    BUTCH

BUTCH update: met another faction, causing delays? The day started great: Mike decided to start early and get his favorite car through the carwash. Weazel Entertainment News Network (WENN) is hosting a multiple-day egghunt activity; there are "MinecraftMarco" hidden in the city, you have to find them and post a picture on Life Invader. There was one hidden right next to the carwash! Mike quickly made the social media post, as he is eager to create a bond with WENN. This would certainly turn out to be a great day.., right? He drove home to the Diamond Casino and was about to park his vehicle, when he noticed a guy acting all suspicious. He was in black clothes with a mask and a large hat, browsing the parked cars. Since Mike has several cars parked there as well, he lingered a bit and noticed the guy entering one vehicle. The alarm immediately set off! At that point, Mike quickly started recorded the crime with his phone. Unfortunately the guy noticed and started harassing Mike, who -although armed- decided to get in one of his cars and drive off. While he did, he quickly dialed 911... but the guy must have noticed as he jumped in front of his car with guns pointed directly at Mikes face! Out of nowhere a buddy of him did the same and they both demanded Mike to step out of the vehicle and drop his gun. While committing this terrible crime, they made sure to describe Mike and his car (which unfortunately is a chrome convertible that has "MIKE" as custom license plate, so his name was not hard to guess)... Seconds later, police arrived and started chasing the criminals in their vehicles. Mike went inside to grab his licensed backup weapon, driving off to City Hall to report the missing firearm. And that should have been the (nasty) adventure of the day, but unfortunately it was not! A few hours later, Mike again arrived home. He parked his car and again noticed some suspicious behavior as there was a whole masked group in the parking. However they seemed to be just chatting and even dancing, so he ignored them and went inside. That might have been a big mistake, as he had learned from the police officers that it was actually the criminal organisation "High Rollers" that robbed him of his gun that morning. However Mike is a person of habits and one of those is chatting with the receptionists at the Diamond Casino after parking his vehicle. They are nice people (and handle his mail, online deliveries, etc). He was doing just that when a masked individual entered the reception area as well, blocking the elevator to Mikes apartment. After observing the conversation for just seconds, the guy started talking to Mike. He quickly revealed that it was the guy who robbed him just hours before in that same location! Mike quickly pulled out his backup firearm and made a citizens arrest, forcing the guy to stand next to the elevator with his hands up. The receptionist quickly called 911 on Mikes request, asking the police to come over a.s.a.p. Unfortunately, the criminal was of course still able to communicate with his gang and manage to tell them over his radio what was going on. Before the police even responded to the call, the lobby was swarmed with trigger-happy High Rollers... Although he did drop his gun as requested, his hesitation to do so almost cost Mike his life as the criminals shot him in cold blood. Luckily bystanders and the receptionist managed to prevent him from bleeding out, while police officers arrived and started applying emergency bandages while others chased the criminals. An ambulance from Los Santos Emergency Medical Services (LSEMS) arrived and transported him to the Pillbox hospital. While still in bandages, Mike was released from the hospital as only some time would now be required for him to fully recover. Certainly not intentional, but luckily the criminals did not cause any serious internal damage to Mike's body. While exiting the hospital, he met his boss mrs. River Paige, the Interim Chief of LSEMS. She immediately noticed his bandages and promptly inquired about his well being. After hearing the whole story, River ushered Mike in her car and drove him to City Hall to ensure his safety and report another missing firearm. Afterwards, they went to inquire if the Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) would be able to provide protection. Unfortunately when arriving at the Mission Row police station, officers told them to quickly flee as the criminals that were arrested for shooting Mike (and certainly many other cruelties) had an officer kidnapped! River again took Mike with her and drove towards one of Mikes properties that is not in the Diamond Casino. Luckily it was then that Mike was called by a police officer, informing him that the situation was under control and then managed to retrieve his gun from the criminals! Mike thanked River and made his way back to Mission Row, where he was handed over his backup firearm. While dealing with all the paperwork involved he was told that, against his expectations, not the whole group of criminals was now behind bars. Mike was advised to lay low and immediately dial 911 if needed. Again he feared for his life and he made some quick decisions. At the nearest discount clothing store, Mike quickly changed his fancy clothes for something called "a hoodie" and "cargo pants". Then he had a taxi drop him off at a second hand car dealership where he bought a vehicle that would not represent him at all. He considered spending the night in it, but decided that it would be safer to sleep in one of his properties that is not at the Diamond Casino. With opening night of BUTCH approaching, Mike is now hiding from murderous criminals... is the opening in jeopardy, just like his life?

