Valen Bell Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 (edited) So the shiny new E-IDs are a thing and a crack team of Government Ninja's have stolen recovered every citizen's old physical ID, I find it quite odd how we can ONLY have our id in fragile devices that can be damaged or lost quite easily and require an investment into a digital device some people may not want to ever use for any reason, legal or not. Gov also have no schemes as far as I know right now to help people who are victims of phone theft, damage or destruction. Something that would make sense and could piggyback of the new ID system is bringing back physical IDs that take up inventory slots when not carried on your person via a new clothing slot next to all the current ones. It could, with a little rewording and adjustments, work of the same E-ID system and be dependent on it. What do I mean exactly? I'm glad you didn't ask. Roleplay! TLDR for the below: Add physical ID's piggybacking off the new E-ID system as a source for their creation GOV handles ID creation/modifications on the legal side Certain groups whose lore fits can create/modify/manufacture illegal IDs (or stolen legal IDs if you wanted copies /copies with modifications to them) Right-click physical ID/Badge to show it to those within close range. Boring, semi-coherent Yap-yap section: NPCs should be a fallback system in my opinion; they shouldn't really ever be the focus of interactions. While it is difficult to add in new ways to encourage interactions on older systems without major reworks, like drugs and car parts (there is no use in parts except to sell to your dealers, Bennys and Bayview don't buy them, though they should and it should create a new flow there of goods sourced from illegal chopping and legal disassembly, but again, full rework there.). That shouldn't be the case for newer stuff; instead, it would be better to look at how something new, like the E-ID system, could be made to increase interactions between legals & illegals. Physical ID's could be created based on sourced E-IDs, through legal or illegal means. Certain gangs whos lore fit the purpose, could become suppliers of illegal IDs, giving out false/modified ID data on memory sticks for example that can then be taken to another group that have the lore and thus means to import the required resources like paper and plastic to manufacture the physical ID based on that data provided. It could also mean that in either part of that flow, three groups have the potential to fuck over another in that chain in some way, keeping that ID data and using it to create more for use in illegal street racing for example, swapping the photo out for another but keeping the rest of the legitimate data that would be on that ID. The person getting the fake/modified ID could be undercover or an informant collecting information for LEOs. The people creating the data for the ID could purposefully mess up something in the creation or again, use it elsewhere if, say a fully legal ID was used, I.E. stolen from someone. If ID scanners were introduced to access buildings instead of magical ass-crack keychain permissions, you could instead have, lets say, any Government buildings like the Courthouse or Police stations be accessed through ID/Badges. Instead of everyone who has access to those doors being required to be a part of those factions, access could be supplied based on having that ID/badge with appropriate access (tying certain door access to f4 faction's membergroup levels for example), thus IDs could be stolen and used as a base for false IDs with slight adjustments, like the photo could be a new form for certain groups who like espionage (Like Shadows or Souls before they disbanded). But that is another topic, just an idea on what could be done. Gov would also become a main part of this as they would handle giving out full, legal IDs, both E-ID and physical copies. Being able to handle the creation and modification of data like that should fall to them, in game, not just a forum form, either, as that is not exactly interesting to most people playing Google doc simulator. This would also mean, you could give actual badge items to LEOs, though for gameplay reasons, like Vince said on the topic linked below, that they should be locked to the LEO unless they take it off themselves. This also means supervisors could do badge checks, for example, for on-duty LEOs or GOV officials (This also leads into the building access scanners, potentially if that is ever done). This idea is partly based on the topic made by Kempi and a comment made by DoubleA, but expanded upon with the intention of expanding the new system in a more useful manner that feels less cumbersome. Anyway, hope that made sense, if it didn't, lemme know and I can try and clarify it something better. I'm not quite sure why you are still reading this shitty post, though, just +1 or ignore it already, bozo : ) < 3 Edited April 29 by Valen Bell 1 Quote
