I feel the real skill issue is needing all that you have to catch criminals it’s a video game people run and shoot at you because they don’t want u to charge stack them because u oocly dislike them and spend 5 irl hours in a video game jail

If the crim roleplayers on the server (Not all, but most) cared about anything other than farming W's in their paragons & Issi's I would take this more seriously, but unfortunately all anyone wants to do is clap and evade, I really just don't see your point.

I do agree that DOC time is too much, anyone who doesn't agree probably doesn't play crim or have a full-time job, but the point stands that if we reduce the time, the crims that never care and just go to DOC 3 times a day, will now just be doing the same thing they do 6 times a day. Sorry but letting crim roleplayers go too crazy just makes it completely unfun for us, there are lots of criminal factions that we barely have to interact with but when we do it's alot of fun (usually for both sides) because they play it smart and act like actual criminals.

I say skill issue because Anakin, I have personally arrested you probably 10-15+ times, you're literally constantly in /b after YOU choose to shoot up cops, and half the time its over something so small. I'm not saying I don't agree with some points but at this point you just seem to be cluelessly ranting about factions you know nothing about. I've been on the server since 2018, I was in Zetas and one of the 3 founders of Zetas, and I have tried crim many times in the last year, but frankly, every interaction I have with other crims is the exact same but in different colors.

As for realism, no-one is against us paying for our own cruisers and having things cost (But I have only ever died 4 times in the year I've been a cop, so again, we won't lose shit so if you think that will change anything for you, you're in for a rude awakening), and I am sure that the only reason this isn't a feature at this point, is because it would involve a lot of scripting and solve 0 of the complaints. and no criminals just run around an entire state in colors in 15 man convoys blatantly saying "WE ARE HERE WE ARE HERE, PLEASE FIND SOMETHING TO ARREST US FOR". They stay in their own turf and mind their own damn business.

    Edit:

TL;DR - I agree that things should be easier for crims to access, and I agree that DOC time should be reduced, but I also think that the way criminals act on this server would make it a 24/7 warzone if we made it easier. (There are lots of civilian roleplayers who don't want to get robbed and shot up 24/7, When I was in Zetas thats all we did was just rob everyone and smoke everyone, and it just wasn't fun for them)

Have you ever heard of radio binds? Not that hard set a main freq then have 5 tac freqs ik you guys use a pager to get swat on when there is a shootout so just put an ic channel in a discord with all the freqs and have staff set them as leo only or leo + MD

You're literally not understanding what I said. I said, we have 5+ situations going on at a time, how are they supposed to know where people are or how to organize things if we can't hear our main frequency at the same time as while we're in tactical situations. In fact, please apply to PD/SD and RP as one of them for a while so that you can comprehend what I am saying.

Couldn't the PD and SD department just use radio binds? You just bind Jtac to bind 3 and then when somebody makes the call that your hopping to Jtac now you just press your radio 3 bind?

We don't have a dispatch so that would not work, literally ever. (and implementing one would be completely unsustainable).

The only way this works is if we somehow have 2 radios, one with the main frequency and the rest with all of our tacs, there are days where we have 4 TAC's on both sides and a J-TAC going because every organization in the city happens to be acting up that day. Without a dispatch system in place finding each other would be impossible.

Trying to justify using TS as a way to reduce the effect of /vr 1 is just trying to avoid the problem completely. The issue is the server VOIP at thats the thing that should be addressed, not trying to get TS for everyone in the server to use. The discussion should be titled "Fix VOIP, its been too long."

    Also +1.

I believe this is a good Idea just solely based on the fact that If you do anything that isn't even that crazy on the criminal illegal scale such as robbing an ATM or Grand Theft Auto, you get 2-3 Hours in DOC - Most people only have 2-3 Hours to play, which already ins't much time to Roleplay with. So when you spend the 1st 30 minutes doing something then go to jail for the rest of your time, It takes the fun out of it. I personally think they either have to do this, make an EASIER way to get out of jail faster or make jail time less extreme ( because this jail time is VERY extreme )

Robbing an ATM is 30 minute charge, if you FINISH it, for hitting the ATM it's Vandalism, and taking the cash is petty theft. that is 30 minutes. You get 2-3 hours because you decide to evade over a $500 citation. Lmao.

