Ronan Green is 30 years old and the youngest child of 3. He grew up out of state with his family in a small town near a major city where his father owned a corner store. His sister still lives there now and currently runs the store with her husband while taking care of their mom. His father passed away a few years back, and his brother is serving a 5 year felony sentence for car theft. His siblings were constantly taught a strong work ethic from their parents, and from a young age knew their father wanted them to take the store over when they could no longer run it. Ronan began idolizing his brother at a young age and would even do some ride-alongs with him when he was older. His parents admittedly disapproved of his older brother’s life and disowned his brother when he was arrested for his felony.
Ronan grew up catholic and always battled with the rigorous teachings of his faith. It was a completely different life for Ronan running around the streets with his friends then it was at home. His lifestyle tended to fall more in line with his older brother and Ronan found himself in trouble with the cops a lot during his adolescents. He finished Highschool, but never went to a 4-year college like his parents wanted. Instead he worked odd jobs (ie. janitor, mover, construction) while he paid his way through trade school.
Ronan has a secret interest that he has not told his parents or even his brother. He has a passion for filmmaking, and always watched documentaries in his spare time and when working at the corner store. Deep down Ronan wants to work towards becoming a well-known documentary filmmaker. This aspiration is mainly the reason that Ronan has decided to move to the city, although he has never had anyone believe in him or see his amatuer documentaries. He is not opposed to working multiple jobs and living off paycheck to paycheck, but he made a promise to his brother once he got out of prison that he was going to open up an auto shop in the heart of the city and call it Brother’s Green.
Ronan is very approachable and attentive, but if you know him really well he can be crass and rude at times. He rarely believes in his capabilities which can cause him to second guess decisions or refuse to decide altogether. This causes him to be slightly socially awkward and responsive to all types of authority. Ronan has creative ideas, but rarely has the tenacity to pursue them on his own. Ronan is allergic to tomatoes and usually cooks his own meals (*he would help his mother in the kitchen all the time). He rarely drinks, but regularly smokes spliffs and drinks coffee all throughout the day. He usually does better with a structured work schedule, otherwise he’ll probably sit around all day with a crockpot on, watching documentaries and getting high.