    BUTCH

BUTCH update: networking! With the opening approaching, Mike is alternating his time between a few tasks that currently require his attention: Networking Now that the first connections are made (with LSEMS & WENN), it is important for the future of the cozy cafe to extend that network quickly. Luckily sometimes all that requires is a different vehicle (, a paid blip on the map) and some luck. Today the first interaction with an illegal faction took place, since the founding of BUTCH. At the entrance of his cafe, Mike met a biker who identified himself as Max Chopper of The Lost Motorcycle Club. Although at first a bit relunctant, since the tough looking motorcyclist might not directly belong to the target group of BUTCH, the guy seemed friendly enough so Mike told him about the concept. The biker eagerly joined him on a tour of the building and actually showed interest in the atmosphere of relaxed reading, playing boardgames with friends or to join a session of D&D. If the pink interior was off putting to Max, he was polite enough not the bring it up. The biker promised that he will tell his faction about this new place, and is going to suggest that they visit -on or after opening night- as a group. Although the differences between the (legal and illegal) two will prove to be big, currently an informal cooperation with another faction is big news! Attracting members Another important goal is to grow a group of people, who will become regulars at BUTCH after opening night. Because of the niche we operate in, only a slow organic growth might be expected. However Mike has big plans, and luckily still owns an apartment or two with a license to rent them out. Including a bed with the membership should help to speed up this process when that becomes necessery. After all: who wouldn't claim that they love reading a book and sharing their opinion about it once or twice a week, when that solves an homeless situation you found yourself in. In the meanwhile, Mike has practiced his charms in front of a mirror and is trying to convince everyone to attend opening night. Hopefully some people will! Purchasing supplies With the kitchen installed and everything cleaned after the renovation, the time has come to stock up on supplies. BUTCH does not have any agreements with supplies yet, so Mike can be found shopping regularly around San Andreas.

    BUTCH

BUTCH update: planning opening events! With all the formalities arranged, it is time for Mike to open the cafe. As he is employed at Los Santos Emergency Medical Services (LSEMS) and the plans for the future of his faction include cooperation with other factions and businesses, it seemed best to organise two openings. First a soft opening and a couple of days later the official opening. Luckily the Supervisory+ team of LSEMS know Mike for a long time and are in general very supportive of new ideas. That is how the soft opening of BUTCH on April 24st has become a LSEMS-event that has been announced to that whole faction: In the meanwhile, Mike has scheduled an interview with Marcus Falcone from Weazel Entertainment News Network (WENN). He will be interviewed as new business owner, and during that interview they will also discuss how the WENN-faction could IC'ly support this startup. That means there are now two legal factions (LSEMS & WENN) that are showing some support to BUTCH even before its official opening, a great way to start!

    BUTCH

The BUTCH faction thread is entirely out of character (OOC). about BUTCH: The Eclipse community has many options for characters interested in an active nightlife. There are several bars, large restaurants, discos and even outdoor gatherings with loud music and dancing. But what about those who dislike crowds? The characters who prefer a good book over topless dancing? They struggle to socialize. I'm sure you can imagine that it is even worse for those who identify as LGBTQ+ and that is exactly why BUTCH was founded, a cozy new cafe in San Andreas. Some of the core values of BUTCH can be read on Life Invader: "a very LGBTQ+ friendly café, that provides a fun environment to read, chill and talk. We don't play loud music and don't usually have large crowds. You are welcome to bring your own book or browse our bookcases for something new to read. And please bring your friends and play boardgames or D&D! We welcome everyone; ALL AGES, and don't serve alcohol (and no pets or weapons allowed)." And that is where the idea for a faction was born: a legal group of characters who belong to the target audience of BUTCH. That means that they are most likely: not a big fan of crowds, perhaps a bit nerdy, sometimes socially awkward, identify as -or at the very least: are very friendly towards- LGBTQ+ and slightly interested in (or all the way up to: greatly addicted to) reading and playing boardgames. They meet regularly at the cafe to read, discuss anything that interests them, play boardgames and more in a cozy, friendly environment. start of BUTCH: It was 2007 when 20 year old Mike started medical school at the Dutch university of Utrecht. Many years later he became a medic with internships done at both UMC Utrecht and St. Antonius medical center. Unfortunately the local economy struggled, and so did Mike and his family. When he found himself living on the streets, Mike decided to pursue a better future abroad and traveled to San Andreas on April 30th, 2021. He was well aware that hard work was required from him to improve his situation and he only allowed himself that first day for all formalities (collect his ID and drivers license from the government, etc), before he started looking for a job. Mike worked the next two weeks as money transporter for Union Depository. At the beginning of his third week, a nasty accident occurred right in front of him. A motorcycle collided with a car, causing the motorcyclist to be fighting for his life on the asphalt. Although Mike was not directly involved in the situation, his instincts took over and he started to help after dialling 911. When an ambulance arrived, he quickly noticed that his medical skills were still more then decent. And that same day, the now 30 year old Mike applied at LSEMS. It only took him two days to be accepted as trainee and a few weeks later he was -once again- a fully licensed medic. His career as LSEMS went very well, and took him through the ranks all the way up to the command team. With his growing responsibilities within LSEMS, his income grew as well. And after initially living out of a vehicle, Mike now found himself purchasing a second apartment to rent out. Some wise (or was it lucky?) Bitcoin investments helped him with that. He never forgot his past tho and made an habit out of assisting others. During a #saynotomafia-campaign a couple of years ago, his good deeds nearly got him featured in that months Weazel News magazine: Later in 2023, Mike stepped down to a newly created EMT-Parttime role at LSEMS, that he still holds to this day. Having acquired housing in both Los Santos, Sandy Shores and up north in Paleto over the years, he was in a financially very comfortable position. Although he also spends lots of money on craziness like five identical chrome limousines, he continued to help others as well. From that urge, he decided to sell his Sandy Shores beach-house and his Paleto apartment at the beginning of 2025 and started looking for something to contribute to society instead. Not long after, he noticed the empty building of former all-male fitness "BUTCH" in Downtown Vinewood (Los Santos) to be up for sale. Although the former business was long gone, its prominent advertising around the building was still there. As Mike identifies as LGBTQ+ himself, a plan quickly arose. This could become a cozy cafe for everyone in San Andreas who -just like himself- preferred a good book over loud music and crowds. After reaching out to the Property and Housing Bureau in March 2025, a month later the property became his. Shorty after cafe "BUTCH" was registered as company and the business licenses had been obtained. In the meanwhile, Mike's remaining family was flown in from Holland and they worked tirelessly with the contractor on the interior. As digital presence is also important, Mike created a Life Invader page for the company. And he had a webdesigner build the companies website. With both the exterior and interior finished, it is now time to open the business. Instead of a big profit, Mike's goal for BUTCH is to form a group of likeminded people. People who like the concept and enjoy the atmosphere of the cafe. People who want to become a regular and officially register themself as such. They could become "members" of what would be considered a book- and boardgames club. And over time, who knows what adventures await? The University of Los Santos is about to open, certainly they will have some students (or even teachers) who struggle to find a suitable place to study when their school is closed. Mike has even invested in some computers and a copier-printer to accommodate in the cafe for such situations. And many Government factions incorporate some sort of written exam in their training of new employees. Could BUTCH some day become a training center for such tests, where students can practise for their exams? And last but not least, there is an industrial kitchen installed in the cafe. Could that be rented out to businesses that now prepare food from their houses? Or will some regular visitors of the cafe start cooking delicious meals for us? Hopefully you're as excited about the future as Mike is! ranks within BUTCH: Management Member Guest OOC rules: At BUTCH, we require: no racism, hate speech, sexism or slurs; be respectful and friendly towards all other players and staff; a clean admin record (last punishment at least 3 months ago); be positive towards LGBTQ+ you to really RP your character in depth.

