100%, prices charged by gangs also need to be capped as well, 200% tax for a toolbox is just despicable and unfair for smaller groups - the fact that a toolbox is an import in the first place baffles me when you have to buy a house with outside space in the first place

not neccessairily. theres nothing in the script that makes you have to set up your toolbox within private property. if you find a secluded spot on the map you can set it up there. at the risk of getting robbed. in agreement that the cost for toolboxes is hella high tho. and it being an import, a heavy one....compounds the issue.

This is in line with the servers want for crims to make money "on the map" instead of behind locked doors/gates.

  2. I honestly like the existing script. but this will always boil down to efficiency. this is why online poker rooms (gg poker, partypoker etc.) dont simulate dealers giving you cards etc. they just bang out all the cards asap. because it looks cool maybe half a dozen times, then it gets tedious, its just slowing down the process of actually getting to play your hand. speeding up the dealers maybe 20% would go a long way to fixing the issue, whilst retaining the script.

  3. The issue im seeing here is the whole "letting the crims go" aspect of the idea. the definition of giving crims "a reasonable chance" to get away is so open to interpretation. does a reasonable chance include LEOs pulling highspeeds, offroads and Air1 and waiting at the outskirts of the bank for people to drive off? or must LEOs stay well clear of the area until a timer expires?

the reason i would want this in concrete from the get go is otherwise forums would be flooded with reports from both sides if its left so vague.

  4. Honestly i would rather they just changed how quickly dirt shows on a freshly washed car.

I use the car wash in the city, then head up north to see some friends, by the time im pulling into bayview my cars already caked in mud again despite me just going on a quick blast up the freeway, not on a rally.

  5. I think we can all agree that the Panim update was a massive W and i have been having a lot of fun with it. However it has raised a concern, namely now that you can panim a cigarette, cigar or vape pen there is literally no reason to buy cigarettes or cigars anymore, not even for RP purposes.

My idea would be for tobacco products to give you some kind of small statbuff when consumed. as nicotine is a calming drug, it would be cool if it had the same effects as marijuana but at a reduced potency, maybe half? this would give tobacco products a reason to still be sold in stores whilst not making them super powerful.

+1 change the timers on this suspension to make it feel more appropriate for the crime.

Yesterday I was going a bit too fast on the highway and I saw some lights come out of the bush and eventually caught me. My license is now suspended for a 1 IRL day and my only BIKE is impounded. For going a bit too fast on the highway? nah sounds kinda lame, now I might as well either not play for 1 day or play on my LEGAL character.

I had VIP so I was out of prison in barely 10-15 minutes and after that I just walked around a bit and logged off.

this is the point we keep circling back to.

If your license is suspended, you cant get your car outa impound, if its stuck in impound, youre either passenger princessing until your license is unsuspended or you simply cant play on that character.

it was a store located in the city its just the fact that you gotta go all the way up to paleto for the average price that people pay, I understand its player decision but im sure you see my point of it being so low and almost not worth it if you get me

i totally agree. i wouldnt do it. forcing them to raise the price.

  8. Prices ARE set by the player running the business. they pay for the delivery. if the price is too low for you, dont take the job, forcing them to increase the price or wait til the trucker is desperate. supply and demand. typically a docks to paleto run is priced in at 3-4k by the market, with players paying more if they need the delivery ASAP. you just ran into a lowballer.

  9. -1.

We should not be enabling the largest factions on the server to grow larger, but find ways to encourage smaller groups to make the jump to be on their level in terms of resources. thus increasing gang variety, competitiveness and RP ops. this is how we move away from the clap meta.

If you already have 30 active regular members in your gang and you have no one to cut. then you are set.

  10. Honestly at this stage there is no excuse to not have some kind of recording software running.

the software at this point is as unintrusive at it can be. most software allow you to delete and upload as you go so drive capacity should not be an issue.

no ones saying you have to provide POV at 4k quality, but you should be able to produce something if you are asked to.

if you have a 2TB hard drive filled with clips then golly gosh thats a you problem for not freeing up space. i have about 20 gigs alloted to clips i need to save and so long as i mange it thats plenty. take some responsibility as a player and its never a problem.

This is not in any way an accurate statement at all. Impound is not something that LSPD in any way shape or form ignores because we dislike the activity, and the RP quality/variety is always dogshit. It, like MD's roadworkers fire calls, are low priority regarding call hierarchy. It has been for the year and a half I've been in PD, and it has been before my time on this server. It's not "No one wants to come to impound" but more so "gangs are shooting at each other" or "someone at burgershot looked at me funny, so I smashed him with a bat" which starts a massive headache, or responding to house robberies, store robberies, atm robberies, you get the picture.

