Hi Jbacon,
I appreciate you responding to my post. I realized that I wasn't exactly clear on what I am looking to propose or what I am asking for before I propose it. I did this purposely because I'd like to speak in a more private setting where we can discuss in more detail.
With that said, I want to make sure you are all aware that I am NOT looking to change any departmental processes in game or in character. I'm still very much new to this community and still have much more to learn.
So what am I offering or suggesting? For starters, I have a pretty big vision for what this can be. But I'm going to start small to showcase what can be done to see if it is accepted by our community. I'm going to ask that you read my example process below and keep an open mind. I know I am not 100% accurate in my steps below, it is simply for show of an example.
With that said, please read on.
Step 1 (Applicant). Copy form > Paste form to an editor (word/docs) > Edit the form (includes erasing all the text in the answer fields and entering new content > Copy form > Create a new thread > Paste form > Submit
Step 2. (Recruiter) What do they do with it? Is the data recorded into a database or table? Do they read through all the responses and then determine if they meet the criteria?
Step 3. Approval/Denial stage? how is this tracked? how are users informed? Is there an approval flow?
Now I could very well have these steps very wrong. Which is why I need someone with knowledge of the process to bring me up to speed. But this is solely meant as an example.
The process I envision will be enhanced with many great features
Example process I'm building
Step 1 (Applicant) - Answer form > Submit (this is all step 1 has to be)
Step 2 (Recruiter) - Form routes for approval based on criteria ( this could be a static routing a conditional routing)
Static routing would be, all applications go to Jim.
Conditional routing will check the answers in the forums and then determine who should get the approval.
Also, we can setup an approval group. So it is not sitting on someone who is not available for the next 3 days.
Step 3 (Approvals) - Forms will have approvals.
Approvals and denials are tracked.
Approvals and denials can be done by email
Now.... The above is to just give you a general idea of how this can flow. (not a 100% sure how it does flow just yet). I'm not going to keep going into more steps, but I will say that all of this information will get stored. Two big things here AUTOMATION and REPORTING!
If your not excited about either of these, you haven't worked with me yet. Here are some things we can do with just some of the application data.
How many applications were submitted (today, this week, lifetime)
Count of pending applications, approved, and denied (today, this week, lifetime)
I can include logic that will check the users name against the database to see when they applied last. So if they didn't wait the required 2 week waiting period, I can set an indicator to show that. or, I even setup the approval workflow to auto-deny it.
I can build logic into the tables to check all the TRUE or FALSE answers. This means you will not have to check every single field in this application. Let the logic check to see if they are a citizen, speak English, or write English.
There are many more features and benefits I can go over.
A little background about me. I've jumped into RP about a year and a half ago. I was on Altis life on Arma 3. Moved over to GTA with FiveM. Then over to EclipseRP with RageMP. In my experience so far, this server has been the one I have connected with the most. The mechanics of the system you that RageMP and eclipseRP have in place is great and continues to improve. The enforcement of good RP and changes to the server rules to improve the overall RP gaming experience is impressive. The documentation, processes, and policies have me hooked. I can tell you right now. I'm still very new to this community. I've put more time into developing this demo for you all then I have with logging into the game.
I will keep working on putting together a sample file/form/report of the other ideas I have that have the potential to improve the overall Role Play experience. I typically donate to most games I play that I enjoy. But I see an opportunity where I can give more. I will continue to work on the demo to get it ready for a presentation.
I hope to continue this conversation.
A fan, a player, a die hard gamer... Cheers!