  5. I thought of writing down an entire list of pros to cons and my justifications for my beliefs, but honestly I think I can sum it up pretty quickly.

So before I get the typical anti-cop player response; I've been here since 2018 and started out as a crim, and I still play crim every now and then, but I can't play daily anymore due to the disgustingly toxic and competitive side of it.

The majority of crims just care about clapping each-other & police and optimizing their game to do it the best on a roleplay server, so all this would do would make it so they bait DM rights and then lose and then goto DOC and sleep before waking up to rinse and repeat it the next day. (The majority of us don't just want shootouts all the time, we wanna deal with public disturbances and regular nuisance type crime sometimes.)

I'm not saying I don't understand the pain of going to DOC for hours, I hated it on my crim. It was 50/50 whether I enjoyed myself for a little while or if I was miserable and just dealing with new players earraping and dming eachother. It got to the point I would just get locked in my cell, do /vol proximity 0 and watch Netflix on my other monitor. But my advice to you, is stop doing 20 man convoys in neon red vehicles with heavies on your back and have some tact.

TL:DR - Criminal RP standards haven't warranted the reward of any sort of quality of life changes to DOC timers, so I am pretty indifferent to the idea of this change.

#just got into a 30 minute chase where it was 2 shinobis 1 helicopter 1 highspeed and like 3 cruisers, I honestly don't see how people can say the PD vs crim aspect of this server is balanced. There is no losing 2 shinobis, 1 helicopter, 1 highspeed, and 3 cruisers. Thats not something you lose. You go underground or under bridges for the helicopter? tuff shit the 2 shinobis are still on you you go on straights so u can lose the shinobis? tuff shit 2 shinobis still on you. plus now that your faster than my shinobis im gonna get a highspeed! in all honesty, it makes the server so unbearable to play criminal as its not enjoyable partaking in roleplay illegally with cops. I get the whole governent funding thing but bro government funding is not maintaining or even buying 2 shinobis @ 400k stock, 1 helicopter at (4-5 mil? probably for sure atleast 1 million its a helicopter) the stock price of any of the highspeed, and the 400k scouts thats just not realistic in the slightest man.

As one of the shinobis in this pursuit, our shinobi's are not maxed, you almost lost us multiple times, you didn't lose us because the helicopter stayed on you because you didn't hide under highways, or go through tunnels like you could have, I would say we lose pursuits against shinobi's probably 70% of the time at-least.

Last night was honestly just a skill issue man, sorry.

  7. I agree, we've had multiple times on my crim where we simply didn't have the time to get even 1 lockpick attempt off before we could turn their phone off. The only thing we can do to counter this is to pretty much always have our phone off, which just doesn't make sense. Issues I see with this are that, even handcuffed I could likely (not comfortably) reach into my pocket and turn my phone off with a little stretching and positioning. The biggest issue with this though, is the fact that we cannot even take our friends battery when they're cuffed.

+1 - I'd like to see that we could at the very least, take our friends batteries while they're handcuffed/ziptied.

  8. As someone who has not received an admin punishment in over 3 years, I am perfectly okay with my logs staying there, because I trust the staff team to take that into account if I were to make another mistake.

My main concern with adding an expiration period to admin logs, is that people may use this to their advantage, players may think "Oh well my DM just expired, so im okay if I DM this guy."

Permanent bans that allow appeals after 30 days give people the chance to truly think about what they've done, and if they have to work hard to come back, they're less likely to repeat an offense.

As much as I would love to see my admin punishments removed so that my log is clean, I completely understand why they are not.
