Background: Thomas Franklin Vercatta was born on December, 9th, 1982 where he grew up in Miami, Florida. Tommy's father Frank Vercatta was a big player in the early crime wave of the early 1980s and was involved with numerous criminal activities from Drugs, Extortion, Fraud, and racketeering leading to a lavish lifestyle of all 3 family members with a mansion right on the Miami Beach. Tommy's parents clashed often and due to frank's line of profession leading to arguments happening constantly and some turning violent from time to time. Frank's line of work bled into his life at home having vases filled with kilos of cocaine, fake bottoms on cabinets housing .38, and 9mm handguns and bands of 100 dollar bills hid in the toy bins in Tommy's Room. Frank was a caring father and tried to shelter Tommy from his line of the profession he tried all he could to be the best father around but teaching Tommy lessons he would later need along his lifetime, leading Tommy to idolize his father. Everything went fine in Tommy's upbringing until a Federal Raid on their household, convicting Frank Vercatta to life in federal prison and all of the extravagant perks of life went away with his conviction. Tommy and his mother who turned to alcohol and pills were relocated by the state to a studio apartment in the slums of Florida but that didn't stop Tommy. He took the advice his father gave him and began to earn on the streets, along with completing his high school education. Tommy earned wherever he could from being a courier for local Mafia Families, peddling drugs for the numerous kingpins in the state, and even occasionally sending a message. Through Tommy's new lifestyle his mother resented him but she was too far down the bottle and sleeping off a night of pills to care until her eventual overdose at 9:26 AM 4/13/2000. With no more family left and completing highschool Tommy furthered his economic interests from peddling drugs to robbing ATMs and sticking up jewelry stores and getting nightclubs to pay or "insurance" on behalf of some big players on the scene that still loomed around. For a few years, Tommy seemed to be having everything going towards him, earning where he could, keeping his head low only to be caught red-handed trying to sell some imported fur coats to a local "entrepreneur" and was charged with extortion and would be facing 15 years in federal prison. The certain prison Tommy got incarcerated in was one of the worst in the country called Idaho Correctional Center, Tommy's time in prison wasn't too insurmountable, only having some fights and exercising and being assaulted by the guards. But Tommy did learn a lot on drugs, robbery, cars, and guns and by the time Tommy left he was ready to refine his skills and use them to his advantage on his escapades and moved around on failed business partners until he decided to go to Los Santos with nothing but the clothes on his back.
