  22. Grand Opening While finishing up the construction of Clappers, Larry was reaching out to many of his friends to see if they would consider working at the restaurant. Chad Rapkov was someone that Larry remained close since they worked together at Weazel, he had Larry's back. Chad introduced him to Raven who was willing to help us out before anyone else was interested. From there they got some momentum. About a week later Larry found a chef named Guiseppe Alfredo, They held an interview with him at Clappers. The food he made for Purm and Larry was spectacular. Guiseppe was passionate & very friendly which was just what they were looking for. As it got closer to opening day they showed a few people from the Mirror Park Tuning mechanic shop the inside of Clappers. Everyone had nice things to say about the place. Larry got pulled to the side by Mina Jo. Mina goes on to tell him about how she is really good at hunting & taking pictures. She asked him if I ever wanted some fresh produce to contact her or if I wanted some pictures taken of the restaurant. Mina was so polite that Larry was certain he wanted her help getting fresh produce so he offered her a job at the restaurant as a source of produce as well as a waitress. Everything had fallen right into place. But Larry could not get passed opening the restaurant without Jackie. She was the person to convince him that this was possible & he should go for it. However when everything was being finalized Jackie was busy doing other things. A few days before our opening Larry ran into Jackie at a party in Mirror Park and she asked him if she was still working on opening night. Larry was surprised because he convinced himself she had lost interest in working at Clappers. Regardless of what he thought, Jackie was pulling through. Larry was impossibly more stoked to fulfill his dream because Jackie was a big part of it. Having her support was big, for him personally. The day of opening night Larry did his best to invite all of his friends & welcome them to bring anybody they wanted to bring with them. People started gathering at the front doors about thirty minutes before we opened. It was a pretty decent size crowd that showed up early. But once it came time to start letting people in it was as if that crowd tripled. There were so many familiar faces that he did not get to greet all his friends until after they were seated inside. The Irish, Rising Suns & Salvation rolled through deep. Jonas Eriksen, Roman Groves, Tyrone Cox, Andrea Fallon, Harry Forde and so many more homies were there. The night was better than we could ever ask for. Our staff absolutely killed it. They were troopers the whole way. They handled serving close to a hundred people in just a bit over two hours. Which is outstanding. Thanks to everyone that came out to support us!
  23. Bittersweet After a little over a year we had come so far with the Sandbar. From all the time & effort put into building it from the ground up. The Sandbar was originally intended to be a chill spot for people on the beach to stop by, grab a bite to eat, and move on with their day. But eventually we found that people wanted so much more. We had to adapt to what worked & what the people of Los Santos wanted from us. People wanted that space to celebrate holidays with their friends, they wanted to have a place to take that special someone. And we like to do that for others. We had some great private events and Valentine's Day celebrated at the Sandbar. A bunch of friendships & memories have been made and that's what we stand for. However upon Valentine's Day we realized that we were not able to house a large wave of people because of the small size place. We only could hold a maximum of four tables which would fill immediately every opening. Leaving so many people waiting unrealistic times to wait for a table. As we continued to grow we realized that our growth would be indefinitely held back by the size of our space. Something as simple as opening our doors to the public, having a blip placed, & running advertisements for an event. After four different parties show up we are immediately stopped in our tracks from providing anyone else service. It took months for Larry to even truly consider another option other than try to make the Sandbar work with what they got. Eventually he got an offer that would give them enough for a bigger place. There were still a lot of things that had to come to fruition after getting the money to get the right place with the right amount of space. This was really taking a leap of faith but he knew this would allow them to reach their potential with more people. Mirror Park Tavern (Our inspiration) The Sandbar (Original Restaurant Location) With the newly implemented system from the government which allows people in Los Santos to request to purchase a location they desired to run a business. We were able to acquire our dream location. Clappers Italian Restaurant (Opening Soon) Acknowledgement: @Fanci Graphic Design for the Sandbar
  24. 𝓥𝓪𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓮'𝓼 𝓓𝓪𝔂 𝓡𝓮𝓼𝓮𝓻𝓿𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓼 To kick off the first ever public opening of the Sandbar we chose the one day of the year, where love is in the air, and boy did we feel it! Offering three different times to make reservations for that day. To insure couples from all around Los Santos could find their way to our restaurant to let us do the work so they can celebrate properly. Seeing all the couples having fun together. Taking time out to have a sit-down dinner, dressed to impress their dates, trusting us to make their Valentine's Day more memorable. Was just another example of why the staff at the Sandbar are so passionate with their work. After the last round of reservations Larry got a call from his friend Asbo, wanting to stop in the Sandbar with a group of friends. Which of course was another pleasant surprise to follow an already special occasion. A group of six of them came in together to celebrate their marriage. They decided to all sit at one table together, which was a fun way to end the night laughing over dinner. Turns out that one of the people that came into the Sandbar with Asbo was Travis Rashguard, the host from Rash's Rapport podcast with Weazel News. Which Travis & guests of the podcast went on to talk about their experience at the Sandbar, ultimately giving us 5 stars!
  25. Catering at the Burnout Nation Drag Race Larry met Asbjorn Shmidt at the Bayview Promotional Dinner that was hosted at the Sandbar. They both shared common interests in cars & food. So they exchanged phone numbers and Asbo invited Larry to his distillery. Larry had been taken back by the craftsmanship Asbo put into his beer and to see his plan to expand it reminded Larry of how he started off with just an idea to make a restaurant. While they enjoyed the beer Asbo brewed himself, they shared ideas & knowledge with one another in a supportive way for one another. Eventually Asbo brought up about a drag race he was planning out with his car club Burnout Nation. Which lead to Larry offering to have the Sandbar cater for the event. Both Burnout Nation & the Sandbar were just beginning on their paths so they both agreed to collaborate. The day at the races was a hot one. Burnout Nation setup a professional drag racing setup. From countdown lights, to bleachers for spectators, to concrete barriers & cones to direct cars. Larry & Petti White pulled up with the Sandbar catering van filled with food to barbeque. They setup their food tents, fired up the grill, and handed out chicken wings & ribs to all the hungry spectators. Amid all of the fun racing & barbequing, someone managed to steal the Sandbar catering van full of food. Which luckily, Paulo Witherfork was able to track down the van at a nearby chop shop and recover everything. Big shoutout to Paulo for saving the day! When all the tire smoke cleared & the dust settled after a long fun day of racing, Asbo introduced Larry to the Burnout crew- Hazel Adams, Don Mozzarella, & Maccy Kentworth. Not yet knowing how good of friends they would become over time. But very happy with what they had accomplished together that day.