The thing that people constantly fail to see is that it's not that PD doesn't want to come to impound, it's we get side-tracked with more important calls that come in. It's a double-edged sword. You are at impound, want a car out, we don't arrive on time. So, we prioritize impound calls, but then you're making a 911 call because some person shot at you and killed your friend, and we don't respond in time to investigate. Lose-lose for PD in either case. We see the calls coming in. We request a free unit to respond. They make their way there, but if they are enroute and pull off, there's a reason for it, and it's not because it's "not an activity they enjoy", nor is it because "the RP quality/variety is always dogshit."

The conversation surrounding whether the devs make it automated or not is on them to decide the amount of work and effort it is needed to execute on. The relocation of the impound lot in the city was done because of the mapping updates that the Mod Team has been working hard on for many months to provide a fresh re-skin of the city and make it more enjoyable for everyone in the future.

i feel like you entirely misunderstood what i was trying to say.

I was praising LEOs for improving response times for impound in my personal experience, despite the fact its a poor quality RP experience. i wasnt insinuating it was a poor RP experience because of LEOs. Its a poor RP experience because the LEO has higher priority calls to attend to and the person trying to get their car out dosent want to sit around any longer than they have to. therefore both are motivated to just run through the motions and get it done as fast as possible.

Reading the rest of your comment we agree on a bunch of things.

  12. In general just make DOC worth participating in again.

they spend alot of effort in terms of redesigning the yard and cellblock but also tickets are nerfed into the ground and theres less activity variety.

DOC has never looked so pretty nor been so pointless.

Logged in the other day to serve out a sentence, no fewer than 8 inmates just AFK in cells or sitting on benches, waiting out their jtime cus theres so little to do and the activities offered are various skillcheck minigames with very little monetary reward or incentive.

It is not a fun roleplay experience.

  13. This is an idea suggested once every few months (in the past by me) and its clear that the Devs have no intention to change the current format. particularly as they have just revamped city impound.

I will say that my experiences recently have improved. usually i can get my car out in about 10-15 minutes instead of 25-45. credit where it is due clearly LEOs are trying to make it work despite the fact that it is not an activity they enjoy and the RP quality/variety is always dogshit.

To be clear, I agree that it should be automated, but it wont happen.

  14. a tentative +1.

In total agreement that the current drug production systems are unfulfilling and heavily geared towards larger groups with the capability to hold public labs, or the super rich who own island property where they cannot be disturbed as they cook outside. the only way for small time crims to cook drugs presently is through the use of RVs, which can only hold about 3 tables if you are being honest about placement. this produces less income per hour than "working" at burgershot does.

As i have said before. Private labs were removed and nothing was added back in the fill the monumental hole that was left behind. cooking in private labs was a moneymaker that so many solo/small group crims used and now its gone with nothing to fill that space. as a result cars to chop are more scarce, Stores to rob are more scarce, and the competition for public labs is hotter than ever.

I dont think that private labs should be brought back in their original format. but its clear that something, anything needs to be added to help divsersify criminal roleplay.

  15. From a realism perspective, youre right. But it still wont happen.

The entire reason private labs were nuked was because it takes people into a private instance, where no one can interact with them barring altRP or them messing up their cook. essentially this took players out of the public game and into their own little private server. which made the city feel quieter than it should once you consider maybe a third of criminals would be cooking like this at any given moment. The devs identified this as a dealbreaker for the server and thus removed it.

In order for privatelabs to make a return, you would have to make it so that this is no longer an issue. and I can see no way to do that. yes you can make private labs have more steps and be more difficult than public cooking, that was already the case with the watering mechanic, but it still dosent fix the main problem.

  16. In fact, having mulled over this on my lunch break. I'm now convinced we are in a never ending war of escalating BS. a snake eating its own tail.

Cops tase quickly and with little escalation due to criminals not properly RPing the effects of a taser necessitating multiple shots and further RP/FRP of grabbing the crim while they are still on the ground encouraging the crim to NRP the Tase more necessitating the cop to shoot more etc etc and round and round we go. Fault is on both sides. but both sides can also agree the current system is unfulfilling and tedious at best.

We need to sit down and come up with a better system that both gives the crim more options when it comes to interactions with the cops whilst retaining the cops ability to swiftly end foot chases etc.

What that would look like, im not sure yet.  Best ive come up with so far probably involves some kind of combination of rule and mechanic change. something like the taser now aimcones and is slower to reload, however if it hits, it hits much harder, person is stunned longer and the target is then obligated not to resist further and accept a cuffing if the RP is carried out while they are still stunned on the ground.
