Going back to 1976 in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, the Irmãos Commando gang quickly emerged as a powerful force after the police attempted to seize control of the neighbourhood. The family, led by the Chefe, had long been a respected presence in the favela, known for their influence and strength in the community. However, when the government-backed police began to enforce their oppressive rule and crush any signs of resistance, the family knew they had to take a stand.

With nothing but their intimate knowledge of the streets and an unshakable bond of loyalty, the family and their loyal allies launched a violent defensive position. Using the narrow alleys and rooftops of the favela to their advantage, they forced the police to retreat, sending a powerful message that the favela would not be easily controlled and that it belonged to the people. This victory became the foundation of what would later grow into Irmãos Commando—an empire built on the principles of power, fear, and resilient loyalty.

As time passed, the influence of Irmãos Commando expanded far beyond the favela, making them one of Brazil’s most dangerous and influential criminal organizations. Driven by a ruthless ambition for dominance, the family established a vast network fuelled by drugs and intimidation, while maintaining the loyalty that had once helped them defeat the police from taking over. The Irmãos Commando became a force to be reckoned with, leaving a lasting mark on the criminal underworld and transforming the family into legends of Brazil’s violent streets.

Goals:

In order to have a strong influence over Los Santos, Irmãos Commando have a set of strategic short and long term goals to achieve our desired outcomes.

Gang Relations: Our first goal is to build strong relationships with other gangs that have constant communication about circumstances and how to operate daily. This is our most important as it will allow us to achieve growth and further control. When it comes to this goal Irmãos Commando always keeps at mind the motto,  "união faz a força" - Unity Equals Strength.

Main Distributor of cocaine:

Teach other criminal organisations how to operate without unwanted attention and best logistics: Any connections Irmãos Commando operate with, we are determined to show them the best way to produce cocaine to a high quality and transport it efficiently.

Expanding influence in favelas and prisons:

Loyalty and Obedience: Strict codes of conduct ensure member compliance, with severe punishments for betrayal or insubordination.

Style:

Members will be seen in Orange and Black street wear, with a color arm band that indicated there rank

Vehicles:

Bf400, Shinobi, Scout, Komacho, Jugular

Values:

While CV's primary activities harm communities, they often provide social services (e.g., food, money, or even peace enforcement) in the areas they control. This creates a complex relationship with locals, who may see them as protectors against worse alternatives.

The CV sees the police and state institutions as enemies. This stems from its origins in Brazil’s oppressive prison system and is perpetuated by violent clashes with law enforcement.

Gang leaders and fallen members are often commemorated in the communities they control. These events may include parties, gunfire displays, and musical performances, sometimes serving as propaganda to maintain local support.

Sharing Profits: In the early days, members adhered to the principle of sharing resources, especially in prison. While less common today, in some territories, leaders distribute portions of earnings from drug sales to gang members and community allies.

The term "X-9" is a Brazilian slang term used to refer to informants, traitors, or snitches. Its origins are somewhat debated, but a few prevailing theories explain why this term came to represent informants within criminal organizations like the Comando Vermelho

In Brazil today, calling someone an "X-9" is a grave insult, especially in criminal environments. Being labeled as such often leads to harsh punishments or even death, reflecting the value placed on loyalty and silence within gangs like the CV.

Informants, referred to as "X-9s," face the gang's most severe punishments. The elimination of informants is both a deterrent and a method of maintaining operational security.
