The Story Of Will DaCosta

Will DaCosta suffered a tough childhood which made him the determined and nonchalant criminal that is so popular and loved today. Growing up Will was hopping from school to school due to multiple suspensions and exclusions.  From job to job, Will constantly had a tough time, constantly working or studying. Will lived in a rough area of South London and had to do anything to help his family survive in their poor conditions. Will’s dad, Tony DaCosta, had fled the country early into Will’s teen years causing him to have to look after his sick mother and younger brother, Carter DaCosta and be the man of the house. Will had to work multiple jobs just to ensure that his mother enquired her medication let alone pay the bills, rent and food cost for the three of them to live. At a very early age, Will’s mum was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and was told that she had only a certain amount of time to live. This crushed Will  and caused him to constantly keep to himself and become very vulnerable, however growing up something changed inside Will. He developed a sense of anger, danger and a mass behaviour change occurred within him.

One day, Will was walking down the street on his way home from work, when he had received the call from his brother that he had been dreading since the moment he had heard about his mothers illness. His mother had suddenly gotten extremely worse and had to be rushed to hospital. Will had to make a decision, and he had to make one quickly. One thing led to another and Will was suddenly hot wiring his way into a car which would soon change his life. He sped to the hospital, rushing through traffic left and right. He had arrived just in time. Just in time to see his mother one last time.

“Will, you need to go. You have such a bright future ahead of you. Leave England, travel the world, make some memories, please Will do it for me” his mother said, softly speaking coughing frantically in between every other word. “But mum, what about you, what about Carter?” Will said. His mother speaking vulnerably and in a weak tone of voice replied “Your brother is going to stay with your granddad and grandma, you go. Go follow your dreams Will” handing him an envelope which contained £13,000 cash. Then after a few tears were exchanged and a few last words, his mother was gone. Will shook crying, filled with emotion, filled with sadness, his mum was gone and he couldn’t believe it.

The next morning Will dropped his brother off at his grandma and granddads house and after a few words exchanged and a few hugs, Will left. He was going to start fresh, somewhere far from here. He opened his left pocket and pulled out the one way ticket to the place he would soon call home. Los Santos.  This decision changed his whole life, for the better and worse. This decision helped Will make friends, new family however enemies.

Will was off to Los Santos.

THE NEXT STEPS

Will had landed in Los Santos. Not much to his name, but an ambition to make money but most importantly a name for himself. Fear rushed through his body, but adrenaline too. Will was yet to meet people but due to his eagerness to make connections and bonds this was not a problem. Will was motivated to make money and to make it quick so he decided to head to Burgershot - The home to the new flight. This was a new beginning for Will, this was a chance to make money, this was more importantly a chance to make friendships that will last his whole stay in the city.

Will was eager to meet people and fill up his phone book as quick as he could. A situation had emerged across the street, a burgershot worker had been shot. Will ran over, in a desperate hurry to save his colleague who he hoped to call a friend, he was too late. Sudden flashes of his past came flowing back. The sight of seeing his mother dying. The sight of watching his brother crying at the sight of their father leaving. Will began to struggle. Luckily for Will, people next to him managed to start a conversation and get to know him. These people would make a huge difference in Wills life. Ceri Chapel and Buttzy Connors. These were the first people to even look in Wills direction and didn’t judge him based on his poor appearance or his lack of knowledge in the city. They gave Will a chance. A chance he would not take for granted.

They were willing to teach him about the city. But not what he was originally there to do. Will wanted to do everything the legal way, prevent the trouble that was being caused in Los Santos which reminded him of the area he used to live in, stop any gang crime which would put innocent people’s life’s at risk, prevent people feeling vulnerable. However, he was willing to learn. They began to teach him multiple different skills, however Will perfected them after such short amounts of time to a high standard. He was starstuck. How had this happened? Why was he good at all these illegal activities? He put the clues together and just when he thought he had worked it out, whilst cooking a few blunts at a lab for the first time, someone rolled in. Someone familiar. It was him. It was Tony. Wills Father.

Will was shocked, confused, angry. Why had he left them, in such a time of need? Will felt mixed emotions. He panicked. He didn’t know what to do, what to say or what to think. “I’m so sorry Will, I had to” his father said to him, shakily. Will stood, unfazed. “Trust me, I done it got your safety, for your brother safety, for your mother’s safety. They would have killed you all.” his father said, his voice was shaky, his body was twitching. “I had to leave so you, your brother and your mother would all live”. Will looked up. “She’s Dead!” He screamed at his father. “Because you weren’t there!” his voice began to rise, his face began to turn red and his facial expressions changed which were noticeable through the black bandana Will was wearing around his face. Suddenly, a flood of cars pulled into the lab, all strapped up with shotguns and AKs. The red colour from their cars and shirts stood out the most. “Sorry Will, I have to go, they’re here for me” his father said suddenly nervously. Tony hopped onto the gargoyle and left. This was the last Will would see of him for a while.

Will began to talk to the suddenly energy group of gang members in an attempt not to get robbed. He began to explain all the events which had led up to this and how he would be out of their hair as soon as he had done. He introduced himself showing to them his license. Due to his skill to communicate with people and to make connections, they tolerated Will and even gave him a Pistol .50 with a suppressor on it for protection. They exchanged numbers and names and parted ways. Will had made a few friends, or so he hoped.

Money soon became an issue for Will and it was back to burgershot for him. He spent long shifts night and day slaving away in the kitchen and in the front counter ensuring everyone received their food with quick service and to the top of his ability. Will would engage with the customers and make conversation with them. This helped him meet many people and to make decent tips off of them, due to his kindness and ability to charm people. This helped him and gave him a fresh opportunity in life when Gibby Knight and Cal Knight walked through the door. Both in sharp suits which had just been specially tailored for them, with no creases and a purple tie and mask which stands out to the human eye.

Will began to talk to these two men and began to enlighten them with his interests in the cities and his goals for what he wants to accomplish. Since the meeting of Buttzy Connors and Ceri Chapel, Will had one ambition which was to be the top criminal in the city with a name for himself. Gibby and Cal were interested. They had seen a slight potential in Will. After many moments and many radio calls later, Gibby called the leader down to speak to Will.

A black matte car pulled into the parking lot, the windows were tinted black so no one could see the insides, the under glow shone an eye catching purple colour and the headlights beamed into everyone’s eyes. Out stepped someone, smarty dressed with a fresh faded hair cut and a devious look on his face. He introduced himself to Will. He was someone who would become so important in Wills life and someone who would help him to become the best version of himself, someone who would constantly help him when in need and to always teach him. His name was Romeo Knight. Leader of The Empire.
