  1. I ran around 4 or 5km, with not a car in sight. No NPCs, no parked cars, just city noise and desolation (lol). I jumped on 3 or 4 other FiveM servers and was up and running in about half an hour. Even had multiple RP encounters during that time. I probably should have taken the first cab driver up on his offer, but at that stage I was sure I would find a car to steal. The only cars I found were parked at the police station, but I'm aware of the No Crime Zone rule (thanks to the test.. lol). Although I considered breaking the rule out of frustration, but thought better of it. I didn't want to mess with someone else's game just because I was annoyed, so walked to Tequil la la and upon finding it empty, not wanting to waste time doing another possibly bugged job, waiting over 10 minutes for a cab and having nothing left to do, I just logged off. The lack of NPCs are a deal breaker for me personally. I'm glad you enjoy it though. I'd be extremely reluctant to give it another try. I have limited game time (particularly where I can use a mic - small kids in the house, usually sleeping when I'm playing) and wrestling with buggy scripts is not how I want to spend it. I thought the lack of NPCs was a bug until I did a bit of research and discovered it was by design. To me, it really makes the game look empty, and hard to blend in.
  2. My 2 cents as a new player.... I was accepted the other day after two attempts at the application. After the first one was rejected, I'll admit I was a little disheartened. However, I accepted the guidance, made the appropriate corrections, and was accepted. I figured that if the application process was this stringent, and the server was topping Google search on a different platform to most other servers, it would be top notch. (No offence is intended here, but) the server sucked. I passed the driving test (during which I was overtaken by cops "chasing" nobody flat out down the freeway. Almost crashing into me - yes, I pulled in when I heard the sirens, although I barely had time to, they were all over the road.). I finished the test and took a rental scooter to my first job as a cash courier. I hopped into my security van and went to my first location, an ATM. The ATM was instructing me to press "Y" to service it. I pressed "Y". Nothing happened. I turned around to find that my van had disappeared. I was now stranded in the middle of the "city" with no transport. I decided to take look around. I could hear traffic, and people. It sounded like a populated city, only there were no people, and no cars. It was like "28 days later" but with more noise. Completely unrealistic. I kept looking around. There were people chatting occasionally in the chat window. I met one guy who was driving a cab after about 20 minutes of looking. He asked did I need a cab, but I had nowhere to go, so I politely declined. Went looking for something else to do... couldn't find anything. Wasn't going to waste my time on another "job". Happened upon a cop station with 2 or 3 actual people. Was overjoyed, until one of those cops jumped into a car, drove up the street at break-neck speed, did a 180 hand brake turn, back to the station, crashed into a parked car, reversed out and carried on driving like a prat. At this point, regretting that I hadn't taken the cab driver up on his offer, I phoned a cab. After waiting 10 minutes, I gave up an made my way to Tequil la la to find an empty building. I logged off, uninstalled RageMP and went back to FiveM (which I finally figured out how to get running, and have been playing there since). Good luck with the server guys (genuinely), it isn't for me though. Just thought you guys seem to be putting a lot of work in, and an actual first hand new player account may help. Is there a way of adding NPCs into certain areas to give them a bit of life (you can't possibly host enough people to make a city centre realistically populated)? This is still GTA, surely I should be able to find a car to steal? If either of those things had been there, I may have stayed on and given it a try.
  3. Just had my application accepted yesterday. Was excited to try some RP and logged on to the server, got my drivers licence and started a job as a cash courier. First ATM asked me to press "Y" to service it. I pressed "Y" and nothing happened. Then my cash van disappeared. Was stranded in the middle of Los Santos. Tried phoning a cab, and after 10 minutes waiting and no cab arriving, I decided to steal a car. But there was no cars or NPCs and very few players other than the occasional cop flying by like maniacs. I was under the impression that players were meant to play with a level of realism. These cops were driving completely unrealistically. Is this behaviour typical? Also, is the server bugged? Where are all the NPCs? It's like a post-apocalyptic city, except I can hear traffic and other noises from the city. I just can't see anyone.
