Sibyrd Posted May 13, 2024 Report Posted May 13, 2024 An ability to either remove or cover license plates would be nice, obviously a citation if caught. Would just add some realism to things like robberies where you don't want cameras to pick up your plate.
Ash Posted May 13, 2024 Report Posted May 13, 2024 (edited) Could work pretty well An action timer and 30-60 seconds to remove it similar to chopping but just with a screwdriver in inventory It drops in your inventory as an item called “plates XXXXXXXX” and can either be put back on yourself or by a mechanic maybe for more rp for them Possible issues are probably on the technical level depending on how reliant the MDC and vehicle scripts are on license plates. Also possible hindrance for law enforcement RP, so maybe taking plates off and putting them back on yourself would have evidence of tampering that law enforcement could investigate should they find the car later but with plates back on. Theres also things like speed cameras and mini MDC that would need behaviour changed based on not having plates, or having the wrong swapped plates on a car (since currently they’re tied to the driver and even a bmx without plates can trigger the speed camera). Then there’s the issue of how would they handle vehicles that don’t have a plate model but would realistically have plates such as a lot of motorcycles. Overall, could be neat but there’s a bunch of questions that would need answering to make it viable imo, and using a scrap or stolen car with the current system could get you to the same endpoint of making it less easy to track anyway Edited May 13, 2024 by Ash

Yeah that’s the kind of thing I meant with the bit about inspecting for tampering, a way to identify through rp and investigation if they do find it to have some sort of breadcrumbs to pursue more rp from. But if it gets away then fair play so I agree!