  6. BUTCH is a warm, friendly cafe for all ages, and especially the San Andreas LGBTQ+ community. Most of our regulars might be considered a bit "nerdy" and we do not play loud music and generally do not host events for large crowds. Instead you are very welcome to bring your own book or browse our bookcases for something new to read. And please bring your friends and play boardgames or D&D! We currently don't serve alcohol (and no pets or weapons allowed inside). https://butch.cafe
  7. I sometimes have the same issue on my (4k) resolution, I assumed this to be an widescreen interface-issue. If you quickly switch to HD (1920x1080), you should be able to click the preview-button.

  9. *update January 14th*: I made a bug report as its been 24 hours since posting without any suggestions. I assume at this point that its not some setting on my end or something but a bug in general. Issue Being Reported: Since a few months, the GPS routing (the purple line) on the minimap disappears on my ultrawide (3840x1080) resolution when I look forward. This happens with all routing (also the yellow line for 911-calls), and is related to the resolution (when I switch to 1920x1080, all is fine). My guess would be that it is related to the position of the minimap in the GUI; when I switch from 1920x1080 to 3840x1080, the minimap stays on the location where it was in that HD-resolution and it works fine. But when I reload the GUI (rejoin/restart game, etc), the minimap is at the position where it is on the ultrawide resolution (more to the left). Date and Time of Issue (provide timezone): always (when on 3840x1080) Account Name: Meloen Evidence and/or notes worth mentioning: As you can see in the video, it is as if some invisible rectangle gets drawn over the purple navigation line on the minimap, when looking forward.
  10. Date and time (provide timezone): 23-08-2021 15:45 CET Character name: N/A Issue/bug you are reporting: After configuring two factor authentication (2FA) through https://panel.eclipse-rp.net/settings, two issues occur: When entering the 2FA code on the panel, there is also the notification (and e-mail being send!) about the e-mail not being verified (see attached screenshot). It is verified. There is no 2FA ingame. Expected behavior: See two points above. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: The unverified message (and e-mail) seems to be a bug. And the desire for 2FA ingame is a feature request. Vehicle license plate number*: N/A
  11. Issue Being Reported: The Discord bot is not changing roles when donator status is reached. Date and Time of Issue (provide timezone): 11/08/2021 23:10 UTC Your characters name: Mike Jansen (discord: Maarten#8947) Other player(s) involved: N/A Evidence and/or notes worth mentioning: I've reached donator status, see sscreenshots attached.
  12. It would be nice if it was possible to open (one or even multiple) (paid) additional bank accounts per character. Especially if that bank account could be shared with others. That way it would be more realistic to RP living together with other people, and have a mutual bank account for shared costs like the rent, groceries, etc.
  13. Date and time (provide timezone): 12-05-2021 23:29 CET Character name: Mike Jansen Issue/bug you are reporting: At the parking between the freelance job busdriver and the hospital, there are two trees floating since todays server update. Expected behavior: A non blocked parking Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate:
