Nicholas Palermo Posted April 27, 2025 Report Posted April 27, 2025 Hey there! Reported this IG and they asked I throw it up here! Date and time (provide timezone): 16:10ish UTC Character name: Nicholas Belmont Does this issue appear again after a full game restart?: I have had it happen a few times on separate occasions, this is the first time I have noticed the cause and had recording going! How many times did this issue appear for you?: 3 Issue/bug you are reporting: When initially picking into a house, if you don't wait for the /toss or /flick anim to finish the QTE will be cancelled and alarm tripped with inconsistent frequency Expected behavior: Sometimes there's no issues, typically I pick as fast as I can after smoking and tossing because I've had it run out right before I've started haha. Normally you would just have a slower QTE and overall easier time performing the lockpick and not triggering the alarm. Evidence (MUST provide either UNEDITED photo or video) , notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Fingers crossed this link works! It shows pretty clearly the timing of the anim finishing if you're looking for it, but please PM me @Fluxpie on Discord if you need anything!!! I really think this is as simple as waiting another half second or starting and ending another anim, but looking at other posts I didn't see anything with an answer that was similar https://medal.tv/games/gta-v/clips/kaL4OsxJnzUHV1vnf?invite=cr-MSxpckEsMzYwMTE4ODE5 Vehicle license plate number*: N/A
Diligo Posted April 28, 2025 Report Posted April 28, 2025 (edited) First off you dont need to smoke the blunt after pressing "Use" on it. It will work without it. If you do smoke it, it only prolongs the effects which are relatively long on their own (5 minutes) so you get the buff for a while and no need to do it right before picklocking. Second thing - this is a well known bug and to resolve this is to smoke the blunt atleast 30 seconds before trying to picklock because there is some kind of hidden animation when you /toss or /flick the blunt it resets your characters model which in turn causes you to fail the picklock. Similar behaviour - try picklocking and then doing an animation bind, you will fail the picklock because it resets. If you look through the bug reports youll see this same problem and the resolution is to do what I have undermarked. P.S. Support staff can quote me on this and tell me if im wrong but - seeing that you did not know this, you can still use this video to get a refund because IT IS a bug, still unfixed. People just have found their way to work around it. P.S.S. Also server desync, your internet, your PC, Rage MP - any of these can fuck up the quick time on any action, so take that into consideration and continue recording your gameplay especially when doing house robberies where there are a lot of quick time events.
