or disgusting roleplay if all players involved including witnesses give prior OOC consent. Such roleplay should therefore not be held in public areas or areas where players commonly visit, e.g., prison/jail. Usage of ethnic and/or LGBT+ related slurs is considered disgusting roleplay and all parties involved must give prior OOC consent before it can be done. In addition, it must make roleplay sense for your character to want to use any racial slurs In Character. Racism Out-of-Character is strictly forbidden. Players using offensive language excessively In-Character through text or VOIP must stop if a player asks for it Out-of-Character. Players are not permitted to use offensive language Out-of-Character to others. Punishment: Anything from a warning to a permanent ban, depending on the context, severity, and occurrences. Communication & Foreign Languages Players must be able to communicate in English and In-Character chat (such as VOIP or text) must be English only. We do not forbid players from using words/slang of different languages to define their characters. Players that wish to roleplay speaking a foreign language in In-Character text chat can do so by using "[Language] Text Chat", e.g., "[Spanish] Rob him." In-Character Content must not contain acronyms like "lol" or "u" or smiley faces excluding through In-Character phone messages. Text chat, VOIP, radio, phone, and commands like /me or /do are for In-Character content only. Mixing Out-of-Character content into these areas is considered metagaming. Players are expected to use VOIP respectfully. Spamming VOIP excessively without roleplay sense to cause distress is not acceptable. For Out-of-Character content in In-Character chats e.g., links in Weazel Ads, the OOC content must be encased in brackets, (( As an example, this would be OOC content. )) Players are expected to use our Out-of-Character chat commands when communicating Out-of-Character with players or staff. OOC Chat commands are: /ooc, /o, /b, /pm, /vpm, and /f. Punishment: Anything from a warning, admin jail, and an indefinite ban, punished under Metagaming. Using Out-of-Character Footage In-Character Players may use out-of-character videos or screenshots in roleplay if the footage depicts the character using the /record command or has roleplayed a camera. Players are expected to have proof of RP with timestamp (/time) if they are roleplaying a non-visible camera object such as a body cam. Such RP is only valid for 48 hours, or until your character gets killed, until it breaks through RP, or until the player loses IC access to the device realistically e.g., being jailed/prisoned. If you are put in jail/prison, it does not invalidate any previously recorded footage, you just need to re-do the RP for further footage to be valid In Character. Roleplaying footage from a CCTV or other forms of cameras can only be done if the location has either a furniture CCTV/camera object, or if the location has a camera object by default in GTA 5. If there are no out-of-character videos or screenshots to support the roleplay of what a player would see as they review footage, it can be roleplayed in /do but all parties involved must agree to the description given. If no agreement can be met, the footage should be considered corrupted in-character. Punishment: Anything from a warning, admin jail, to an indefinite ban, punished under Powergaming. Respecting Staff Rulings Please be respectful of our staff members, even in cases where you disagree with their decisions. Our staff members are volunteers who wish to help players such as yourself, but in order to enforce the server rules, they may also issue punishments or make decisions that may not favor you. They are humans and, admittedly, can make mistakes that could make you feel mistreated and spark a conflict, however, even when you are upset, please refrain from further escalation and we expect the same from our staff. As mistakes do happen, all players are welcome to submit punishment appeals and report cases of abuse on our forums where your concerns will be reviewed by a different staff member, and any potential mistakes will be corrected. Punishment: Anything from a warning, admin jail, to an indefinite ban. 8. Metagaming (MG) Metagaming is the act of relaying In-Character (IC) information through any method not considered IC which has the potential to change the current or future roleplay scenarios, or for the potential for the information to be used. It's also considered metagaming to mix IC and Out-of-Character (OOC) information. Examples of MG: Calling players out by the ID above their head. Communicating In-Character events, actions, and decisions, with another player on a 3rd party software e.g. discord. For example: "Let's rob this player", "I'm being robbed at City Parking, help me". Players may sit in voice chat and communicate with one another whilst playing the game, however, they need to be careful of unintentional/passive metagaming as that can be acted on either unintentionally or intentionally. For example, telling your friend "Hold on, I'm being robbed right now" could cause them to act on that and start looking for you In-Character. Players may not have any interaction or knowledge from their alternate characters. They should not refer to their alternate characters as their "cousin", "sibling" etc. In general, players should avoid speaking of their characters unless they are inserted into roleplay where someone is. Players should not intentionally base their actions and/or words based on how another player sounds, as their voice may not reflect their character. For example, a male character with a female voice does not automatically mean they are a trans man or vice versa. Punishment: Anything from a warning, admin jail, to