Nathaniel Leveau was born Nathaniel Braxton, the eldest of six children to a family living in Chase Point, a neighborhood within the Bohan district of Liberty City. He was forced to give up his childhood early in order to assist his parents as they both worked two jobs to make ends meet. When he wasn't caring for his siblings, Nathaniel always had his face buried in a piece of literature that he had either checked out from school or the local library. This would often get him ridiculed by the other neighborhood children as they felt he was a "weirdo" by being so reclusive.
Misfortune struck Nathaniel at the age of twelve, when his mother and two of his sisters were killed in an automobile accident. This sent his father into a deep depression, which in turned caused him to turn to drugs and alcohol. Nathaniel was often the target of his father's violent tirades, which often left him bruised or bleeding in someway. Yet, to Nathaniel, he and his brothers would be nothing without their father. Therefore, he endure the pain that he had to because he truly believed that what he was doing was worth it in order to keep his family together. For four years, the boys suffered through torturous punishments brought on from their father's anger and bitterness. It wasn't until a neighbor witnessed Nathaniel being struck that anything alerted Child Protection Services.
The boys were separated and adopted by various countries all over the country, with only Nathaniel remaining in Liberty City. He would be adopted by the Leveau family of Northern Gardens, continuing his education and even getting his degree in General Studies. He maintained contact with his brothers, regularly checking in to make sure they were being taken care of. To his delight, they were each much happier where they were, despite missing him. Content upon this and realizing that he was growing tired of the city he called home, Nathaniel, with his parents' blessings, decided to make his way to the city of Los Santos, San Andreas, where he would shape a new, undetermined path for his life.