an indefinite ban. 9. Non-Roleplay (Non-RP) Non-Roleplay Non-Roleplay behavior is considered as actions that are unrealistic or promote poor quality roleplay. It's difficult to interpret or understand what good roleplay can be sometimes, and we aim to steer players in the direction we want them to go through our server rules. Players are welcome to speak to staff for guidance in regard to roleplay. Some examples (not exhaustive) of Non-RP: Ignoring Roleplay such as Doing wheelies on motorcycles in chases or in other situations where the speed grants an advantage over others. (The speed boost from doing wheelies in GTA 5 is unrealistic thus it's not allowed in situations where the speed is an advantage over others). Leaning forward is fine. Baiting Government Services without proper IC motive. (For example, bank robbers have IC motive to bait police if they want to get their attention away from the bank they are wanting to rob). Not roleplaying the effects of being tazed more than once unless there are RP factors involved. Asking to be killed or forcing your own death. (Players are not allowed to force their death, they only die when they bleed out by the script). Unrealistic Stunt Jumping Misusing Expensive Vehicles Using Script Work Vehicles for other purposes than the intended job. Submerging any vehicle in water intentionally. Swimming for an unrealistic amount of time in a chase. Always have a goal when you swim in a chase, don't just swim out to the ocean. Stealing from / tampering with an OOC F4 Menu. Using a vehicle to block one-way entry/exits of e.g., banks and stores. Government-funded faction members must go off duty when not performing faction duties IC. Putting on and/or replenishing armor when your character is in immediate danger (e.g. being shot at). Breaching the building rules intentionally. Climbing steep hills and/or mountains in non-appropriate vehicles, mechanics and LSEMS vehicles are exempt. Appropriate vehicles are for example; Kamacho, Contender, Caracara, Scout, Brawler, BF-400,, Non-Appropriate Vehicles are for example; Novak, Rebla, Shinobi, Hakuchou, Warrener, Exemplar, Elegy, Drafter. Quote Examples of Steep Hills/Mountains: In roleplay scenarios, players are required to remain In-Character all times. Roleplay can only be paused or voided by admin staff. This means that if for example, a player feels that another player has broken a server rule, they should not stop roleplaying and argue in an OOC chat, instead, they should submit a report, document the situation, and continue to roleplay. Punishment: Anything from a warning, an admin jail, to an indefinite ban. Disconnecting/Crashing from Active Roleplay Scenarios - Combat Logging When a game crash/disconnect occurs, players must make an effort to contact the involved players or staff. Most commonly, this is done on Eclipse RP's official discord server, in the #crash-reports channel. If players do not have access to discord, they should try to contact the staff through the forums, or the players involved if they know them. Players who crash from a police situation such as a chase will be charged and put in prison by admin staff. When a player returns from a game crash/disconnect, all players involved must be given the same opportunities they held prior. Players should not instigate situations they do not have time to play through. If a player is chased, they must wait 15 minutes before they can log out of the game. This does not apply if the player chasing is aware of the location of the chased player, thus it may be in the best interest of the player to submit an in-game report to get staff confirmation on whether they can log out or not. Punishment: Anything from an admin jail to an indefinite ban. 10. Powergaming (PG) Powergaming is defined as inserting unrealistic actions into a character's actions that would otherwise not be possible in real life, providing non-factual statements in /do, or not allowing other players a chance to roleplay responses and their own actions to your roleplay. Some examples of powergaming: If you want to break a person's leg, you should not go up to the player and type /me breaks Player_Name's leg, and then expect them to roleplay a broken leg, that is forced roleplay and stops them from reacting to it. Roleplaying superhuman strength or abilities, by performing unrealistic actions such as breaking cuffs with raw strength. Roleplaying camera footage from a camera that does not exist either as an object or through roleplay. Players should also not type several character actions into a single /me when it's aimed at another player, as that stops the player from roleplaying a proper response. For example, you should not roleplay instantaneously withdrawing an object and then using the object to hold the player hostage, as their chances of reacting to the initial withdrawal are eliminated. Players may use forceful commands such as /frisk, /cuff, /drag, /cpr, /stabilize after RP, or if the party is unresponsive for 30 seconds. Punishment: Anything from a warning, an admin jail, to an indefinite ban. 11. New Life Rule (NLR) Upon a player's death, all parties involved in the death should forget the memory of all information and any negative interactions and events leading up to the death. Information prior to the death should be completely forgotten and is no longer a valid justification for any future hostile action against those involved. Players can't return to the area of death until the prior RP is finished, and 30 minutes Out-of-Character has passed. Government faction members may return to their HQ and resume unrelated faction duties. Punishment: Anything from an admin jail to an indefinite ban. Punished under Non-Roleplay. 12. No Crime Zones (NCZ) No Crime Zones (NCZs) are indicated by the HUD (bottom left) or through the /NCZ chat command. These are areas that are considered populated, extremely public, and areas that would have ample security measures such as cameras, staff, and so forth. In these areas, players may not commit any crime, but are allowed to flee, lie, or scam In-Character. If a player uses the NCZ for protection the attacker must wait for that player to leave the area. However, players may not go to a NCZ within 15 minutes after engaging in criminal activity or a resulting chase, unless they are turning themselves in to law enforcement. NCZs should not be used to safekeep illegal items and staff will occasionally check vehicles inside of NCZs and confiscate any illegal items from vehicles. No Crime Zones are listed below. Only the interiors of each zone are considered. Tequila La La & Yellow Jack Inn Los Santos Bank Paleto Bay Bank Punishment: Anything from an admin jail to an indefinite ban. Punished under Non-Roleplay. 13. Fear Roleplay (FRP) Fear Roleplay is the concept of showing appropriate care and concern to preserve your character's safety and life. We aim for balanced gameplay through this rule, and it may not be representative of real life at times. Players whose life is in direct danger must RP adequate fear and comply with demands given to them. Direct danger could mean, for example, a gun aimed at your head or at you from close vicinity, by any player. If an attacker lowers their weapon to type, victims who were under fear RP remain as so. A player is not showing proper fear if they run while on foot/bike or in an unpowered vehicle and a weapon is aimed at them at close range, or if they drive into an active shootout more than once without the intent of providing cover or fleeing with it. A player has the option to react if they are in a powered vehicle, if they already have a weapon drawn facing their attacker, or if their attacker's view is obstructed by an object. Punishment: Anything from an admin jail to an indefinite ban. Punished under Non-Roleplay. 14. Deathmatching (DM) Deathmatching is the act of attacking a player without proper IC motive and interaction. Prior interaction should include escalation such as a robbery or a report to the police. Players on foot should only be attempted to be hit by a vehicle once with a valid motive. Vehicles cannot be used as weapons in active shootouts unless where unavoidable. Players must be able to explain their reason and provide proof of prior reasoning if requested. If a player informs you that your VOIP isn't working, you must either fix your VOIP using appropriate commands (/vr 1) or use text to deliver your demands and RP. Punishment: Anything from an admin jail to an indefinite ban. 15. Player Theft, Prison Breakout, and Kidnapping Player Theft Robberies should be conducted in a realistic manner with a reasonable in-character motive. Location, time of day, and realistic population should all be considered prior to a robbery. Players should not conduct minor robberies in situations with high risk. Players should consider the risk vs reward of the robbery and utilize secluded areas where necessary to avoid witnesses. One cannot force victims to withdraw money, sell script assets, or give assets not present IC. One cannot steal from players with a NEW PLAYER tag above their head unless they have deliberately taken part in an active crime scene in which protection is temporarily lost. Players may not steal from their faction treasury as the F4 menu is OOC. Prison Breakout Prison break-in and break-out requests must be approved by a Senior Moderator+ prior to the RP being initiated. Players may also not participate in more than 1 prison break attempt within 1 OOC week. For more detailed prison rules, read our Prison Rules. Kidnapping & Hostage Roleplay Players are allowed to kidnap or take other players hostage within the context of reasonable escalation. Your escalation and reason behind the kidnapping should be able to be easily documented and explained if required by server staff. If your intention is to harm another player (e.g., injuring or killing them), then you need to refer to our DM rules. The situation can of course naturally develop into one where the player gets harmed. You are for example not allowed to kidnap random players off the streets to use them for other roleplay such as bank or store robberies, this must happen naturally at the locations you intend to perform a robbery on. If you attempt to commit robbery of a property, you are allowed to hold the players within that property until you have finished the robbery. An NPC is not a valid hostage. "Within that property" means either directly inside of the property, or in the immediate surrounding (e.g. by the doors) where you'd realistically be able to just push them in, not a street across. All included players may not take another hostage for 1 OOC week if police are involved. Punishment: Anything from an admin jail to an indefinite ban. Punished under Non-Roleplay. Indefinite Bans: Bans that are issued in-game without a time are considered indefinite unless otherwise specified. Such bans are indefinite until appealed in the decision appeals section: https://forum.eclipse-rp.net/forum/3-decision-appeals/. Punishment Expiration: Punishments of non-severe nature (e.g., roleplay punishments such as PG, MG, DM) are considered old after 1 year and will not by default be taken into consideration when a potential punishment is issued. This does not apply to more serious punishments such as cheating, bug abusing, ban evading, server advertising, real-world trading, harassment, chargebacks, OOC Racism/Homophobia Deviation: Staff reserves the right to deviate from established guidelines for more severe situations. 84 2 2 3 5 7 1 2 3 4
